I stumbled across Missy Higgins about 20 years ago and I'm so glad I did. Truly one of the best songwriters of a generation. Absolutely timeless. Her live performances are so raw and emotional. Such perfection.

Gänsehaut pur und genau wie bei Camp Copes (mit denen Angie ja auch schon gesungen hat) "Running with the hurricane" und ihrem letzten Konzert im Sydney Opera House war ich wieder einmal kurz davor loszuheulen, was viel schlimmer / schöner ist, als wenn man dies tatsächlich tut.
Toll, dass Angie die Gelegenheit bekommen hat, mit ihrem großen Vorbild zu performen und klasse, wie perfekt die Stimmen harmonieren (dazu kommt dann noch meine Stimme)! Das ist die ideale Musik für die "blaue Stunde" oder für die späte Nacht, um ein wenig herunterzukommen, vor allem im Sommer, wenn die Temperaturen wieder etwas zurückgegangen sind. Gut gefilmt ist das Ganze zudem noch, alles schön reduziert im Dunkeln des Theaters (eine sehr hübsche Location scheint mir, ich habe mich im Netz etwas schlau gemacht). Meine Lieblingsstelle ist diejenige, wo der Trockeneisnebel hereinkommt, da spüre ich regelrecht die leichte Kühle, die da entsteht.
YT hat mir ein paar andere Missy-Videos vorgeschlagen. Früher sah sie ja total anders aus, ich hätte sie jedenfalls nicht wiedererkannt. Auf einigen Bildern hatte sie sogar eine gewisse Ähnlichkeit mit Angie, vielleicht ist sie ja Angies ältere Schwester, die Mutter kann sie aber nicht sein, dafür reicht der Altersunterschied nicht aus. ;-)

I love this so much and I HAVE to find out who Angie McMahon is, but I have to be honest, I wish wish wish the duet was with Missy and Gordi (who is one of my favorite vocalists of the last 30 years). Still I love this.
EDIT: I LOVE this so much. Don't get me wrong, Angie McMahon is absolutely incredible.
It's the other way round in my case. I knew who Angie was, but knew Missy only by her name, because Angie always claims that "The Sound of White" has changed her life. I guess I will search for other Missy videos and maybe also for Gordi ones. Last week I listened to NDR Blue, they had a live performance from another amazing band from Melbourne, the Pierce Brothers. So amazing in fact that I immediately ordered an EP ("Night Tree"). Really great music (Parkway Drive and particularly The Jezabels have to be mentioned, too) coming from Australia at the moment!

Missy Higgins is quite the talent. I'm not familiar with Angie, but she has a great voice. I just wish she'd pronounce the words more clearly, like Missy.
I don’t know what you’re talking about? Angie was annunciating perfectly. I think a couple of things come into play, firstly what device were you using to listen to this? Your speaker quality will play a huge role. The actual sound engineer will have the biggest influence on the outcome, a lot of performers have a preference of type and brand of microphone so it’s very likely Missy’s microphone was her own and not part of the general set up of the venue?
But most importantly of all Angie was most respectfully not competing with nor trying to out perform Missy. She was essentially a backup singer who harmonised perfectly.
And by reading through the comments it seems that it was impromptu, Missy must’ve recognised Angie in the audience and invited Angie to join her and if that is the case the sound engineer would have been caught off guard with no rehearsal they would have had to wing it and if that is the case that makes the performance all the more spectacular.
So cool missy got the door girl up on stage with her.

I feel Missy Higgins voice has changed since she was younger. There seemed to be more emotion in her songs back then which made them great. Maybe because of what she was going through at the time. She seems kind of tired now. Don't get me wrong still an amazing singer.
