I remember rolling with Walid when I was a blue belt and poking him in the eye by accident.. I shit myself, he could be real nasty if he wanted to be, but he was cool, I was still so embarrassed though

I live in the deep south in USA and I currently travel over one hour each way to train with a good academy (Blake wood bjj via Roberto Traven). If I was you I would definitely make the trek to this top notch school. This school is known AROUND the world as being one of the best. If it is important to you, you will find a way and if it isn't you will find an excuse. Don't make an excuse and take stock in the fact you are actually lucky you have this even remotely available to you.
      Now go train!!

@@cassiusclaynyc It takes me one hour to get to work, so the travelling is just an excuse in my eyes. If someone was serious, they would make time.

lad,if striking were allowed they wouldnt spar the same way,it would be much more straight forward and agressive, clinch, takedown and top control, few punches and choke out. A non grappler hasnt a hope against a trained one near the same size in a real fight, youre striking wont matter,no matter how good.
