Interesting - Sora didn't really display any real Flowmotion abilities, with his grappling hook being the Kingdom Key itself. I wonder if Sora's trying to adapt to a non-magical world, with actual spells being much more difficult to perform in Quadratum.
If this means we get a combat system closer to the grounded nature of KH2. :)

@Datto S Ever since BBS, all your aerial attacks will zip and directly home in on enemies. Not exactly a change in my favor because it made the combat a little more mindless than before.
KH2 you had to be more deliberate about your positioning and actions as gravity was put more into play and most of your attacks had a defined distance. Additionally, Sora had more ground modifiers than he did aerial ones, so staying on the ground was more effective. This is definitely more in line with base Sora, Drive forms did also tend to have the tendency to home in on aerial foes, but not when they're of a significantly higher altitude above Sora's head.
The point I do want to make is that there was more deliberate choice in KH2's combat system which was more engaging to me than BBS onward.

I started with KH2 back in maybe 06-07
I think if they remastered Union X on console and PC or remade it, people would appreciate it more cuz that's where a lot of important story beats and characters come into play and for it to be a mobile game many people will miss out on that experience which really sucks tbh.
Yeah when we get 3.5 we probably will get a remaster of the movie for union x. Cause they won’t completely remake the game
When it comes time for that information to be relevant to the story, they'll release a movie with the appropriate information. It's what they did with Back Cover and the Days and Coded movies.

@@donovanmartin7946 if you mean the series as a whole I’d say by release order from the first game onwards, all the games are on Epic Games and also overpriced but if you’re willing to pay it’s a great game franchise very confusing story but great if you put the time into it.
@@donovanmartin7946also if you have a console I’d say it’s better since the collection of all the games leading up to before 3 are available for cheap in some places and KH3 is also very cheap on console as well as on PC it is still full priced but if not then PC.

I am all here for it! I love the direction they're going with based off this reveal trailer, feels surreal to talk about KH4 and Sora in all his glory right off the bat.

I'll be honest when I first saw the trailer I wasn't that hyped for it but I watched it back like 2-3 times and the hype came through. The way Sora summoned the Keyblade while everyone is running away to him running through the broken building as the glass shattered was amazing
Sora pulled a Kamina with that dark side he said “MY KEY IS THE KEY THAT WILL PIERCE THE HEAVENS!”
Edit: Also Soras hair looks ALOT like Noctis’ from ffxv this could be what nomura wanted versus xiii to be or the closest he can get at this point

So we know that Sora traded his soul for Kairi's at the end of 3.
This world is kinda a afterlife or spirit realm. I have a feeling that there will be multiple stories at play this time around. While sora tries to discover the truth about the master of masters the other characters will be looking for Sora.
It does appear that the realm that Sora currently is in is almost a real world, very likely live action films disney properties will be the focus in this realm Marvel, Star Wars, Jungle Cruise, etc. I do hope they do classic disney and pixar films, would be super cool if they start doing square enix and eidos worlds.

the money they make off of the kingdom heart mobile games gets directly funneled into the bigger tittles. Such as Kingdom Hearts 4. So in a sense you can think of it helping fund the company of the game franchise you love so much. More money is a bigger budget and more content.

This is one of those things where I will contain my hype until more information about the game is released (I.E. release date, more gameplay, reveal of new mechanics…etc) I’ve been let down before with waiting on new KH content. And being a KH nerd, I don’t think my heart can take it if it’s not released in the next year or two.

@@jaygameelixir9610 No final fantasy characters, the combat seems so off, the Disney worlds aren’t that fun though they’re beautiful, you literally get no story progression until the end with huge exposition dumps, the kh worlds are trash, sora felt so much cringier than before (granted it could just be because I’m older), etc. I played kh2 and both by sleep so many times and kh3 wasn’t anywhere near as good as the bests in the series. It was just hugely disappointing but it was also one of my most anticipated haves of all times so I probably did it to myself

Hyped as, but I'm worried that it won't be the cartoon world's, which is what drew me in originally.
Definitely hades at the end with goofy and Donald though! So here's hoping we still go to those worlds!
Definitely in agreeance about the mobile gaming, I've never card for it either.
I wish they'd move away from that, and divert those resources to full and content-rich main titles.
Although I do understand that it's huge over in Japan, and it makes them a TON of money so it makes sense from a business standpoint.
If people are willing to spend the money, they'll keep maximizing that market.

@@simi1022 I think it’s pretty split actually, I think post dlc a lot of people have positive feelings for the game, but in a way that they enjoyed it even though it’s not perfect by a long shot.

I haven't played Kingdom Hearts since the first one, but hell if I don't search this man up every time there's a new KH related thing to see his reaction.
Be honest, KH3 didnt live up to the hype, especially with rushed story and pacing. I hope they take a step back, slow down and let this new saga just naturally flow. "Simple and Clean" isnt just a song, it's a methodology for making a good story.
Ain’t gonna lie, as a huge kingdom hearts fan ( I started waaaay back when it came out in 2002 ) kingdom hearts 3 was such a huge HUGE disappointment to me!! After waiting sooooo many years to play it I was so upset. They had so many opportunities to make kingdom hearts three just a great game especially a nostalgic game for us in our 30s that grew up with it. The game itself lacked in so many areas, yes the design was cool yes the storyline was OK but there was no final fantasy characters and they didn’t even have Halloween town I mean come on everybody loves Halloween town so with that rant over and being said, I am not going to be as excited for this next game since the last one was such a huge letdown

Im in my early 30’s, but what you said was facts. Kingdom hearts 3 was sewer water, so many things wrong with that game. The milking of the franchise, convoluted plot-holes, messy storyline and a saga that would not end. It dragged on and now we are going to be scratching our heads again in 4. I gave up on the series and have accepted it for what it is.

Would love to see a rant about microtransactions and gatcha elements in games, both mobile and full fledged titles. I'm completely with you on the small bit of what you said and I'm sure loads of other people are too. Because that reason, along with it being a mobile title, is why I haven't played games like Union X and Bleach Brave Souls, even though they have interested me because of the story elements.
Mobile games are just time sinks where you let yourself go. And good mobile games are ones that balance p2w and f2p elements by making it so you just have to grind more. There are predatory ones but the good ones that people really talk about and play usually aren’t predatory
I remember begging my friends and classmates to tell me about what happened in chain of memories because I didn’t have access to a DS or whatever it was at the time. I just had my moms ps2
All the other mobile games I had to skip too. I did manage to keep up with the story fairly decently though. It’s a terrible practice for them to split the story across so many platforms and have all of them be important.

I've put money into it and they recently announced EOS, despite the game not even reaching a 4 year life span. That shit is predatory.

That character is lauriam’s (marluxia) sister strelitzia, one of THE lost master. Aka a substitute foretelle, also known as the one Ventus replaced.
Between gaming and movies, 2022 has become one of the biggest fucking years. Yeah there’s still bad shit happening, but man so much good stuff have happened this year announcement wise

At this point, if you really want to be caught up, all of the important Unchained x cutscenes are compiled on youtube and it is about 8 hours long.
I don't know if you'll see this Afro, but you should do a movie night with the homies and watch the cutscenes for the mobile game. It'll fill in some missing stuff and would be fun to watch
Afro just FYI - the Kingdom Hearts Dark Road mobile game is completely free. And Union gives you all the outfits for free now too.
The grapple hook is actually the Keyblade's chain, not its blade. The new things they keep coming up is so much fun.

That was probably a mock up gameplay, so what it's supposed to look like when it's finished, I think that the beginning will be in quadratum, but sora will eventually get out of there where the graphics will be kh3's graphics, so basically what I'm saying is that if I'm correct in assuming this, then they won't be 7 years messing with engines and this game will come out in the next 2 to 3 years, I'd say holiday 2023 or early to mid 2024 is a safe bet to where this game will fall in and I couldn't be happier to be a kingdom hearts fan
