    The Sandakphu and Phalut trek takes you to an altitude of 11,950 feet, from where you can see the Everest cluster on your left side. The Everest cluster can only be seen from Sandakphu and beyond. However, the view of the Sleeping Buddha starts on the first day and stays for a good four days on your Sandakphu trek route.
    The Sandakphu Phalut trek is a must for all those who cherish such mesmerising views of gigantic mountains.
    Is Sandakphu open now?
    The trek to Sandakphu Phalut can be done for about eight months of the year, barring the rainy months of May to August. Sandakphu temperature in the winter months dips to minus 5-6 degree celsius. So, it’s wise to check Sandakphu weather before planning your trek in winters.
    Is Sandakphu trek difficult?
    Sandakphu is a moderate trek with no technical sections to walk on. But it is an extremely long trek, which requires a good amount of preparation. In this video, Dhaval talks about the difficulty of the Sandakphu Trek. He has also shared some pro-tips to help you prepare for the Sandakphu and Phalut trek.

    I did the Sandakphu trek in the third week of October last year.I started from Mannebhanjan.I didn’t prepare for the trek and I can’t say that I’m physically in the best form as I’m 50+.I didn’t find it as difficult as I was told.I complete the trek in 4 days.

      @@noproblem4329 I reached the Mannebhanjan from Darjeeling in the afternoon and looked for some guide. I hired a guide for 1200 Rs. for a day. I started my journey and reached tumling after sunset. stayed there in a home stay that cost 250 Rs. next morning I resumed my journey for kali pokhri . Spent the night there for 350 Rs for a bed. Next day proceeded for Sandakphu. Next day returned to sepi . The difficulty level of the trek is quite moderate. As you go to high altitude the cost of the accommodations and food increases. One more thing I would like to say is that try to get a group that way the fee for the guide get distributed .7 person can be in one group.

      @@Indiahikes the inner side of the patella is where it hurts. (The left side of the right knee). It was not a ligament injury and not a bone injury, somewhere in between. I fell in a gutter with a cover with iron rods, one of the rods broke allowing the leg to slip in thigh deep. The tussle of trying to squeeze out the leg created the injury.

      Frankly Sourav, this isn't a very snowy trek. But if you would really want to see snow, go in late January or early February. That's when you'll see the most snow.

    If we cannot run what is other way to prepare

    • @Indiahikes
      @Indiahikes  5 месяцев назад

      While running is the best way to prepare, the alternative exercise will be stair climbing, as it builds your cardio and strengthens your leg muscles. However, if you prefer to cycle or swim, ensure that you add other forms of exercise which can improve your legs. Other exercises you can do with swimming or cycling
      1. Skipping
      2. Jumping Jacks
      3. Squats
      All these exercises build strength in your legs, so swimming and cycling combined with these exercises can replace running.
