I watched this entire series on June 16 2019 Fathers Day. The relationship between Fields and his daughter is especially touching and poignant on this day.
Hard to say how Keaton and Chaplin would have been with audio. ''Yes dear'' , the slow and captivating manor at which WC spoke, and with such unparalleled wit, would be very difficult to match. Keaton and Chaplin were great, but they didn't have the same tech to work with, then came Laurel and Hardy, very funny. Amos and Andy was great too, Spanky and Our Gang... lots of funny stuff back then. I think noteworthy as well is the fact that back in the late 30's into the 40's film acting was still new, and actors just didn't have the skills, that we see today, yet, watching WC this is not at all apparent.
This is priceless! I've been looking for this movie for quite some time. Thanks for a great job of posting this. I remember as a kid when these movies were commen on TV in the afternoons and weekends. Timeless comedy by a master.
"A cheerful heart is good medicine" I watched some of WC when I was a little kid and I really didn't get it. Well, I get it now. Hilarious! Thanks for a unexpected evening of merriment and laughter!
Whoever played his wife here played that role in several of his films. She was always the bully bitch, and Fields always retorted her with a gentle "Yaaas, dear." I've adopted that habit myself, and my wife hates it! She doesn't like Fields, either!
Yeah, I've got pretty much the same story, I think W.C., like the Marx Bros. or Chaplin etc. would cross generational lines and people would love them as much now if only they saw these. At least we've got you tube.
I liked the way the three women in this movie stuck up for W.C. Fields against the two liar men who were trying to get their digs in. This is the best W.C.Fields movie I've watched and the only one too.
thanks for posting..love the wit of mr.fields ,best when he writes his own scripts, did anyone notice the part of legs the wrestler was played by walter Brennan?
It's lucky for Mr. Malloy that W.C. didn't negotiate for himself, or he would have pulled his hair out! Also, for all the abuse Fields takes in this film, it has the perfect ending!
A fun and great movie. Well, they all ended in a similar fashion, but I still enjoyed them all. Did ya notice Walter Brennan and Tammany Young in the cellar in the beginning . .
If you can check out James Curtis' Book On "The Great Man"..most recent book and the best ever called simply "W.C. Fields"...Grand flick..thx for posting!
In all the years that I've been immersed in watching classic films --and even studying film history-- I never once heard the name W.C. Fields. . . it was always Chaplin, Harold Lloyd, the Marx brothers and all the rest, but never W.C... . Seems like all the others get more attention than he does. . . Who knows. . .maybe it's just me. . . Thanks to Woody Allen, I now love W.C. Fields.
If you studied film history - and never heard of WC Fields (A man who dislikes dogs and children can't be all bad"), you should demand your tuition back!
The daughter (actress Mary Brian) nailed her part. She is just as good as WC.
I love how his daughter and secretary have his back and see him for the good guy he is.
WC Fields,The Three Stooges,Laurel and Hardy,The Marx Bros,we sure had some greats! Thanks for posting this hilarious film!

Fields - an unsurpassed, timeless genius...
Fields made the greatest funny films of all time.
Thank you for going to the trouble to gift us with this!
This was by far the best scene of a very enjoyable movie... I loved seeing Mrs Neslerobe and Claude get what they had coming to them !!
Grady Sutton always played rolls of him being a busy body know it all 😂 W. C was one of a kind no one will ever take his place he was a genius
Ambrose daughter really loves him, very touching.
thank you for taking the time and trouble to post such memories of a genius.
WC Fields, the best film comedian ever. Eighty years later he's more current than Charlie Chaplin and Buster Keaton ever were
Hmmm, IMHO Chaplin's "Modern Times" is as current as any other 'timeless' story.
WC was in the modern era. You don't know what you're talking about.
Hard to say how Keaton and Chaplin would have been with

Hadn't seen this in about 30 years and just noticed for the first time that WC's secretary is played by Carlotta Monti, his real life girlfriend.
WC Fields was/is a comedic genius! Thanks for the upload!
Love the movie, so funny, and the ending was great.
What a wonderful classic - thank you. I love WC - full of humanity..we could learn a lot from his character!
Mr. Souse is the best...never took himself serious😂
This is priceless! I've been looking for this movie for quite some time. Thanks for a great job of posting this.

I can't stop laughing as the rain is coming down,
then turning into a downpour, those poor in-laws... 😂
That was a great film and W C got you laughing whenever you think about it !
Yes WC I did watch all 11 postings. I had never seen it before. Whatever your recording settings are is just perfect for my computer. Thanks again.
Couldn't find this anywhere...You came to the rescue! Super film.
Did Mr. Fields brother-in-law remind anyone of Lindsay Graham other than me? LMAO!!
Hammered01 Yes,except he doesn’t seem as dangerous or treasonous as ms.lindsey.
Whoever played his wife here played that role in several of his films. She was always the bully bitch, and Fields always retorted her with a gentle "Yaaas, dear." I've adopted that habit myself, and my wife hates it! She doesn't like Fields, either!
Got my first job out of college in 1970 by mentioning WF's work ethic. I was hired the next day and stayed for 40 years. RIP WCF!!!!
Thanks for this, I love the man! In his own way the greatest ever!
WC is like every great comedian wrapped into one.
Yeah, I've got pretty much the same story, I think W.C., like the Marx Bros. or Chaplin etc. would cross generational lines and people would love them as much now if only they saw these. At least we've got you tube.
Thanks for the fine job of posting this one. I was able to watch in full screen. It must have taken you some time and effort to do such a great job.
Comedic Genius
Really enjoyed this, thanks for posting .
Wonderful.
Many thanks for these uploads, WCF -- great stuff!
I got his movies so funny I loved him
Comic genius as usual by WC Fields, and great supporting acting, neither over or underdone.
Thank you so much for uploading this!
Mary Brian died @ 96 in 2002.
What perfect justice…. Mother in law and brother in law in jump seat in the rain
Superb. Very subtle
I liked the way the three women in this movie stuck up for W.C. Fields against the two liar men who were trying to get their digs in. This is the best W.C.Fields movie I've watched and the only one too.
Yeah Uncle Wally is quite the fine fellow.
Thanks! Loved it!!!
Carlotta Monti a peach if ever there was one !!!
Thanks for this. I recall a scene that’s not here where he swiftly retrieves a piece of paper from that big pile on the desk
Yeah - I Think that's missing too. Nevertheless, a great posting and a great find - for ME!
different episode
You are correct. He digs through to find a letter from 4 years ago (or 3 1/2 to be accurate).
Marvellous

He was one of the best move over may west
great job william claude! and great fun!!

thanks for posting..love the wit of mr.fields ,best when he writes his own scripts, did anyone notice the part of legs the wrestler was played by walter Brennan?
“Legs” (Walter Brennan) was one of the burglars in the cellar, not one of the wrestlers.
It's lucky for Mr. Malloy that W.C. didn't negotiate for himself, or he would have pulled his hair out! Also, for all the abuse Fields takes in this film, it has the perfect ending!
It’s beginning to rain...
Immortal!
A fun and great movie. Well, they all ended in a similar fashion, but I still enjoyed them all. Did ya notice Walter Brennan and Tammany Young in the cellar in the beginning . .
The Best.
Makes Chaplin seem as funny as the local conservative candidate.

Grady was pretty good too. lol
$100.00 a week in1935 would be equal to $1886.00 dollars a week in 2020.
Interesting these in today's cash value 2023. Just heard in Calf. a fast food worker will make 20.00 an hour.
A man that hates kids and dogs can't be all bad!
Funny😎
Laughed to such
