  • Richard Young (born 1947) is an English society and celebrity photographer. His photography career started in 1974 and since then, he has photographed personalities such as Princess Diana of Wales, Elizabeth Taylor, and Mick Jagger.
Richard shares what it was like taking photos of Diana when she went on her first official engagement in 1980 wearing the 'now famous' black Emanuel strapless dress. He captured her bending down getting out of the car. He remembers how 'explosive' the image was at the time and how it was shared all around the world.
He also shares how he was selected to attend Princess Grace's funeral where he captured Diana again just a year later.
He shares: "Diana used to steal my carrots and crudites"
He then shares the last time he ever photographed Diana on her 36th birthday at the Tate Gallery. Diana was to die in Paris in the horrific car accident just a few months later.
