When you run it until it stops with the fuel shut off it does not completely empty the bowl. At the end of the season remove the bowl and smear oil around in it. At the start of the season wipe out the oil and you are ready to go. My Chinese minibikes came with gas tanks that can corrode easily. At the end of the season I drain them and treat them with oil to prevent corrosion.
Another issue, is after 100 hrs of use my 98cc predator stopped. It turned out to be the valve lifters guide plate on one side was worn. So replaced that $7 part and its good again.
Had an interesting issue with one. Hard start , then idled fine, any throttle it quit. rocker arm locknut was loose, and rocker shifted off valve stem , and barely opened valve, because it pushed on spring cap . reinstalled and left slight clearance at stem. ran like new. this will help someone.
I have a brand new predator 212 . Changed the air filter to an aftermarket air filter , the carburetor came out the box with a stuck float . I buy 1 from amazon and jet it . This motor has yet to start and I’ve had it almost 3 weeks, I have no clue any suggestions
Is there oil in it and the kill switch turned to on? I would see if it'll start on starting fluid, should be pretty easy to at least get it to fire. If it does you still have a fuel issue, if not it's a spark or compression issue. If it's an option I'd put it back to stock and return it for a new instead of messing with it.
I got it to start after changing the carburetor that was the epa version of the predator and now I’m stuck again. The motor is installed everything’s ready to go and it won’t start I’m clueless not even with starter fluid
Sounds like mine isnt getting any spark cleaned the spark plug put it back in ot started gave it throttle and it quit tried to restart it to no avail then cleaned the head put it back together for no difference so im kinda stuck
pull the plug out and set it on the head you should be able to see it spark when you pull on the handle. If no spark check oil level and the kill switch connections.
Right on point !! You don't even have to take the carburetor all out just in screw bolt under and screw clean it and boom it's on
I was worried when I saw your tools.
However I believe you've helped me out.
I thank you sir.
Tried to use what I would expect most people to have on hand, like the spark plug tool that comes with the motor.
@@poorlybuilt2060 I was not lying you absolutely helped me out.
I appreciate the video you made.
Good content for us small engine peeps....thank you! Been avoiding the carb...gotta go clean it now,.

@Poorly Built changed the spark plug thats what it was but now its out of time the valves need re adjustment
Mine is brand new. New carb. New fuel pump. New motor honestly. She just won’t start.
Fuel pump on a predator? What's the set up?
Are you getting spark?
What was your solution? I just got one for my son’s mini bike, ran for maybe 7 minutes and now can’t get it to start.
shout me out
