Mingyu Kim could be the one to get sick, which would add a lot of pressure on the group because he's the glue.
And hes also the only reason Daniel doesn't do anything to Bonnie, cuz hurting her would make Mingyu sad.

i was thinking the same! and what if the explanation for how it happened is something like "the magic doesn't care about silly human things like being blood related, they are perfect for continuing bonnie's legacy!" or even "well bonnie *is* their mom, motherhood is earned with care and effort"
bonnie might not be interested in romantic relationships but i bet if she found a ✨weird✨ kid she vibes with... it might awaken something 👀
Cheap way out, the child happens to be a distant relative and therefore counts. Better answer the cat is her familiar, therefore it counts
the random old ocs are so real because i loved and cherished them and i made them into completely better people (to my standards) and it makes me so happy to bring them back

Also abt you feelin a lil silly talkin' abt ur ocs, don't lean into it too much. plus, it actually helped alot while i was tryin' to develop my own OCs' lore
While you were sharing Daniel and Mingyu's sweet relationship, it finally made me realized a specific word i've been lookin for (it's queerplatonic...very unrelated ik) but yea, your rambling actually bring more brainstorms or layers for storytelling ngl ☆ (oso yay am early ^v^)

Honestly, I think your old art style was super cute! You've definitely grown a lot but considering how long ago it was that you drew like that, it's a good art style: simple, easy to draw, and really cute! Just saying this to give your past self some credit too ♡♡♡
I kinda have some headcanons about those characters now, im just kinda really excited about new character of you, so lets go!
Bonnie: I think she is kinda one of those deep and well written, like, witches and magic are deep things so; I think Bonnie is afraid of hurting or make something wrong for the people she likes, For me, this could be another reason why she doesn't have many friends or people close to her.
Sam: her relationship/development with Bonnie? OMG!! I think she there were a lot of complications to know if she liked Bonnie or not, like, a deep struggle against herself, she thought of Bonnie as a friend or a romantic interest (also when I heard which wasn't reciprocal, I was like "OMG IS A TOXIC YURI" ) Another headcanon is that she I was interested in being a tattoo artist and learning about tattoos and piercings!!
Mingyu: He looks really pookie bear for me, and about his birthmark? I LOVE IT!! Also, in my mind, his birthmark was smaller in the past, like an event between him and Bonnie when they were children, like, Bonnie's magic affected some aspect of his health and she became extremely desperate, but he doesn't remember anything anymore (it could be because of magic too???)
Daniel: the "WITCHHHH!! >:0" guy, omg, i love the intro between him and mingyu, they look cute like Charlie and Nick from Heartstopper! In my head, he doesn't want to appear fragile in relation to anything or anyone, he also feels quite insecure about looking in the mirror because of his supposed dead brother
Daisy: omg i love she smth!!@@ In my mind, she is a very nice person and one that you would spend hours talking to, in fact! She seems to me to make gifts by hand for those she likes
