  • A truly miserable undertaking this was. I don't love this boss normally, but I found it painful to do this without getting hit. This is because of his large move set that contains a number of poor telegraphs and moves that are undodgeable without a cautious approach. When you're able to trade hits with him, you can play more aggressively and have a good time. Not so here, however. For example, in his sword phase, he can follow his thrust with a sword sweep randomly. If you are attacking, there is literally nothing you can do--you'll just get caught in that hit. Similarly, he has a three move sword combo. There are two versions of this; they are both identical except that in one, there's a slight delay in the backhand. Although there is some nearly instantaneous telegraphing in the shuffling of his feet, it's otherwise impossible to tell the difference, and if you are rolling in, you'll get caught if he does the delay. Conversely, if you try to delay, you'll get caught if he doesn't delay. The only way to deal with this in a no-damage context is to dodge the first two moves out, and then dodge the third back in for the punishment. All in all, it's just not a playstyle that I find remotely fun. I'm excited to play this regularly now though, as I think I'll enjoy it a lot more without having to worry about whether a magic projectile is going to take off a molecule of my health.

I love watching you fight all these bosses - it's not something I want to put in the time to learn how to do myself, but it's still oddly satisfying to watch you do it!

Thanks man! Glad someone's enjoying it--almost makes the pain of doing it bearable hahaha
