I was at this event I was 11 years old. I loved the Pro Modified cars.
I've never seen a quick 55 Chevy, they're about as aerodynamic as a mobile home.
I was there. What a great day.
I think that may have been the event where Sweet ran the first 5 second pass for a TA/FC at New England, side by side w/Lape's 55' Chevy FC during Qualifying.

@@jerrycoon3369 I was too, that's why I remember it. Awesome moment. I can still remember watching Lape's front end bouncing as he made the pass. Man I miss those days.
@@MoxieMike66 Yeah me too the drag racing back then was pretty great. I think now it's too "corporate." I think the sponsors have too much control. It's almost like an infomercial. LOL
@@jerrycoon3369 I literally grew up there. My dad & his buddies built & ran BB/GD's til the early 70's, both parents are original stock holders (I'm 2nd Gen). And I worked there all 4yrs of HS during the WWCS years. Miss the WWCS meets, they were SO much better than today.
@@MoxieMike66 Thats cool!! I live in south eastern CT. about 2.5 hours away. I was shocked to see this video. Right in the beginning, the first 2 cars at the line, the pink Berretta was owned by the Iannotti Bros. I didn't know them but I knew the guy that built that car. When they first built it, it was a blower car. Man was it mean looking. Then they switched it to run nitrous.

Holy cow! I remember that funny car! It was awesome! Did you notice the pink berretta in the first pair? I knew the guy that built that car.

@@ricknova1973 Yeah I do! It was black with blue flames right? Sponsored by a Harley shop? I used to see him with all the other alcohol guys at epping. Boston strangler, cape codder, hemi shaker, Bell boys, etc. I'm sure I forgot a few. Alcohol FC is my favorite class to watch along with pro mod.

@@ricknova1973 Oh man! How could I forget Bob Newberry! I have some old video of the big alcohol funny car shows at epping. Maybe later I'll fire one up and see who else I forgot. I used to love watching the hot rods from hell too! The good ole days! hahaha
