The game does not respond to your repeated infuriated screams of 'DASH', it responds to the controller input.
Sometimes inputs in games don't register, even if the input is pressed.

I mean I (unfortunately) have gamer rage, and sure I’ve broken many controllers and even a couple of games consoles, 10 odd years ago (the PS5 controllers are too expensive now 🤣) but I have never sat there punching myself on my leg then on my face!! My advice, get a punch bag or stop playing the types of games that boost the rage.

I think what makes these so funny is that these speedrunners are coming violently unglued over the most light-hearted, colorful children's games..... I mean, when you see some guy like Elpresador losing his shit over something like Call of Duty, you can almost understand it a tad more, because it's online and people are teabagging his corpse; rubbing it in - but this? This is destructive, seething, red-faced anger, culminating in a fit of autistic self-harm...... over fucking MEGAMAN. It's almost disturbing....
