Very nice review, it's really not lacking any important fact about the bag - I have been watching your reviews of the 16l and 20l so often, because I could not decide, which one to buy as an additional bag for my raccoon 85l. It was really a help, I feel quite confident now, that the 16l sparrow is the perfect additional bag for my main backpack, thanks a lot :)
Moritz, thank you for the good feedback on my videos. Please share your experience with the pack, as we all can learn from it. Stay dry! Kind regards Claus "Claude" S. Andersen
hello again Kurt I wished you had told which color the packs are because on you tube reviewing trough the camera they look totally different than through the company photos display on their web page . thank you
Tks for fab review . I like you can remove straps to grab & go. lots of long straps & clip on points looks like good small bag. TU & SUB . Greetings from Scotland Rob
Rob, thank you very much for the nice words :-) Yea, I think it's a great pack to the price. Please spread the word so I can get more subscribers. This will inspire me to do more reviews :-) Stay dry! Kind regards Claus "Claude" S. Andersen
Sir, first I have to say I'm sorry for the late reply. My job is taking most of my time, but that will change soon, so I'll be able to post more reviews :-) Pheew.. Checked the prices, and I think you are right. The prices have got a bump up :-( Please share your experiences, so we all can learn from them. Stay dry! Kind regards Claus "Claude" S. Andersen
How is the backpack holding up over time? Would you still recommend it? Now that it is getting warmer, does the padding on the back do its job, or is there a lot of sweating involved? How about the straps? I am conflicted between this pack and the Sparrow 20 which has a superior ventilation system. On the other hand i would definitely prefer the Sparrow 16 if ventilation is sufficient.
matrigs, thank you for your questions. After using the pack during the summer in 2015, I sold it. The quality of the straps is excellent. I used the Sparrow 20 at the same time, but didn't notice any major difference with the ventilation system. Depending on what purpose for the use of the pack, I personally prefer the Sparrow 20 because I think the Sparrow 16 is a little on the small side. Please subscribe / spread the word as it makes it more easy to do more reviews. Stay dry. Claus "Claude" S. Andersen
Thanks for the swift and detailed answer! I would definitely prefer the Sparrow 16 when it comes to size / weight but as mentioned before, was a little afraid that i might loose comfort due to the construction. If i might ask another question though - was pilling of garments ever a problem with this pack? I think you might have seen that there is a newer version of the Sparrow 20, which has the back and straps covered in a fine material instead of the mesh because of complains of pilling as well as collecting dirt. Sadly, due to it's unpopularity Wisport stopped developing the Sparrow 16 like it does with its bigger brother. Another reason to thank you for the in-depth review which are scarce. Just in case - are there any superior options for a small "half-day-pack" which is light, has around 15 liters, hydration options and eventually a bit of molle / other systems for extending it's volume? Subbed and liked btw. Great channel.
Thank you very much for the nice words :-) Yes, I had the same problem with the mesh. It collected a lot of debris and pineneedles. Looking at other packs I would reccomend the 5.11 Rush 12 or Tasmanian Tiger Observer Pack / Trooper 22 Light Pack or Mission Pack Please spread the word as it makes it more easy for me to do even more reviews. Hello Captain :-), Yes, it's only 40 cm high. Remember, the pack's capacity is only 16L. I'm 183 cm / 92 kg, so on me it looks small :-) Please subscribe and spread the word, if you are satisfied with my reviews. Stay dry! Kind regards Claus "Claude" S. Andersen

Thanks for the review. I’am a satisfied owner of a 30 litres Wisport Caracal looking for a little bit smaller backpack. This Sparrow looks perfect!

Did the price go up pretty drastically in the past few years? I thought it used to be like 50 bucks?

Dang, well that's a lucky catch you had some time ago!
