I saw that the other video you had posted about the deterioration on the headers was suddenly marked private. I hope that all works out for you. The service you do in bringing issues like this up is absollutely invaluable to us. This could happen to any bike from any manufacturer, but now the onus is on BMW to show how they support their very expensive product.

I traded my 2022 RT. I got the blue with all the options. I love the handling of the new Evo suspension. the windscreen is absolutely amazing on the highway. I won’t miss my RT faring.

Oh, I know the feeling.... Nov 21st, I test rode a 2023 R 1250 GS, Trophy, in Blue.... 6 miles on it. Test rode it for 7 miles, and was back the following morning, closing the deal. BMW Motorcycles Ventura, CA, ask for Dagan, he just might make you an offer you can't refuse. Followed with a Black Friday sale, saved $500 on Vario side bags, for a pair. Adding some Touratek cylinder head tube protectors.

Yea, so true. It's really very simple, it does everything and I mean everything well. Sure there are others that are better in certain categories, for example - KTM = off-road, Ducati = performance, Triumph = on-road & looks. But the GS does all 3 and does all 3 very well...that is the secret of a good ADV bike. But the other secret is that BMW has been doing this since 1980, a lot longer than any of the others. 😁👍

This just what the Doctor ordered as I ride an Rt 2 up here in the Alps and am looking for Bike that is a bit more nimble in the Alps when riding 2 up. I have the new Gs 1300 on my radar and so therefore am looking forward to your future comparisons.
The RT would win on weather protection I feel. I'll never own any BMW but I own a 2015 Triumph Trophy SE which is a copy of an RT except for the engine, the silky smooth 3 cylinder I prefer over a boxer twin any day.
Nice one. The all black is cool on that new GS. Interesting the center stand assist lol. They should also make a stripped base version. My ‘05 a still runs like a Swiss watch, so these are a solid investment. 👌🏽

Yeah, that 1300 GS has a LOT of new goodies, including changing the location of the transmission. Like you, I bought a 2023 RT and really love that bike and have learned to ride it fast, but recently I rode a Pikes Peak and it ruined me. So my RT is up for sale. Hi Scott, I have just signed up for a 1300gs and await its delivery. I did trade my RT1250 as the roads around here are narrow and the surfaces bumpy. I was frustrated when i placed my order for the bike as I didnt want the vario gear preferring to fit my existing touratech panniers. However, I could not opt to deselect the touring pack (with the vario pannier rails) as I would lose the gps mount. The only way round it was to opt for the base model and spec. it up accordingly. But if do this I would find the resale value would be less simply because it wouldn't be a TE model. so net result i end up with rails I have to remove! I will be interested to see which aftermarket luggage you opt for. Great channel by the way. keep up the good work. Paul
If I would shop for any BMW bike, I would buy the RT1250. The new RT1300 is coming soon enough. These are good engines, no doubts in my mind. Enjoy the machine. The GS is not a commute bike, IMO.

Thanks for your videos, you always have a great perspective on whatever bike you are checking out. Once you go down the road of doing accessories, you almost never get back what you put out. In investment terms any vehicle never works out to be worth what we pay for them unless we have a collectors item, so we just enjoy what we buy and ride!
Congratulations on acquiring a new toy, interesting colour choice, every new GS1300 I've seen on the road so far have been black !! As for selling your RT , you can never have too many motorcycles in your garage, so keep both the RT & GS and then buy another bike.
Congratulations on buying the new GS ant thank you for your video. I also have the exact same RT as you do aswell as a 1250 GS. I will trade in my GS for the 1300, when my order arrives in January. The RT and the GS are not too similar, so it makes sense to have both bikes. I was thinking of buying the K 1600 GT instead of the RT in order to not have a boxer engine on both bikes. However the K 1600 is much too heavy for me. In my opinion the boxer is the best engine concept.
