Thank you for your reviews and videos. My wife brought me the beast over the magma based on your reviews. I am really happy with the board. For the price I think it's great quality. One point as I tested it out yesterday (Feb 2020) after it was in the cold water it needed a bit more air as it had dropped a couple of PSI. The handling was much better at the correct pressure.
@@AshleyKitto Great stuff Ashley, like you said at your weight more psi really will give the boards better performance. It will have to be very cold for your board to drop psi in one session. Keep an eye on it!? Thanks Reuben
@@SUPboardermag it was its first use and the water in Cardiff bay was cold. I think because it was the first time it was inflated that may have also been a factor . I did get it to 15 PSI and when I checked it after 20 mins it was around 13.5 PSI. When it was back at 15 it was so much more stable
@Ashley Kitto .. What was the deciding factor in buying the Beast rather than the Magma ? There seems to be a lot of boards and many are quite similar. I'm thinking about buying one, which would be used at the coast. I've never tried a SUP but have rowed in the past and hired sit on top kayaks, but it seems SUP's are the current craze.
Great review, definitely worth considering if you're looking at entry level iSUP's. It would be great if you would do some reviews on some of the popular ones found on Amazon (ie: Bright Blue and Thursosurf). Thanks!!
Great review. I have a Aqua Marina Monster from 2018 with a mount base for a camera. However, I don't have anything to put in this base. Do you have any recommendations? I have seen that the Beast also has the same kind of mount base. That's why I'm asking
hmm I think you should of had a mount in your board package. Probably best to contact a few AQ shops to see if they have any available. I don't believe the newer 2020 + boards come with them anymore. Thanks Reuben
Either board would be suitable for your needs. if you are a lighter paddler under 90kg, then the Aqua Marina might be the better choice as it is narrower and would be easier to paddle. The Decathlon X100 11ft (I assume is the one you are looking at?) is 34" wide, so super stable and would be easy to balance on, but technique might not be helpful as the board is wide. Hope that helps. Thanks, Beau
Hey Bojan, they come with a 3 piece aluminum, its OK but basic. They will get you on the water for a summer for sure. But if you get into the sport you will upgrade it for sure. I would say an OK paddle for the price of the board. Sorry we didn't include it in the review. Thankjs Reuben
With what you fixed, glue or something else, the support for camera ? I just got one and i dont kow wth what fix this to resist also in water !? I have he new model BEAST 2021 and don't have this mounted or in accesories, a friend bought me and sent me this...
We have used the 3M sticky double sided pads to stick our GOpros on in the passed. Its also a good idea to tie the camera into the bungees too. Hope that helps Reuben
@@SUPboardermag Thank you very much, i apreciate...i fixed the camera for the moment on the dry bag and under elastic cord, until i get the device to fix on the SUP and some 3M...
Hello, for me (70kg) and my gf (55kg), could it be suitable for medium and short distances while she's sit on the front (like the baby in the video) and me being in the back? Or i should rather go for the new 12" ... I think 12" would be excesive but I'd like to know your opinion :)
Going for a board with a bit more length would be better, you're right. The new Magma would work well. But for the most stability the Monster would be best. The only problem with the Monster is it wont be as nice to paddle on your own, if one of you wants to do that? thanks Reuben
Yes it will but I think not if you are paddling the same temperature all day. For example if you pumped your board up somewhere cold and then took it to some very hot water afterwards that would be a change in pressure. But if you pump it up in a hot area and a paddle it in a hot area it won't make much difference. But definitely try and keep it out of the sun and store the board flat in the shade when not using it. Hope that helps? Reuben
I buy a aqua marina breeze (im 65-68kg) but not sure if i do the right option cuz is hard to stay on top, im very new on this, only 2 weeks and supose its a matter of time to catch practice, but am glad because buy it in offer only for 250€, so hope you can review on this board to know... (sorry me bad english :/)
Thanks for your comment. The breeze is a good size board for you and when you get the feel of it, it will be fine for your weight. Being 30'' wide its not as stable as the wider boards but because of this it will be easy to paddle in a straight line and offer you a good amount of glide for your weight. Give yourself a few goes on it and I'm sure you will be fine. Thanks Reuben
Poor quality. EVA foam layer is painted and the rear black stripes on the sides leave hard to clean black marks on clothes. My SUP after 2 days looks like a banana.
Hmmm that doesn't sound great. All of our 2019 boards we have been testing have lasted well. And we found the rocker line is very different to the 2018 boards.

Is this your go-to entry-level recommendation? I was considering the Decathlon entry level model on offer at the moment. Is this worth the extra £100?

What about that basic paddle that comes with the board? Is it good enough? Nothing to say about that?

Can't find a replacement pump, is there a certain type of valve that would work?
Hi Any iSUP pump will fix the Aqua Marina boards.
Does the water temperature affects the air pressure inside the board? Im just curious as i live in the middleeast and summer here can reach upto 50°c.

What does it mean 'a little bit longer to pump...'? Does it really take 15-20 min?
No more like 5mins.
just curious what's the animal on the back of the board?
Hi, What time in the video?

@@SUPboardermag for example, i know the animal on back of aqua marina thrive is a turtle. haha
How would you rate it compared to boards like the Jobe Duna or the older Aqua marina boards?
