I remember when my hair fell out do to cancer I never left the house without a hat or a wig until one day I walked out of the house standing proud all 4'11 of me with my two son's at the time they were 7 & 6 month's. Those kid's were my strength my inspiration considering their Dad left me when I got diagnosed and was 6 month's pregnant 🤰and had chemo through the remainder of my pregnancy. God gives us the strength we don't realize we have 🙏🙏🙏 Today those Boy's are men 30 & 23 and yes I'm still fighting cancer 🎗️ but the Lord has me here for a reason 💜💜💜💜 #shalomblacpower 🖤💪🏿
Just in case y'all don't understand why she can't grow her hair back is because she had a 3rd degree burn. 3rd degree burns means it had reached the most inner layer of the skin (hypodermis layer) and when you reiceve a 3rd degree burn it's doesn't allow you to make new cells to create new skin, but in her case, hair.. She is beautiful with our without hair and she make it look stunning. 🖤🖤
I got burnt with boiling water all over my back when I was 3 or 4. I bumped a table that had a hot thermos on it and it fell over and poured all over my back. Im 28 now and still have a big scar all over my back and a couple of patches on my shoulder. I mostly don't think about it bcos I don't see it, but whenever I see someone with a beautiful smooth perfect skin back I feel really sad that mine doesn't look like that. I havnt met someone with a similar level of scarring to me so it's really nice to have found you, the surface area of your scars would be very close to the surface area of my scar, just in different places. I wish we could talk x
Hi, I get burned also when I was young, I had lost parts of my hair , my chest almost burned and different other parts. Thank for sharing your story . I have the same feeling, when I see videos like this I know that am not alone in this word . All the love
lemonade so beyable so sorry to hear that :( mine is visible if I ever go to the beach or anything like that it covers my entire back top to bottom. I also feel bad sometimes if I ever have a boyfriend and they're giving me a backrub or anything like that bcos they have to touch the scar and I worry that it might be gross or unpleasant for them or something. Or any time I want to wear something sexy for them or something it's visible in those moments which always makes me feel less confident and not as sexy as I wanted to feel because they have to look at that. I definately have my insecurities about it, the only times it's not visible are when I'm fully dressed and have my back completely covered up, but when I want to show more skin it's there which definitely makes me feel less nice to look at or touch than I want to feel which can make me feel very sad. But I don't think about it unless it's brought to my attention somehow because it's usually out of my own sight. I'm sorry to hear that yours is more visible, you poor thing :( xx
I run into boiling water when I was 7, I remember I was in pain then it just stopped like my pain just shut down or something idk. It was all over my chest I still have the big scar but I wear whatever I want I never hide it and it’s part of me now. I hope one day you find your peace with it because you are still so beautiful
Yafah K I'm mostly ok with mine too, but there are times I consider getting lazer or something to flatten the texture, but then I don't think I could because it's been part of me for so long now and has a cool story. So I'm always torn between wanting to have perfect smooth skin and not wanting to erase something that's part of who I am. It depends on the day. But usually I'm ok and it doesn't bother me that much. But sometimes its just the envy of seeing someone else's flawless smooth skin with no discolouration or texture. It comes and goes
Wow your words brought back memories from my own childhood. I was also burned. I was in a house fire when I was 16 months old. I was burned on about 75% of my body including my head and face. When I was 6 or 7 the doctor wanted to try to put a balloon under my scalp for hair growth, but ultimately my mother decided against it. Your videos give me hope that I can finally hide my scars. I just need the right products and a good instructor. I agree you do have a beautiful shaped head, I can't stand looking at myself without my wig. Thanks for sharing your story.
Y'all the burn community is strong....I love how we support each other, no matter your story. I love this girl so much! The bravery you have to have to do this, channel, your story, and to not be afraid of your scars is amazing. Love you❤️😍
You have been my inspiration for awhile now. Today I’m going to cut my hair off in hopes of meeting you and helping you face your fear. I am a survivor of child abuse, fat shaming, bullying, and rejection by biological mother being given away and both. I love your channel and your personality!
She’s so gorgeous....I just love to see a strong beautiful black woman. She’s such a good example for us young black girls. She demonstrates how to be confident with insecurities. I just love her sooo much ❤️❤️
I completely understand. Although I wasn't burned, I am a survivor of cancer times 2 and I have alopecia. My hair grows in patches so I prefer to shave. Would love to someday purchase a real wig. In the meantime rocking my bald head.
@Amime Expert Why do you think she's lying how about you shut the fuck up. Stop contradicting a FACT. It's a damn fact she is beautiful. She is beautiful in her unique way. Hell id say a THOUSAND times she is way more beautiful than me.
The shape of your head is literally perfect. Like I spent this entire video admiring how perfect you are and once we got to the "Question but not a Question " part with people also making comments about how beautiful your head is, made me feel less weird about it. I love you and I love your energy
Shalom, you stated that you don't have guts, but you do. In deciding to share your story along with sharing yourself, you have allowed yourself to be vulnerable with millions and that takes a lot of guts. So maybe you're not ready just yet to walk outside in all of your glory, but that doesn't mean you won't. As you said, don't force it. The moment will come and you'll be ready and as you affirmed, it will be an amazing day*
Who else wears her crown as beautiful as you: You're captivating hearts with such grace. And just like fine gold, you don't break. God shower you with his love.
Courageous lady, only you will know when to do this. Please know there are many women walking out bald, because of hair loss from chemotherapy, some who have had chemical burns from improper use of relaxers have shaved their heads or who have alopecia. You may find that you will be reinforcing a trend for women. You are beautiful in spirit and your physical beauty is frosting. God Bless you on this journey🙏🏽🌺👏🏽
Everybody can't be wrong your beautiful inside and out. Pray and ask the lord to give you the strength and remove the shame and give you the confident you need. To see your beauty because you are
Wow you are such a beautiful, strong, woman who doesn't need to hide life's scars. You are amazing your face and body tells a story. But the strength in you shows what you did about it and how you persevered through that situation. Beautiful, I admire you for your perseverance and strenght. You go girl!!! Be you.
Baby girl do you realise that you actually already went outside without your wig??? I mean do you know how many people watches you online? you’re already outside!!! Just think like that and you will se that your fear will not paralyse you anymore to step outside physically without a wig!!! You’ve been out baby girl!!! 😘😘
Your embracing yourself.... While am here worrying about my big face, dry bad hair and a OK figure smh That's why I stay very confident in myself so that I can teach my daughter to be confident about her appearance because the moment you start comparing yourself, is a path where low self-esteem makes you numb💕💯.
What a Cheerful girl. Shalom has embraced her portion in life - a burn accident into a Beacon of Light and Hope for anyone out there, who have, or suffers from a major setback in life.
You have a perfect shaped head! I went bald twice, ( alopecia) and I have a very crazy shaped head. I didn’t like wearing wigs, they itched and even made my autoimmune kick up worse. I was just thinking when you answered, “if I go bald again, I’m going to highlight and see if I can rock it like her!” Probably not, lol I felt my skin on my head was so sensitive I had to buy soft scarves to protect even from gentle breezes. Thank you for this video, I found it empowering and you tell stories very well. I keep my hair super short, and I do miss my long hair. I get asked that a lot. But if it gets a certain length it feels like it burns my skin.
I legit cry every time I see/watch your videos. You’re so beautiful inside and out ❤️. You’re just such an inspiration to me and to others. PERIODT! 😍💖
You are fuckin stunning... Pure and absolutely beautiful!!!!..dont need any make up .. We all have stories some of us have scars that tell the story without words.. Just know your growth and your spirit shows how strong you truly are Doll!!!
Shalom you are beautiful! Thank you for sharing your story again also thank you for mentioning your reasons as to why you might wear wigs more often. I once commented asking you why so thank you. You are in a wonderful place in life just knowing where you are mentally when t comes to your fears as it pertain to going outside without your wigs. Actually bald is now in. ijs. You are a beautiful young lady inside and out. God's continued blessings.
DO IT! I LOVE YOUR BALD HEAD LOOK! THE SHAPE OF IT IS AMAZING! NOT MANY PEOPLE CAN PULL IT OFF BUT GIRLLL YOU KILLL IT!! AND IT REALLY EMPHASIZES HOW GORGEOUS YOU ARE!!
I just want to say she is beautiful inside and out. For her to have the courage to post vidoes and share her story is one of the most inspirational and motivating things I've ever watched. Hearing her story has inspired me to follow my dreams and not allow hatred of other to get inside me. She is truly beautiful I hope I can meet her someday❤❤🤞🏾🤞🏾

Yes, and do a vlog where you go to a Halloween party. Let that be your big reveal where you showcase your bald head to all of your friends who have never seen you without your wig.
You are so awesome to have found the strength to speak on what happen to you. I truly understand how you felt when you got burned at such a young age also because I was burned at the age of about 9 years old by boiling hot water do to my own mishap at home.my burns and scares was bad but nowhere near a bad as yours. It took a long time for me to show my scares on my body until about the age of around 15 or 16. in saying all of this you have my most upmost love, respect and prayers for your willingness to speak on what happen to you as I finally found that same courage to speak on my scares when asked about. Keep doing what your doing Ms Blac.. Always Smile you are a GORGEOUS Queen.
She's very courageous. Respect. The message I want to give you Shalom, is that you are not determined by your body and outer looks, but by who you are as a person, as a human being. Be good, help others, go for your dreams, don't listen to criticism or negative reactions and, most of all, don't be afraid for challenges facing you. The fears are all in your head, but reality may prove different.
You are very beautiful without makeup or wig. Your scars are part of your story and that in itself has become your strength and that confidence is helping so many other people out there who have suffered mishap.
OMG SHALOM! U look absolutely stunning😍😍😍...this look definitely suits u more without the wigs. The African print Mama, is catching my eyes...lol. I love it
Beauty is truly in the eyes of the beholder. And beauty is in you. May the Lord continue to bless and protect. May the Lord smile on you and be gracious to you . May the Lord show you his favor and give you his peace.
I swear I never seen anyone this pretty gosh shalom embrace every bit of it honey, u are so beautiful..like i love ur eyes, the shape of ur head too.. ur confidence is legit we need that as women of differences irrigardless of our own stories... Ur new name is maona shalom 🥰🥰😂u are funny too
I already knew that's why you can't grow hair I can't grow hair either and it's the same reason I'm a burn survivor as well I have hair but I have a huge bald spot in my head. My hair looks exactly like ur sister to give u a visual like I kid u not!!!!!! . I talked about the balloon procedure with my Dr but I was young at the time and I needed to decide that for myself when I turn 16.
Y'all don't know how much I love #shalom Blac💕😍. She's full of confidence, pride and self-esteem. She's such a beautiful person inside and out and that's why I love her and Iove to watch her videos.
I have been wearing my head shaved because I suffer from severe alopecia. I was told it may come from my meds but I'm not really sure. I shaved my head because even with the wigs...when I take them off....I want to be comfortable with how I look. How I see myself. You have helped me to feel even more comfortable with my bald head. I now consider myself a bald baddy! It was to overwhelming wishing and hoping my hair would grow back. I have tried all types of vitamins and serums....but I don't want injections or anything like that. Anyway....Thank you for being beautiful and making me and others accept our beauty. In the words of India Irie...."I am not my hair". I love you sis. Keep doing you❤
She is absolutely gorgeous inside and out. 😍😍😍

I love this girl! Nothing but confidence here...
So sorry
She is so gorgeous and amazing
That African dress is so pretty
You have a beautiful shaped head!!!! Very nice. Anatomically balanced and flatters your features.
Keep doing you❤
With or without hair, your still beautiful. ❤
You don't need surgery honey, you are beautiful!👌🏽😍
