@@Web497 yeah you're right, klaus wouldn't kill someone he truly cares about but emotionless stefan... I don't want to say more just incase Jeremy is reading the comments, so if you are jear bear, look away now. Stefan was willing to kill Caroline, elena, Bonnie, and even his own brother without his humanity. Not to mention he has such a craft with killing, until he turns into a full blown ripper. Then it gets messy lol
she did so good omg... I mentioned this in another comment but what's actually sad is that Kat said Bonnie is dear to her because (minus the supernatural stuff) what Bonnie was going through on screen was often something she was dealing with in some way off screen at the time. I remember an interview where she said the episode Grams dies was shot a day after she buried her grandmother in real life.
This is what's annoying to me. Everyone else is allowed to grieve however they want, no matter how many bodies pile up or who gets hurt. But Care and Bonnie are not? Just because they're inherently good? Caroline even without her humanity was being very logical and smart. She knew her friends wouldn't rest until they get her back so she was very clear that she just needs a little time and they shouldn't intervene if they don't want bodies to pile up. I think that's a pretty reasonable argument coming from a no humanity person. They should've respected that.
Who has been allowed to grieve on this show though? People called Elena annoying for doing exactly the same thing Caroline is doing. Elena was forced to turn it off then forced to turn it on, she wasn't allowed to grief at all. Stefan got hated for his method of moving on by Caroline. Elena went a few days of erasing her memories before Stefan told her about it. No one on this show has ever had a moment to grief. Bonnie is the only character that got to do so for her grams and her mother. When Jenna and John died (Elena had to go take care of a dying Damon) and Isabel she had the threat of Klaus upon her. She never got one moment to just sort her emotions out.
@@iambluegossip I mean nah Bonnie really didn't, she got called back early from grieving to help her friends and was also asked by her best friend to essentially get along with the guy Bonnie blamed for what had happened to Grams. She was allowed to hate on Damon bc everyone else did at the time, but Bonnie had to give the whole "I won't make you choose so don't make me" speech about Stefan to Elena. And then Caroline had to explain to Elena why she needed to give Bonnie her space. Which kinda had its own purpose defeated bc again Bonnie was needed to help the main crew and interaction was inevitable. Her choice of grief was holing up inside her home and crying it out. Annnd Stefan told Elena about her compelling her emotions away, but that didn't make those feelings come back and she continued to live without them for a while. She got to actively choose to keep living without them for the entire duration of Damon and Bonnie being gone. Even when Damon came back, everyone down to Alaric was adamant about it being Elena's choice. And ultimately it was. When she proposed the idea everyone STILL was supportive in a "its your choice I guess" sense. Elena was "forced" to turn it off after saying to make (the pain from losing Jeremy) stop over and over and then Stefan telling Damon to do something about it. He should NOT have gone as far as he did by telling her to turn her humanity off, but making it stop in general was a request. So I imagine what Stefan had expected and what Elena wanted was more like "compel her to feel less pain" without taking away her humanity completely... like how she had him do for Jeremy. And we can't ignore that Elena herself calls them choices in this episodes. Mistakes, but ones she was in on. So yeah... everyone else chose their way to grieve and got to fight for it and turn people away without the kind of fight on it that Caroline and Bonnie got here. Caroline hadn't even turned it off yet lol. Everyone else at least got to make that decision first before the judgment came in. Only person who didn't decide for themselves was Jeremy... bc Elena had him compelled.
@@alaurent2679 actually no. Bonnie got back only after her mom seemed to be adjusting a little better. She got like a week or two off to just be with her mom. Elena didn't as to be compelled she asked for the pain to stop as everyone in that situation does. She did not ask Damon to make her feel less pain by compelling it away. That was on Stefan and Damon, Elena literally fought the compulsion because Damon had to repeat it for her to actually turn it. And yes they tortured her to switch it back on. There was no choice there. As for Damon's death. Yes she wanted a clean start without guilt for compelling Damon away. She did not get what she wanted because Stefan revealed everything and while she didn't remember, she couldn't exactly live freely because this what if was always there and there was that conflict. Her choice was a clean start. Nobody gets to grieve on this show. Except Bonnie who is seen to check out from the group for a couple of days at least. And Caroline didn't need to explain anything to Elena, Elena understood immediately... Caroline said that for the audience to understand Bonnie's motivation. And Elena gave her her space as she requested. Again something nobody else gets on thus show except Bonnie. As for Jeremy you could use the same argument you tried to use against Elena and her being compelled. Both wanted the pain gone and the people in their lives went too far. That isn't an answer to a request.
Love their friendship but I feel bad for Bonnie in the scene where Damon takes Kai to where she is even after she said that she didn’t want to see him. She’s traumatized, her mind went back to the prison world 😭
that hurt me, like jeez even when Bonnie finally gets a super supportive friend character that goes super hard for her above others, they still sometimes ignore what might tear her apart emotionally because they want/need something from her. even the guy that experienced limbo with her? I love Bamon's friendship so much too (one of my top 3 dynamics in the show tbh) but just yikes man
@@alaurent2679 this is exactly how i feel. damon could have also just told bonnie about the issue with his mum instead of bringing kai to the rave. it’s just so frustrating when people don’t take bonnie’s issues seriously
@@daraakindele9053 exactly, like they were so close and she already had some insight on the stuff about his mom. if he had just gone so "Hey, that might really be my mom and there's some crazy stuff going on there... she may be trapped in a prison world like we were Bon and the only idiot that seems to have info on her is Kai. I know you hate him, but he wants to make this deal where he'll only help me if I get you to hear him out and forgive him. You shouldn't, its stupid... so any other ideas on how we can find this info out together and tell Kai to screw off?" and knowing bonnie she wouldve just pretended to forgive kai for damon and then they could've planned some revenge thing together on him. Like they basically do in the next episodes lol or, ya know, anything that considered her feelings more ugh
In one episode of Caroline being on screen without her humanity she has said “Remind me why we’re glad she’s [Bonnie] back again”, said the same thing as Elena about consequences if someone tries to bring her humanity back, compelled Liam to take Sarah’s heart out, and made Stefan shut off his humanity as well.
@@yonnaminor5125 no, remember the waitress? she killed her and she told stefan and damon that there would be more bodies if they tried to bring her back. that had nothing to do with the prom dress, she stole it just to piss caroline off
@@yonnaminor5125 That’s not the only thing Elena did but I’m saying all this Caroline stuff happened in one episode yet when Elena had her humanity off, she got hated on.
this episode really highlights how within the show Caroline and Bonnie were unfairly held to a different standard when grieving/traumatized. Even the people that should know/understand where they're coming from the most... 100% I get why turning off one's humanity is wrong, but I remember watching and going "Caroline's being really... reasonable and in control for someone with no humanity?? like she's even giving a deadline for when she'd allow them to reverse it..." And then they provoked her and I face palmed.
Yeah cause when elena did not want the cure or to turn her emotions back on and killed that waitress which is the exact same thing carolines doing they backed off right? Caroline's humanity swith kind of mirrors elena's especially when you look at the circumstances.
@@sassysd1232 Their situations are actually really different when you look at the circumstances. Elena's humanity being turned off clearly wasn't the plan based on Stefan's reaction and Damon's coaxing- it wasn't what Stefan and Elena had in mind and I'm assuming they were thinking more along the lines of "compel her to forget this one source of grief" especially since that's what Damon had already done for Jeremy before and later when Elena has the chance again to make a similar choice, that's exactly what she does for herself with Ric- chooses to forget the pain but not turn her humanity off. So for starters Stefan and Damon see it as THEIR mistake more than Elena's chosen turn for the worst. On top of that Elena burns her house and brother's body down right after her humanity being shut off... her first bad/crazy/"man she's gonna regret this we gotta bring her back" action came RIGHT after her humanity was shut off and wasn't that waitress. The main crew already had a reason to be like "get her back". Caroline didn't though. She fed on Liam and then made up this logical deal... she hadn't killed anyone, burned down any buildings, gotten rid of anything she shouldn't have... the equivalent for her would've been like idk trashing her mom's grave or burning down her old house. She showed more control though, and there was no reason for them to assume she'd go crazy till they legit provoked her themselves. Even Elena shows hesitation when Stefan wants to push it with Caroline. They only showed hesitation with Elena bc Elena had already showed she was in the state of no-humanity where anything goes by burning down her childhood home and her brother's body. She killed later to stop them from trying to change her, she was being reckless before then though. I will say in both cases though the main cast gives off heavy vibes of :you're not being like yourself even when you aren't necessarily being dangerous so me trying to bring you back has a bit more to do with how I feel than what's good for you right now" which... yeah lol yikes on both cases.
Stefan wasnt just dumb because he tried to get Caroline to turn her humanity back on in the least conspicuous way although that's true too. He was also dumb because he actually turned his humanity off like that was actually going to help. Elena saved Sarah and Stefan was definitely not thinking straight or trusting that she could do it.
@@Web497 it could have been so much better if she was more involved not with Matt but they made a pointless storyline in this case because it resulted in nothing really
Pretty sure the writers were just trying to keep Enzo in without tying him to the main characters... along with Bonnie, Ian said he wouldn't continue with the show if they killed Enzo off. I'm not sure how serious he was but they kept Enzo in even after they killed him lol... I like his character, but you can tell the writer's weren't really invested in him this season
@@judithbonsu8398 This is semi long but I was so upset about how week the Sarah plot went I had to add! I feel like even with Matt they could've made it cool. I just wish she had more going on than just Enzo using Matt to help with this diabolical scheme that lost its edge as soon as it started. Bc we're told Stefan cares about her way more than we're shown (we could've had some scenes this season of him checking in or helping her in some way from afar so that we warm up to their connection). I feel like the Sarah plot was this super (like Jer said) filler to toss the side characters Enzo, Sarah, and Matt a bone. At least with Jeremy they wrote him off completely for a bit instead of dragging him through a boring side-plot 😭 This episode Sarah isn't even necessarily in danger bc of the Enzo/Matt stuff... its bc no humanity Caroline wanted to hit Stefan where it would hurt (again told more than shown so ehhh on the impact and dramatics of him turning his humanity off for her). So basically Sarah's relevancy here didn't need any of the past few episodes like ?? lol Actually I think it would've been more impactful if we just heard about Sarah's existence through Stefan sharing this secret with Caroline during one of their moments (instead of us finding out bc of an imposter that comes to town, gets attacked, and sleeps with Jeremy only to die a few episodes later???), then Caroline's humanity is off and she uses Sarah as bait and *that's* our visual intro to the character and makes the betrayal from Stefan's pov more earnest and a shock for us as the audience. The 3 of them could've been used in such a cooler way together, especially if the point was to show a human Salvatore. Sarah would be the only new human character in the show that knows absolutely nothing about this world... and I feel like they wrote her plot whenever they had time off from writing the main characters or were bored lol
@@alaurent2679 absolutely they could have had more humans in the team it would have balanced out the characters but they missed their chance given her such a useless plot
I’ve always low key thought they should’ve left Caroline alone to have her year because she probably wouldn’t have killed anyone but I understand why they didn’t want to
I thought about what Caroline said in the last episode though, that Elena came out the other end of her mistakes (turning off humanity, erasing her memories) with the worst part of the pain gone... But that can't really be said, because both Jeremy and Damon came back, which was the main reason she didn't have to feel the pain after she turned hee humanity back on. So they don't know how much of the pain she really would have felt in the time after that... 🤔
especially since Caroline knows its absolutely impossible to bring her mom back... like she wasn't in any way supernatural, and she knows the other side is gone anyway. So she can't even have a little hope that maybe her mom could be brought back the way other characters could've theorized the people that "died" returning. Even Matt got (false, lol) hope that Vicki could be brought back at one point.
Exactlyyy! I don't know who wrote that scene but Elena could've used so many more argument points but instead she just stood there waffling on about nonsense.
@@tloj2469 like I legit feel like "Shutting off my emotions just delayed how long it took for me to grieve and start finding some kind of normal again, and I missed so much time with the people I still had around me that I cared about" or SOMETHING 😭
ahhh 😌 this episode...I’ve always loved this ep solely because of that scene when Stefan turns off his humanity as well, it was a really nice shot with him and Caroline. And I also must add that I love Caroline’s vampire face in the scene where she bites Liam 🥳 I pretty much like all of their vampire faces I just think there cool lol Loved the reaction today Jer ❤️❤️
I think bc everyone knows Stefan out of everyone is his worst when his humanity off since he’s the ripper so his is more dramatic out of everyone. iconic 🥰
Stefan: Completely empty, Caroline took everything away except the doors .... strange for someone who set the house on fire .... I love Stefan's subtle sarcasm 😂😂
there is a difference in the level of extinction of humanity between Caroline and Elena, Elena has been extinguished humanity completely, Caroline is in the light phase of her extinguished humanity. Feels emotions but lives them without remorse and without guilt, Elena was devoid of emotions😉
Elena: What did you do to Liam? Caroline: I ate it, it was so delicious 😂 Elena, I turned off my humanity I didn't turn into an idiot .... I want a year without suffering, remorse and guilt ... it also decides how much it must be with the extinct humanity ...
OOoof this episode. I remember the fandom getting so pissed at Bonnie for her reaction to Kai and that upsets me more and more the more time passes from my first watch. Essentially, the fandom expected Bonnie to just accept her 2 time stabber, 1 time abandoner so that she was driven to near insanity and severe depression, sadistic traumatizing enemy as made over again just because they liked Kai. I LOVE Kai's character, but its rough how the same fandom that'll acknowledge Bonnie wasn't treated right in the show and outside of it (as the writers were... oof) is the same fandom that says she should've just forgiven her abuser bc he's hot... like cmon lol.
You are absolutely right I love Bonnie is my favorite female character I love her character lies in her right to hate kai and not to forgive him above all everything is very fresh and recent, Kai cannot expect that with an excuse he can be forgiven, I agree in forgiving and giving a new opportunity but forgiveness must be earned and sweated not with an excuse, also because the evil done was intentionally, wanted.
@@mluizafs exactly! I think it was the enemies to lovers vibe, like a replica of how Damon and Bonnie went from enemies to close friends... but the show didn't bring Kai around to earning a better dynamic with Bonnie so really I don't get why people wanted her to just suddenly be cool and in love with him or something here when he hadn't been developed as having a better dynamic with her. Like she's legit still traumatized and he's only apologizing to make amends for his newly found conscious... that's beyond a toxic ship pls 😭
@@andreearamona1 Yup, plus Kai is "turning over a new leaf" but really only because he has parts of Luke's goodness in him. So I feel like the question is well is Kai even truly becoming better, or is it just because of the merge with Luke? Either way agreed! Bonnie deserved the time to heal and forgive only *if* she wanted to.
@@alaurent2679 Exactly you are right it does not deserve forgiveness and I do not like the idea of Bonnie and Kai together absolutely never would it be more than a toxic relationship it would be abnormal sick I repeat I agree to forgiveness but it must not be earned over time. Forgiving makes you pass and move on but not like that because he said an apology.
Exactly! With no humanity she STILL used logical tactics and stayed within a realm of being "reasonable". She even basically said it'd be ok to reverse things once a year had passed bc she only asked for a year to not be messed with... so basically she proposed being left alone for a year but *not* going around killing people or going too crazy and then... bring her back to her normal self. Like she... bruh lol. Not saying without humanity people should be logical, it makes sense why they aren't... its just crazy how much control and thought Caroline was able to put into things and that she only kinda acted like a true no-humanity vamp when they started pushing her assuming she was just like them.
"He deserves it, he's gross" made me cackle. Humanityless Caroline is fun af. I love that she lays out terms and conditions, and the follows through so brutally when they're broken. Making Stefan turn on his switch is a brilliant move. Caroline is a force to be reckoned with. Love Bonnie, her anger is completely reasonable, Kat gives a fantastic performance.
I always wondered why Stefan didn’t just fake it? Like tell her you turned it off, save Sarah and then everything’s ok! Unless Caroline could somehow sense it
Imo this episode is The best Kai look 👏👏 His vibe is just everything. I mean look at himmm, his RINGS, the coat, the whole bisexual vibe he’s got going on 😩 He’s my FAVOURITE tvd character
I loved Caroline so much for what she said to Stefan ... "you saw Stefan it wasn't that hard, it took years, the cancer and the death of my mother and now my extinction of humanity to know what you feel for me .... 👏👏
Is this confirmation that Caroline liked Stefan for years? I know she had a little crush on him in the beginning but that line suggests she's liked him the whole time
Ian Somerhalder directed this episode, it's one of my favorite episodes. And that last shot....iconic. I mean I wanted Stefan and Caroline together, granted they're being together as psychopaths and partners in crime but I'll take what I can get.
I always enjoyed no-humanity Stefan, but I have to say when I watched it for the first time no-humanity Caroline was just as annoying to me as no-humanity Elena 😅 And back then I didn't even notice that Caroline more or less 'offered them the same deal' like Elena (if you try to fix me, I will kill someone). Yeah I don't care for the Enzo and Sarah storyline much either. I don't know how, but Enzo kinda annoyed me with that 'revenge' storyline, but I still loved him as a character at the same time. It's probably one of my least favourite episodes of this season, but it's still good. That's just part of why I love this season.
6:07 I was happy when you said that 10:46 Bonnie: If I see your face again. I'll melt it off. Me: 😯😯😯😍😍😍🤤😃😃😃 mixed emotions, and after that opening the door w majic and walking out was badass
RIGHT?!?!? I swear every re-watch I struggle to find a reason her deal wasn't something they could let happen at least a little longer! Every single time I rewatch all I end up stuck thinking is that they must've 1) assumed she was actually out of control like they would've been despite there being no evidence she couldn't keep it together or 2) they just wanted Caroline back and for her to grieve the way they thought was best, even though they got to come around to those perspectives with some trial and error she wasn't given the liberty of experiencing
exactly. the bad things she did was after their attempts to get her to turn it back on, which she warned. I just love how this time around Caroline was still in control and somewhat reasonable while her humanity is off.
It’s not in this reaction but Caroline saying Elena makes this about her as if Elena isn’t just trying to stop her from doing things she’ll regret/hurting Sarah is annoying. When someone is doing messed up things, you as a friend share your experience if you went through something similar so that they can possibly avoid making the same mistakes. And how ironic that Caroline basically said the same thing no humanity Elena said.
I hate how people don't care when other characters do stuff, but when it's Elena doing the same thing it becomes bad, annoying, wrong or self-centered. I hate it so much how people in the fandom treat the main character.
@@didinau this is why i'm always in the comments defending elena tik tok tvd fandom or something has made it a trend to hate on her instead of the other characters especially male characters who do SO MUCH WORSE like elena can relate just one thing to herself and she gets called all the names in the book when most characters all they DO is ONLY self-motivated 90% of the time and i get maybe it annoys people because she's known as one of the most caring characters but it's not as if elena herself ever claimed that so yeah, i may defend elena too much in the comments but i feel i need to bcause a lot of the hate she gets makes literally no sense epsially when their faves have done the same or worse i don't mind people having character prefrences but just say that instead of nitpicking and coming up with weird stretches out of nothing i also may seem like i'm putting down other characters in the process but they are mostly used as examples as to why it's hyproctical to get mad at elena but not so and so i actually like pretty much every character it's like people have been brainwashed by 'selfish elena comilations' on youtube and tik tok only showing moments of her using words like 'what about me' and stuff like that making her seem that way without context when with context it usually does involve her in one way or another or she's simply asked a question as to why no one told her which caroline also does ALL THE TIME when people don't tell her stuff (in fact she lyells at them for not telling her i-) if you were to make a 'selfless elena' compilation people would think she has no flaws out of context elena does have flaws but i tend not to harp on them as much as other characters just because of the amount of hate she gets in comparison she mourns someone too much, she doesn't mourn them enough, she's not as exicted as she should be, she is too excited i'm tired of all those stupid things she's crtiqued for that make no sense if gives me the 'women should smile more' vibes and again, i'm not saying she's flawless because i wouldn't like her as a character if she was (all characters have flaws) but the complaints about her are usually ridiculous to me
This is honestly my favorite episode in the entire series. Between no humanity Caroline and an episode dealing with Bonnie's return and focusing on her mental health? This is perfection to me. I'm an unapologetic Bonnie and Caroline stan!
I do think that Bonnie was a little extreme with Damon but I totally get it. She wouldn’t know that Kai has some feelings now, and even if she did she has every right to be furious with him after everything he did to her. I don’t think that Damon meant to hurt her by doing that, he didn’t feel like he had another choice to get the info he needed and you can tell he felt really bad afterwards. Even though I don’t like seeing her mad at Damon, one of the things I like about their friendship is that she isn’t afraid to call him out when he does something bad or when he’s being a dick. She does it because she cares about him and wants him to understand. Damon really respects her opinion and she respects him in turn for listening to her and learning from his mistakes.
You're absolutely right I love them both are my favorite characters on the one hand I understand Damon but the more I understand Bonnie in this situation and on the one hand I still like that through magic she shared what Kai did to him.
Caroline is by FAR the best vampire to ever exist. When she's got her humanity off she STILL doesn't kill people as long as her terms are met haha. They honestly should have just let Caroline be and given her some time. It would have been way more efficient then trying to get her to turn it back on so fast.
I don’t ship steroline for various reasons but this episode wasn’t cute to me. Caroline shut off her humanity and was doing bad so she blackmailed/forced stefan to do the same and she was depending on his feelings for her as the deciding factor on her turning off her humanity. Love Caroline individually and ship her with Klaus tho.
this is LONG lmfao but I agree on loving Caroline and shipping her with Klaus! I just wanted to comment on the rest a bit. I mean I don't think no humanity Caroline or this episode was going for cute since the reason for her grief is too heavy for that, and I feel like that gives waaaay too much credit to her view of Stefan's feelings while her *mother* and last living family just died. Caroline wasn't focused on the Stefan romance till the kiss and the day of the funeral bc she was too wrapped up in looking after her mother, and it seemed like just a desperate grab for something positive on Caroline's end that made her ask about their relationship. Its like having a really bad couple of days and then trying to plan a hangout to lift your spirits only for none of your friends to be available and then finally you break down. You're not breaking down *bc* of those friends. Its just that all the bigger things finally topple over, and you've hit a catalyst which isn't the same as a deciding factor. And I still feel her mom and the funeral/wake was a catalyst way more than Stefan was. All that happens in regards to the romance from her perspective is no humanity Caroline throwing it in Stefan's face to hurt him bc that's what every character with no humanity does. They guilt trip the people trying to help them to manipulate them into stopping or hurting just as bad. Stefan did it to Elena, Elena did it to Caroline, Bonnie, Stefan and Damon, Damon did it to Lexi, Enzo did it to Stefan. Also this is just a recycled storyline. Stefan, Damon, Enzo, and Elena all turned their humanity off when the going got tough and pushed away the people that could help them come back like Caroline does here. That makes sense even if its not right ya know? Like I don't condone it, but it makes sense especially with how this show goes. Caroline ultimately only went after Stefan bc Stefan pushed a mostly reasonable Caroline after she warned everyone and told him to back off. Its exactly what Stefan did to her previously with his humanity *on* actually. He hurt her and distanced himself bc he didn't want to grieve properly and knew she would want/allow him to. Only difference is Caroline's got the excuse of no humanity and therefore no conscious to *want* to do right by him. Stefan hurt her like that perfectly aware of the damage it was doing... (That's not me blaming Stefan for trying to get her back either per se, bc its totally understandable why he wanted to.) SPOILER The fact that no-humanity Stefan insults Caroline by saying she can't even do the no cares no humanity thing "right" bc she still clearly cares about things and has to keep things in order and control... and Damon makes that comment about her holding on to her halo even without humanity? I feel those really sum up just how decent she was still doing before they provoked her lol. This is just another perspective, not an attack or desire to debate from a bad place though I'd be interested in other moments that made you feel your perspective that I may have missed or seen different!
the first part I agree with. I ship steroline to an extent though , never shipped her with klaus , I found it very one sided but they had good chemistry. my crackship for Caroline was Damon even though I’m a bamon shipper , I ship Caroline and him *LOGICALLY * bc Damon was always everyone’s second choice and the same went with Caroline. I feel like they would’ve made more sense. with some chemistry added ofc
@@alaurent2679 I agree, I don’t think the writers were going for cute. What I said is my own opinion on the episode bc of the comments hyping up the fact that they both turned off their humanities. I also agree that Caroline turning off her humanity did make sense given all the emotions she had and that the situation with Stefan was just another thing that added to everything. It wasn’t a single moment, but I remember the convo she had with Elena before turning off her emotions about if things would have been different if Stefan said something and then sterolines convo in this episode. It makes it seem like all she needed was Stefan to say he felt the same and then she wouldn’t have shut it off, I’m not particularly a fan of that being a catalyst for her decision. As for things that make me not really ship steroline romantically I’ll probably be commenting when we get to certain episodes, bc a lot of it is in s7, but to sum it up based more on what’s already happened: In the beginning episodes of season 6 we see Caroline bring up Stefan constantly and want him to come back while he’s simultaneously avoiding her. I know why he’s avoiding her but then when he does show up, he intends to and does dump the responsibility of Ivy onto her. He just plans to leave her with a new vampire without saying anything which is messed up to me. This next one could possibly be more of the writers fault but I feel like Caroline was also constantly used to push the dichotomy of bad brother and good brother by having many instances where she’s like ‘Stefan is good’ even whenever he did something bad. When Elena says that for the dance in s3 she’ll just go with her friends, Caroline encourages her to ask Stefan despite him driving Elena to the bridge like a day or two prior. Even if this is just her possibly projecting her feelings for him onto Elena, there’s many scenes where Stefan’s wrongs are made to seem as lesser than what they are or his faults go completely ignored. Despite them having their first kiss in the sixth season, the progression of the relationship felt forced to me bc we only really see Caroline have feelings for Stefan and then him being oblivious for multiple seasons. There’s no actual ‘build up’ showing Stefan’s shift to romantic feelings besides us seeing them tell each other things and then people like Lexi or Enzo implying something with Caroline to Stefan. To me, their relationship always felt like she was more into him than he was into her and I don’t appreciate how he treated her in later seasons. Ironically enough, when they had nice friendship moments I was like ‘oh I could see the writers maybe doing a friends to lovers thing’ but when it actually happened it was underwhelming. I expect the ships on this show to have problems, bc no way are the writers just letting them be happy, but the communication thing is reoccurring. Supernatural problems getting in the way, differences, and even miscommunication once in a while I get and don’t mind but to me for the majority of their relationship there is a lack of communication, which sucks bc as friends they would tell each other things and trust each other. Imo it became boring to watch and I was very over that relationship dynamic. I’ll say one more thing bc I don’t want to make this any longer than I already have but I don’t really like the moment where Caroline says “it’s because of you stefan, I am good bc of you” in regards to her vampirism/control. I would have no problem with that if it were true bc I’m all for a ship that supports each other but that line makes it seem like the credit for her control all goes to him when in reality, before that scene with him in the bathroom even happened, Caroline showed control at the hospital and fed on the nurse without killing her. It sometimes feels like she’s good for Stefan’s ego. Thank you for the reply I didn’t take it the wrong way, just you giving your perspective and opinion. Also sorry about taking long to reply, I didn’t even see the notification 😅
@@aianajones8702 I don’t ship bamon or Damon/Caroline romantically but that’s an interesting take. Hmm, I know technically Elena was with Stefan and then with Damon but usually a second choice is settling bc you can’t be with your first pick so idk if I would consider him a second choice to Elena since she did decide to be with Damon ultimately. I get what you mean though and respect your opinion. I love klaroline’s chemistry but I understand that they might not be for everyone.
I actually do not like Caroline without humanity. Maybe it's because they have done it so many times with other characters and it's getting pretty boring now or it's because i love how amazing Caroline is in general. It's probably both. I really don't get how she can be under control without her humanity, isn't being a control freak as she puts it an emotion? So her having it all under control does not make any sense at all. Maybe i'm wrong, i don't know. I have OCD and if things are not under control i get really emotional.. anywho, I really don't like Caroline without her emotions and i don't know why they did that with her hair 😂 I personally preferred Elena without her emotions a lot more than Caroline, even tho Elena was pretty annoying too. This episode just shows how little they care about Bonnie's feelings. Damon knew what Kai did to her and still put her through that for selfish reasons. I like Damon and Bonnie together but in this moments i felt so bad for Bonnie. If he had given her a little more time and then talked to her about kai and his mom, i think maybe she would have done it for Damon.
SEE YES ok agreed to a certain extent bc this used to bug me too... I feel like the control kinda has to be tied into emotions which the show says no one has if they turn their humanity off, but that's actually never been shown to be true. Anyone else without emotions fought for control too in a way to make sure that they got what they wanted (which was to kill or hurt whoever they wanted and to not be forced to turn their humanity back on). They all cared about their own survival, wants, and to a certain extent needs. No *humanity* would mean no sympathy or empathy for others, so they aren't capable of caring about things that don't revolve around their own immediate wants and needs. The show slips up by describing it as them not caring about anything at *all*, when if that were true then yeah Caroline shouldn't care about control and none of them should've ever tried to stop people from making them turn their humanity back on. They should've been mindless drones practically that didn't even care about their own survival. But the show describes "no humanity" vampires as synonymous with having no emotions and those two things aren't the same so it makes the characters' actions iffy sometimes. No humanity Damon cared to hurt Lexi bc she annoyed him and that's an emotion. No humanity Stefan cared to hurt Damon and Elena for the same reason and no humanity Elena cared in the same way in regards to all her friends. Enzo wanted to blackmail Stefan to ruin his bond with Damon. They all had the desire to hurt others and act out while supposedly having no emotion, when revenge, anger, and the instinct to survive are all connected severely to emotion. So I think its kinda a writing flaw. What these characters do doesn't really seem like "no emotion" but more like "no empathy" aka no humanity, but the show often refers to it as having no emotions and the way out of it is by making the person to grasp to any emotion possible as if they weren't connected to feelings at all before... though clearly they were.
@@alaurent2679 Yeah, i thought it might be a writing flaw. I think it might have been better if they had said no empathy instead of no emotions like you said!
@@tochiiii Do you know what a ruin in Elena's character? which is very dramatic just like Stefan is this closes it and does not make him drive out his character, he lives in function of the others even if since he is with Damon she is less dramatic and more cunning which makes her lighter in character when she had the extinguished humanity was devoid of drama and this made him treacherous and therefore bitch he was fine and smiled a lot
I would like to point out that despite having humanity off she is still in love with Stefan she hasn't stopped loving him but just doesn't care exactly how Damon in season one was for katherina despite having humanity off.
@@judithbonsu8398 Maybe because he turned off his humanity with Enzo, because in 1977 in New York we saw him without humanity where Lexi tried to turn it on but failed, because in 1994 he came to his brother to find stimuli to turn on his humanity but Stefan does not pick up his request for help, because in the first season Stefan writes in the diary that in Damon there is nothing human left, because in 1x3 when Damon kills the history teacher, Stefan makes an attempt to find his humanity by appealing to the love that he had for humanity as he did in this episode for Caroline by finding in Caroline the love she has for him. Damon da Enzo basically was up to the first season he was without humanity for 50 years making her forget her humanity in fact in season two he has a crisis on what his humanity is. Since he extinguished his humanity, they have never shown how he has been able to ignite his humanity. We know that vampires to turn on their humanity need strong stimuli to do so because they do not alone and escape those who want to turn on their humanity, Damon is alone in these years wandering the world away from Stefan without affection and nothing like did he ignite his humanity? for whom or for what? Damon ignites his humanity unlike the others who do at the moment who have undergone the emotional stimulus with a slow path starting from when he does not find Katherina in the crypt but overwhelms him his complete humanity when he kills Jeremy says "all I have to do is turn off the switch and snap "when Elena yells" nooo "he suffers the shock that brought her to the reality of what she had just done but like Stefan in season 3 he doesn't accept it right away and in season two he tries to suppress his humanity of not accept it as it begins to feel emotions, remorse and guilt. You have to remember Damon's historian from becoming a vampire until he shut down humanity we have nothing in the flashbacks of that Damon did crimes or that he was the 1920s bad example in the 2x15 flashback indeed he was disgusted with what did his brother, in 1944 and 'clean we see the villain Damon in the first season and in flashbacks where he already has humanity turned off.
@@Web497 😂😂 He told liz that he had come to town because he too had a mother when his emotions "were said to be on" in fact pay attention to his hands gesticulating showing with his fingers using quotation marks he said that he had the emotions on so he had the humanity turned off ... it's not false and what the show suggests is not my fault if you don't understand the series and the various characters.
Exactly Jear Bear Stefan and the mother genetically have something that causes this in practice in human terms of psychological disorders Stefan and the mother suffer from double personality are born so it is in the DNA that can develop in the path of the person or not depends on many factors of life of that person. Basically he is the bad and the good, Stefan's struggle is to suppress the bad personality and the ripper in him. Stefan unlike Damon, Elena, Caroline when he turns off humanity is completely another, the actor is incredibly good at playing the two personalities.
The rush of endorphins I feel when I hear your opening sequence........ :) Kind of a filler episode, but Steroline together without their humanity was hot af.
I love that everyone loves Stefan and Caroline with off humanity and considers them adorable for what they do instead Damon without humanity in season one as much as he is the villain😂
Bonnie’s got every right to not forgive Kai. It’s incredibly traumatic to 1. See an abuser (he tried to kill her a bunch, I know it’s technically not the same 🤷🏻♀️) and 2. Even though she doesn’t know about the merge, she still would not want to see Kai. He’s still a psychopath.
Also, I feel like everyone forgets that yes Bonnie’s a witch, but she can’t heal like the rest of them. So the trauma and PTSD is more for her I guess.
I blame all of this on Stefan. Sure Caroline was cold and uncaring, but she was behaving. He's the one that interfered and sent their problems from 1 to 99999999999999999999999
I felt so sorry for Damon to find out that his mom is a squat actress like his brother knowing what it means, having two in the family like this, must be terrible.
I used to think caroline was fearful of it turning on, so she did have some humanity...but now i realize humanity is emotions, and everything she said was purely LOGICAL like she said it didnt turn her into an idiot. And caroline is the most logical person we know which makes sense..she organizes, overthinks, plans... Elena and stefan are emotional af so thats why when theirs is off they are pretty much void w a lil logic in a selfish way Took me a thousand rewatches but now i finally get the levels and why each nonhumanity version is dif for each character It's logic vs emotion..not good vs evil🤔
Caroline's extinguished humanity is very similar to Damon's extinguished humanity in season 1, extinguished in season 5 as we have seen lasted for more than 50 years without, conscious, controlling and deciding whether to kill or not, without remorse and without guilt but who can quietly live normally.
Don’t worry everyone agrees with you on the caroline with no humanity, elena was just like okay yeah now she’s a petty girl. But caroline come on now she’s so much better to watch
Caroline without her humanity immediately is more entertaining, has better control, and even offers the fair deal of she’ll turn it back in 1 year as long as she’s left alone and she won’t even kill people…. They should’ve just let her grieve in her own way for a measly year it literally wouldn’t have killed or hurt anyone
Hi ♡ I really enjoy your reactions and I would love if you reacted to one of my favorite tv shows "Lucifer". I think you would really like it since a lot of characters on it are similar to other characters you already like in different tv shows. There are currently 5 seasons out and it's available on Netflix :D
The Sarah/Enzo/Matt storyline is really pointless and no one cares so you’re good. This is why I never understand why people hype up Enzo so much cause I feel like the writers never know why to do with him, they just like the character but don’t properly utilize him. He’s always kind of involved in pointless plot lines or pushed to the side. He’s honestly like as useless as Matt is
When stefan turns it off he turns into paul
Oh my God, that's so true! Why did I never think of that?!
💀🚬
The moment Stefan turns his humanity off here is kinda iconic
The ending scene is so iconic I can’t
Stefan without his humanity is by far the most ruthlessness and evil character on the show, on par with klaus id say
Then it gets messy lol
like Jer said, its poster worthy 😭
ITS THE MOST ICONIC THING-
The fact that Ian directed this episode.... i love no humanity stefan and caroline
Yeah see Ian knows what we wanted to see👏
I did not know that
"Sorry love, it's not as much fun when you're not really you." One of my favourite lines on the show.
they're so underrated
And some fenomenal acting from Kat Graham. That scene where she screams at Damon always gives me shivers.
she did so good omg...
THE ENDING WILL ALWAYS BE SO ATTRACTIVE TO ME MISS CAROLINE FORBES HAD SOME OF THE BEST SCENES IN THIS SHOW
YES HER WITHOUT HER HUMANITY WAS SO HOT IDC
This is what's annoying to me. Everyone else is allowed to grieve however they want, no matter how many bodies pile up or who gets hurt. But Care and Bonnie are not? Just because they're inherently good? Caroline even without her humanity was being very logical and smart. She knew her friends wouldn't rest until they get her back so she was very clear that she just needs a little time and they shouldn't intervene if they don't want bodies to pile up. I think that's a pretty reasonable argument coming from a no humanity person. They should've respected that.
Period. They should've just let her be. She wasn't harming anybody or doing anything bad. The characters are way too selfish on the show.
Well Elena was forced to turn it off then when she finally felt better with Rebekah she was forced to turn it on
No humanity Stefan is an icon.
Very Paul Wesley vibes.
You shouldn't, its stupid... so any other ideas on how we can find this info out together and tell Kai to screw off?"
and knowing bonnie she wouldve just pretended to forgive kai for damon and then they could've planned some revenge thing together on him. Like they basically do in the next episodes lol
or, ya know, anything that considered her feelings more ugh
In one episode of Caroline being on screen without her humanity she has said “Remind me why we’re glad she’s [Bonnie] back again”, said the same thing as Elena about consequences if someone tries to bring her humanity back, compelled Liam to take Sarah’s heart out, and made Stefan shut off his humanity as well.
Yes and all Elena did in one episode was steal a prom dress😂
@@yonnaminor5125 no, remember the waitress? she killed her and she told stefan and damon that there would be more bodies if they tried to bring her back. that had nothing to do with the prom dress, she stole it just to piss caroline off
@@yonnaminor5125 That’s not the only thing Elena did but I’m saying all this Caroline stuff happened in one episode yet when Elena had her humanity off, she got hated on.
@@CamiA487 because she was a good one Elena was just annoying and petty where as Caroline’s reasoning for everything was good.
@@iliks4905 that’s all she did petty teenage drama with hers off and killing the waitress that’s it
this episode really highlights how within the show Caroline and Bonnie were unfairly held to a different standard when grieving/traumatized.
Oh my god this episode is chaotic 😭 Caroline and Stefan without humanity 🤭
Stefan wasnt just dumb because he tried to get Caroline to turn her humanity back on in the least conspicuous way although that's true too. He was also dumb because he actually turned his humanity off like that was actually going to help. Elena saved Sarah and Stefan was definitely not thinking straight or trusting that she could do it.
That last scene with Caroline on the laying table is EVERYTHING 😍😍
Caroline new that stefan would be the one to bring he humanity back so she had to get him to turn his
No humanity Stefan is just Paul 😂🤣 next episode is so iconic, I can't wait for u to freak out in next episode 🙊🔥
Honestly, I didn’t care about the Sarah storyline either
I don’t think anyone did it was boring mainly because Matt was involved 🥱🥱🥱
So basically Sarah's relevancy here didn't need any of the past few episodes like ?? lol
Actually I think it would've been more impactful if we just heard about Sarah's existence through Stefan sharing this secret with Caroline during one of their moments (instead of us finding out bc of an imposter that comes to town, gets attacked, and sleeps with Jeremy only to die a few episodes later???), then Caroline's humanity is off and she uses Sarah as bait and *that's* our visual intro to the character and makes the betrayal from Stefan's pov more earnest and a shock for us as the audience.
I loved Elena when she broke Liam's hands 😂😂 to save Sarah
@@tloj2469 like I legit feel like "Shutting off my emotions just delayed how long it took for me to grieve and start finding some kind of normal again, and I missed so much time with the people I still had around me that I cared about" or SOMETHING 😭

there is a difference in the level of extinction of humanity between Caroline and Elena, Elena has been extinguished humanity completely, Caroline is in the light phase of her extinguished humanity.
Right?? I never understood people that wanted them to be a couple too, it makes no sense. I like Kai but Bonnie deserves someone better.
@@alaurent2679 Exactly you are right it does not deserve forgiveness and I do not like the idea of Bonnie and Kai together absolutely never would it be more than a toxic relationship it would be abnormal sick I repeat I agree to forgiveness but it must not be earned over time. When we say that Caroline is the strongest mentally it's not a lie even without humanity she manages to keep control compared to Damon Elena or Stefan

I’ve been waiting for this all day
I always wondered why Stefan didn’t just fake it? Like tell her you turned it off, save Sarah and then everything’s ok! Unless Caroline could somehow sense it

He faked it successfully for a while later on and by then sarah would have been saved.
Imo this episode is The best Kai look 👏👏 His vibe is just everything. I mean look at himmm, his RINGS, the coat, the whole bisexual vibe he’s got going on 😩
He’s my FAVOURITE tvd character
I always enjoyed no-humanity Stefan, but I have to say when I watched it for the first time no-humanity Caroline was just as annoying to me as no-humanity Elena 😅
And back then I didn't even notice that Caroline more or less 'offered them the same deal' like Elena (if you try to fix me, I will kill someone).

Ian directed this episode. Why so many great shots
Honestly! Caroline was more entertaining, in my opinion. And I thought her deal seemed fair
Caroline took a drink. You took a drink. And I took a drink all at the same time 😂
It’s not in this reaction but Caroline saying Elena makes this about her as if Elena isn’t just trying to stop her from doing things she’ll regret/hurting Sarah is annoying.
I hate it so much how people in the fandom treat the main character.
didi Exactly, thank you! This is why it’s so annoying to me.
@@abriella3087 sometimes I hate TVD fandom for this Elena hate-train. It's the most annoying thing in the world for me. Ugh.
Yes, I was thinking the same
@@didinau this is why i'm always in the comments defending elena
tik tok tvd fandom or something has made it a trend to hate on her instead of the other characters especially male characters who do SO MUCH WORSE
like elena can relate just one thing to herself and she gets called all the names in the book when most characters all they DO is ONLY self-motivated 90% of the time
and i get maybe it annoys people because she's known as one of the most caring characters but it's not as if elena herself ever claimed that
so yeah, i may defend elena too much in the comments but i feel i need to bcause a lot of the hate she gets makes literally no sense epsially when their faves have done the same or worse
i don't mind people having character prefrences but just say that instead of nitpicking and coming up with weird stretches out of nothing
i also may seem like i'm putting down other characters in the process but they are mostly used as examples as to why it's hyproctical to get mad at elena but not so and so
i actually like pretty much every character
it's like people have been brainwashed by 'selfish elena comilations' on youtube and tik tok only showing moments of her using words like 'what about me' and stuff like that making her seem that way without context when with context it usually does involve her in one way or another or she's simply asked a question as to why no one told her which caroline also does ALL THE TIME when people don't tell her stuff (in fact she lyells at them for not telling her i-)
if you were to make a 'selfless elena' compilation people would think she has no flaws out of context
elena does have flaws but i tend not to harp on them as much as other characters just because of the amount of hate she gets in comparison
she mourns someone too much, she doesn't mourn them enough, she's not as exicted as she should be, she is too excited
i'm tired of all those stupid things she's crtiqued for that make no sense
if gives me the 'women should smile more' vibes
and again, i'm not saying she's flawless because i wouldn't like her as a character if she was (all characters have flaws) but the complaints about her are usually ridiculous to me
This is honestly my favorite episode in the entire series. Between no humanity Caroline and an episode dealing with Bonnie's return and focusing on her mental health? This is perfection to me. I'm an unapologetic Bonnie and Caroline stan!
Caroline makes for such a good villain
one of the best episodes this season
the steroline cliffhanger? a banger
That last scene once again ICONIC!
i’m excited to see what you think about no humanity caroline because i love her 🤗
Caroline is by FAR the best vampire to ever exist. When she's got her humanity off she STILL doesn't kill people as long as her terms are met haha.
They honestly should have just let Caroline be and given her some time. It would have been way more efficient then trying to get her to turn it back on so fast.
That rave scene gave me similar vibes to the rave scene in teen wolf (which is one of my favourite episodes in teen wolf)
Don't forget that Bonnie was the one the killed kai first
Ok what's your point? Are you suggesting that makes up for everything he did to her?

steroline without humanity is a POWER COUPLE
I don’t ship steroline for various reasons but this episode wasn’t cute to me. Caroline shut off her humanity and was doing bad so she blackmailed/forced stefan to do the same and she was depending on his feelings for her as the deciding factor on her turning off her humanity. Love Caroline individually and ship her with Klaus tho.
I agree
this is LONG lmfao but I agree on loving Caroline and shipping her with Klaus!
(That's not me blaming Stefan for trying to get her back either per se, bc its totally understandable why he wanted to.)
SPOILER
The fact that no-humanity Stefan insults Caroline by saying she can't even do the no cares no humanity thing "right" bc she still clearly cares about things and has to keep things in order and control... and Damon makes that comment about her holding on to her halo even without humanity?
I have OCD and if things are not under control i get really emotional.. anywho, I really don't like Caroline without her emotions and i don't know why they did that with her hair 😂
I personally preferred Elena without her emotions a lot more than Caroline, even tho Elena was pretty annoying too.
Might be unpopular but I preferred alll the characters when their humanity was off even Elena that was her best era in my opinion😂😂
I adored Elena without humanity
@@andreearamona1 exactlyyy all her insults were so well thought out and funny😂😂😂
I LOVED no humanity Elena, there was no need for her to be that funny. And her and Rebekah's friendship was one of my favourite dynamics.
True. Elena's reaction to Bonnie's return was underwhelming.
So true! Like this girl was gone for MONTHS, if I was Elena I would've been attached to her hip all freaking day.
Probably one of my favourite episodes
The thumbnail made me chuckle🙂
If only Stefan and Elena didn’t intervene Caroline’s no humanity phase wouldn’t turn out to be this.... Stefan is so self righteous and annoying

I would like to point out that despite having humanity off she is still in love with Stefan she hasn't stopped loving him but just doesn't care exactly how Damon in season one was for katherina despite having humanity off.
wait Damon had his humanity off in season one ?
@@Web497 ye I thought so 😭😭 he definitely didn’t
@@andreearamona1 I’m sorry I’m not reading all that 😭☠️ i agree with whatever you just said
@@Web497 😂😂 He told liz that he had come to town because he too had a mother when his emotions "were said to be on" in fact pay attention to his hands gesticulating showing with his fingers using quotation marks he said that he had the emotions on so he had the humanity turned off ... it's not false and what the show suggests is not my fault if you don't understand the series and the various characters.

Elena and stefan are emotional af so thats why when theirs is off they are pretty much void w a lil logic in a selfish way

Stefan without his humanity is iconic and fierce. Elena and Caroline without humanity are just annoying
