- My V-log series on my 2000 Jeep Wrangler TJ Sport. Where I video update whats going on with my jeep my future and immediate plans on what i am doing with it and my thoughts on them. This is a series mostly for myself and a good way of keeping track of what I've done, when and how.
I was actually gonna order this stuff the other day but never did, actually seeing it in use makes me want it more, good video!
you have come a LONG way brother... you should think about doing a compilation vid on all the mods/repairs... loved seeing the tub liner done, i bet that felt great at the end.
-- Learning a lot about rust management/prevention. Funny take-away. I like messy! Kinda reminds me of something else. Just be thorough ... she might rust on you :)
I'm very fortunate to have a certified professional frame welder 3 miles from my house, he may keep my 16 year old truck going forever, still way cheaper than 65 grand for a new truck, but that's just me.
About to do mine with that as well as some frame repairs - Great job on yours !
David
Thanks, good luck with yours.
Ill need it - hahaha
About to do a 2017 f150. Did the outside in Eastwood platinum and it looks awesome.
Used it on two jeeps. So far so good. Seems to last. Probably do another coating just to make sure everything is sealed up.
Does this encapsulate rust or is it a costing? I’ve hear coatings hold in the moisture and make things worse in the long run because the trapped moisture can’t dry out.
Iv done this with my 4runner my tj is next Iv found tapeing the end of the nozzle to a piece of wire about the same length let,s you manipulate the nozzle to keep it centered in the frame cause the tip drags on bottom of frame . Just sayen
Amazing! Do you have any pictures of that?
Really love you vids man please make more
They do make a black color so it shouldn't be a over spray issue.
yes black color
I am wondering how much rust is eating the frame under that black hard covering somebody coated it with. Typically, ziebart and undercoatings enhance the rusting process by trapping salt and water.
The coating was actually pretty good years after this. Though it was never going to be enough to have it in the long run.
Will do
Its really just a stock YJ with a plow hook up, but maybe.
You should make a video on your white jeep! :D
Did it work long term? or just rust beneath it?
As far as I can tell it has helped long term. I have not done any type of dissection to really check but parts that were rusting seem to have slowed down and no new rust as surfaced from inside out.
does it dry black?
I noticed it goes on green but was hoping it dried black i just picked up 4 cans
looks good should make your vehicle last longer
Nope drys the same color it sprays out as.
FYI Eastwood just came out with a black internal coating also
Cool haven't tried the bed liner - I used some from TCP Global on my YJ
Does this coating protect against road salt?
It dose, anywhere I properly coated has shown no signs of rust. I recommend either doings a coat of POR-15 or applying some type of protection like Amsoil metal protector.
@@romaneverett487 So the Eastwood Internal Fram Coating will help with rust even from road salt for the inside?
Was it the other stuff you typed or the eastwood internal coating that works to protect against road salt from the inside or the outside as well if applied on the outside?
So how did it hold up now?
Jay Gold As far as I can tell good. Its a hard thing to judge because I can see inside the frame. But I still feed good about doing it regardless.
Your video footage makes me nauseated!
