I love that one time someone asked you to try to imprint the doll makeup on the acetone-soaked cotton pad, that you tried it, and that you’ve done it ever since. It’s one of my favourite things in your videos. That and the hair removal and various hair redo processes.
FELT!!! honestly my literal favorite part of doll repaints is watching the removal of the remaining hair 'plugs' with the pliers. Watching the hair just dissappear from the head sculpt satisfies my dermatillomania in ways I cannot describe lmao. I know im a weirdo. But I try to watch repaints instead of picking at my own face.
I think color-shifting dolls like this are awesome. I wonder if you could do that on the whole body. Like Mystique from the X-Men. Or you can do a little body art. Like vines or barbed wire. So, she looks like a regular girl but once that UV ray hits then she changes into either a Superhero or Supervillain depending on the body art. And the color-changing hair and clothes too. A color-changing doll is a really cool idea with a lot great concepts. 😎👍
The doll hair reminds me of those color-changing shirts and nail polishes I would get in sunny vacation spots in the late 90s hahaha. Oh how life comes full-circle.
This looks so amazing and lovely. And you used the material very effectively. Congrats. You could make a colorshifting fairy. A witch or socceress or a butterfly inspired one. Oh and a cyberpunk doll is also an option. So many possibilities. 😍🤩🤩🤩
There are so many concepts for these UV pigments! The intensity of the red makes me think of some Halloween ideas: an angle to devil "devil in disguise" theme, or a ghost girl who turns bloody to show how she died. UV light revealing secrets makes me think of mystery genre classics like finding finger prints or hidden messages in invisible ink, so a either a detective noir or 20's Agatha Christie type character could be fun too! With the ghost, you could even use glow in the dark materials as well, so she'd show up as a different type of spirit, ironically more frightening in the sun. It could work for a number of other Halloweeny creatures that change from night to day, like werewolves and vampires. Mixing the glow in the sun and glow in the dark materials could be cool for other day to night looks too, like maybe a sun and moon character. Love your work! Great job as usual!
The colorshifting hair made me remember this geek goddess thats the personification of the rainbow, Iris. If there were like multiple colors of that hair, imagine a white to full blown rainbow hair shift.
I can’t afford your amazingly beautiful dolls YET - but I’m definitely of the opinion that they’re worth whatever you price them at AND MORE!! The amount of time, energy and sheer talent put into everything you make never ceases to amaze me ❤️👏🏻❤️👍🏻
True. I try to bind, but it got really expensive for me. But she deserves every cent for all the work, imagination, creativity and love putting on this doll's transformation!
Dearest Poppen, I'm so glad you posted this week because I"ve been thinking this whole week of a doll making idea that I think you will absolutely nail: A RUSSIAN TSARINA. Like Tsarina Maria Feodorovna, the former Danish princess Dagmar. I see fabulous strings of pearls, a kokoshnic or the empress' crown, dripping in diamonds, holding a Faberge Egg.... Please, please, please!!!!! Loads of love from South Africa 🇿🇦
She is amazing! You did such a fabulous job!!! Also, for the color shift, the first thing that comes to mind is the “make it pink/make it blue” scene from Disney’s Sleeping Beauty. Also, what would be incredible would be a Dorothy from the Wizard of Oz, from the point in the film where she enters Oz and everything goes from black and white to color. But I don’t know how you would do that. It would take a lot of practice with the color shifting paints and using them over darker colors to achieve the right grey scale vs color mixtures. If anyone can figure it out, though, it would be you.
I love those ideas! There are color changing fabrics made out of the same synthetic fiber the as the doll hair that Poppen could use! A blue to pink would be stunning, and a semi-transparent watered down gray acrylic paint over the fabric would create any pattern while adjusting the shade of the color underneath without changing its hue. A white to blue fabric with gingham painted on could work. If Poppen could mix an orange close to a pale skin tone, it could go over a grey scale face as a transparent glaze to make your black and white to color film Dorthy! She could even add red lipstick and blush the cheeks with a touch of diluted red like they used to on old black and white photos!
Absolutely beautiful Flora doll! I have to say the hair colour matches the animated cheshire cat from Alice in Wonderland perfectly! You could do a transformation from blonde Alice into a cheshire cat girl! 😸
The color change is amazing, just like magic. Definitely do more dolls, with multiple color changing hair, nails, & add more color to the dolls skin, face arms hands with a small simple outfit to bring out the color
I think that this doll has a lot more going on for it! Going from snowy pale to living color in sunlight is the perfect representation of spring. Her face is sweet and shows rebirth of character. I love her face... and the dress is gorgeous. Outstanding repaint!!!!
You could make a color changing sea creature, maybe use the new Lagoona for it. Since they changed her color to pink i akways thought she would be blue in contact with water.
This is one of your best projects ever!! Ive been watching you for years now, and its amazing to see how much you have matured as an artist. Your creativity is turning your talent to a whole new level!
This is absolutely stunning. So gorgeous. And I love the addition of the little colour changing freckles, a tiny touch, but so cute, especially when you think about the fact that real freckles are also "UV activated". 💜💜
This turned out really beautiful! Thank you for sharing! A few things crossed my mind looking at the color-changing effects in terms of possibilities. One was, I wonder if you could do a doll that looks a bit like ash/cinders (light gray skin, red-toned color changing hair maybe mixed with black and/or gray) but then under UV it looks like the character bursts into flame like a phoenix. Another was the possibility of tattoos that change under UV. I think if you had a tan or dark-skinned doll the pale paint would stand out even before the color change. My instinct is to combine your gold leaf with the blue color change paint to do nazar tattoos and evoke bangles while alluding to biblically accurate angels with multiple eyes lol, but I also just love that visual. You can technically do anything there and it would be legitimate. You also can do irises or sclera that change color under UV! And if you do feel like going terribly spooky, you could do something where you have a very pure and innocent looking vampire girl and then under UV red paint blood splatter shows up-possibly hair also turns red.
A chameleon doll would be so cool, you could give her traits of the animal while still making her beautiful! That way you could paint allover her in the magic paint! This doll is so beautiful 🖤
When you started painting those flowers I was so tempted to jump ahead. But I listened to myself and said trust the process. WHAT A REVEAL !!!! This doll is incredible! And I DID enjoy it today! thank you for your content.
Your Flora is absolutely gorgeous! I love how beautiful she looks in both color schemes, and I’ve never seen a OOAK doll with color-change effects before! Simply stunning! Have you considered a color-change mermaid doll? Like, one that migrates between cooler waters to a colorful reef depending on the season and changes her scales accordingly, to better blend with her surroundings. I think that could make for a really unique doll too, especially if some of the color effects were a pattern that didn’t become visible unless she’s in “warmer waters”, like stripes or waves on her tail and torso!
This is one of my favorite dolls you've ever done. So cool, so beautiful! You should do a superhero doll that looks bland normally, but her outfit and hair becomes a superhero look when lit up.
I did not think you could outdo yourself after the second month transformation, but oh my goodness, did you prove me wrong big time. This doll is absolutely stunning. I'm just in awe of your talent and creativity. I had to take screenshot of the first time you showed the dress transformation, because i couldn't believe my eyes without examining 😂😂 I'm making a dress for my friend's wedding, and this doll is absolutely going to be on our inspiration board.
This is so cool! As for other color shifting ideas for future dolls, I think the colors would be perfect for mermaid and/or butterfly fairies, especially since butterflies already undergo cool transformations in nature.
She is beautiful. I love the dress. And her freckles. The colour shifting reminds me of deep sea creatures. They are either pale, or transparent.....With lights that change colours. So. A deep sea mermaid would be cool. You could suspend them in a display tube/jar that has a UV light at the top. So it looks normal till you turn on the light. I would create flowy shapes of chiffon with the powder added to it to create extra drama. Like beta fins. Long and tattered. But also see through & glowy at the same time.
You're unbelievable! Every doll you made is more beautiful than the anterior. Everytime I think "Marina made an extraordinary doll!" You make one more extraordinary! Your mind is an universe of creativity and innovation!
Color changing vampire doll with dripping effect of red down from the lips would be cool to see and a spooky, fun possibility for October if you even also made colorful spooky clothes for it. A color changing zombie doll that turns green and the doll wearing some tattered clothes would possibly be fun. A color changing werewolf with color changing eyes and hair/ fur would also be very fun to see in October. A seahorse themed male doll would be super cool. Pastel goth aesthetic dolls would be so pretty to see, with color changing hair and clothes. Previous commenters have suggested fairy dolls, and I agree--- it would be really lovely to see extra- colorful fairy styled dolls. A little collection of dolls in color changing formal wear themed after ~special events ~ of your own choosing would also be so lovely to see! So thankful for your channel of such amazing creativity and talent! Your videos are a joy to watch!!!
🌸🌺She is so beautiful!🌸🌺 You did an amazing job, as usual. I'm loving the color-changing stuff too-- and now all I can think of is, how cool would a doll of 🌞Apollo the Sun God🌞 using color-changing paints/hair be? Like he could have dark, bronzed Greek armor with hidden flame patterns that turned all red/orange/yellow in the sun?? 🤩Greek/Roman gods could be a cool series, too.
That's so gorgeous! Kind of bridal too.! Please make more dolls with the color changes, it's just as cool as your glow in the dark treatments. Great work!
my daughter and I love your videos tremendously. You are an inspiration! I am a watercolor illustrator and your enjoyment for your craft always motivates and gives me splendid ideas. Thank you.
You could make a dual personality doll good/evil that color shifts. She would appear good, but then the UV light could bring out her bad characteristics on her face, hair and clothes. Your doll face is the prettiest one yet. I love the soft purple eye shadow. ❤️💕
Can you ever have too many Persephones? After all, we get a new spring every year. This Flora is absolutely beautiful. You could do Titania and Oberon with a host of attendants, and still have some of those flowers left over, I think. Very lovely.
I think if you can find more of those pigments, you could make a stunning Summer doll! Maybe with the right shades, you can create a tanned skin effect! I think that would be so much fun!
I think a color changing doll with a marine theme would be really cool. Something with jellyfish or seahorses or something. :) Thanks for all your videos!
I think a color changing butterfly doll would be really cool!! Like when they're camouflaged to they environment with their wings closed and then when they open them all the colors are revealed!
Made it to a new video, Hello Marina! Been dying to get photochromic, thermocromic items for customs for ages now, I absolutely love it, I remember first coming in contact with colour changing with Barbie back in the 90's specially it was used a lot on hair, fashion and even ken's beard, been fascinated by it ever since and plan to use it sometime in the near future. She indeed looks magically stunning you did an amazing job once again. I feel the eyes could've had a colour shift in her eyes also. Please do make more like these, mermaids, unicorns, fantasy themes.
God, bidding is already at $700 and it’s only the next day. This one is going to go over a grand, so you don’t need to worry about recovering the costs. The disappearing/reappearing freckles are the best part; genius use of the material.
That is an amazing doll. I remember having dolls that would "tan" and have high light streaks appear in the sun but they were never as brilliant colors as this. She is beautiful. Maybe have a pale fairy with moth wings that turns into a butterfly in the sun for a future project.
So absolutely beautiful! I love it! Truely embodies the idea of a Spring goddess going to the light pale white to beautiful shades of pink, blue, & purple. Would love to see this effect on other dolls. I know you've made classical Persephone dolls, but I think the color changing pigments would look really neat on a Lore Olympis Persephone doll. The character changes a lot depending on her mood. So you could make the sclera of her eyes turn red & her hands turn green. I think that's be awesome.
She is SO stunning! I love the flowers, the color palette and her beautiful face! Great work, per usual. You amaze me every time. Keep up the stellar work, Lady!
She is beautiful!! I love her whole aesthetic! So creative!! You should a day to night or eclipse doll with the uv effect hair and paint. 😊 Great work as always Poppen!!
I love that one time someone asked you to try to imprint the doll makeup on the acetone-soaked cotton pad, that you tried it, and that you’ve done it ever since. It’s one of my favourite things in your videos. That and the hair removal and various hair redo processes.
