Tariq’s switch up has been confusing. With Franklin, you could tell he felt indifferent about his actions and the way he ruined his community but he convinced himself to keep moving forward. Whereas Tariq hasn’t spoken to anyone who knew Ghost personally. Some random drug dealer told him “your dad was good at this shit” and all of a sudden Tariq has a deep understanding of Ghost’s motives and mindset.
Your reading too deep in to his words it’s merely an analysis of ghost actions towards him and what makes sense to him. His decisions aren’t based on other mere dealers, he always has the idea to have the “money and power” to help his fam and lost his way throughout trying to do so he damn near wasn’t even striving for that anymore until now

Franks was way more in depth Tariq’s was shorter bc he already had those dreams about the bodies his was purely to choose to put both feet into the game instead of trying to be like ghost and go half and half. Both served different purposes only thing similar is they were tweaking. I wouldn’t say copied a lot it’s a smart way to show some self reflection
