hi hat - A custom crash 16/18 - Sabian hx Ride - Meinl I have A custom cymbal pack, and the sound of the hi hat is just amazing. The crashes are ok, but the ride (in my opinion) needs a little more power but still very very good. Nice video.
Nice demo, in comparing “like” series, but look at the hat sizes, 13” vs 14” is apples to oranges so is that gigantic bell on the Meinl ride to the others.
ZIldjian K /A Customs can do anything, any style, whatever you need. I tell you guys what though, Paiste PSTX line is an incredible colorful trash to add a few to your normal line up. They can do anything an have the perfect amount of cut and sustain. They are the perfect percussion cymbals.. (In my opinion of course) Take a listen here on youtube.. (Paiste PSTX)
I talked to a lot people at a drum clinic and everyone had mixed opinions: The most of them said Sabian, about 2 said zildjian, 1 said paiste and 3 people talked with me about meinl. they said that the byzance in traditional finish are good but that many cymbals of meinl break very fast. also a good friend from me who's playing drums 20 years now told me that he tried out all 4 big brands. He said that he would go with Sabian all the time.
How can a Meinl b10 Line sounds better than the Zildjian A customs. The A’s were so bright and actually hurt my ears when my headphones were on. But those Sabians are gigantic when compared to the other lines
not very fair starting Meinl off at a deficit. Classics Custom cymbals are a different alloy (i.e. cheaper) than the other two. but they held up pretty well in this context. i suspect a better job mixing would have made the other two shine a bit more.
Zildjian: Great hihats, good crashes, ride not so good. Sabian: Hihats ok, bad ride, great crashes. Meinl: Not very good, but Byzance would have won anytime.
*_They all have a different alloy mix, with Meinl and Zildjian being similar with roughly 80% copper and 20% nickel and tin respectively... Sabian, on the other hand, uses a copper/silver/nickel mix... Some, say, silver gives Sabian cymbals their beautiful mid-range harmonics, but without that zing at the top end, which other people actually love... However, it's the quality of the zing at the top end, that either makes or breaks the sound quality of any cymbal... But, at the end of the day, everyone has different opinions, likes and dislikes in that regard... Personally, I look for a wide range of even harmonics in a cymbal, without any particular frequency dominating... For me, Zildian is a safe bet and fits that requirement admirably, however, lately, Meinl has caught my ear... There is definitely something magical going on with the sound of Meinl cymbals._*
Depends on song types.. meinl is darker, more musical. Sabian is in the middle in my opinion. Like Sabian, Zildjian is more universal. Not so dark, more bright with high end tones. In and out... I liked them all actually. If I were to take a set to the studio for this song (which is horrible by the way) I’d go with wish-washy, glassy zildjian or Sabians.
I am even more confused now than before watching ;D ;D What would you guys recommend for all around playing and some rock music, A customs or the Sabians? I feel like I like the sabians more, but the A customs sound brighter? I am confused! :D
hi. excuse me my english... i am searching a good and cheap interface audio, i like icom 1008 satelite... I saw you use it. what can you tell me about her ? it really is good ?
+mason glass I like the Zildjian sounds but in "THIS VIDEO" Meinl sounds crisper especially on the Hats..... No hard feelings man, I'm not even a drummer.. I'm a lead guitarist..But check this out @ 0:04 and compare to 0:49.. You'll hear the big difference and he didn't even changed the force applied.. But anyway it's just the Hats, no big deal... They're all awesome...
From personal experience. Ill take the sabians, not a huge fan of zildjians sound, and the classic customs will break relatively quick if you do any hard hitting. They shouldve compared to the byzance line.
I think for THIS song, the brightness of the sabians win it out. The Meinls kinda gave it a Budlight commercial vibe. Just wasn't the right song for the Zildjians
Well they all have their qualities. For the Hats I'd go for the Zildjians. Just so crisp, love that. That Crashes on the other hand are to thin for me. Cut but little character. For crashes I'd prefer the Sabians. Even though Meinl came close. For the Ride it is Meinl all the way. Just love Pingy big bell rides.
i have an 18 aaxplosion, so right in the middle of the 17 and 19 inchers he uses here, I own alot of cymbals from all th emajor brands and i must say its one of the worst crashes I own, nothing else sounds good with it, not even other AAx's
Estaban Orantes this is an interesting video. The Meinls sound the loudest to my ears with the Sabians a close second, which shows the differences in how people hear things. And I usually shy away from Meinl with their perceived lack of volume and cut, at least some of the lines, like the darker cymbals, but they sit well in the mix here. I am mostly a Paiste guy but the Meinls sound great here, this is so interesting to me because I thought the Sabians were going to win the volume war. But then the Classic Customs were meant to be loud, just didn't think they'd be louder then the Sabians.
A Customs are the clear winners here...I do prefer the K Series Hi-Hats. That said, if you were to compare the A Customs to the HHX Evolutions, now you'd have a whole different battle on your hands.
I’ve always been a Sabian guy, but with the exception of the 16” crash, the order goes: 1) Meinl 2)Sabian 3Zildjian The Sabian 16” crash cuts better, but holy crap, the Meinl symbols sound amazing.
This video cements the fact that all three are top quality cymbal makers and it really comes down to preference.
Oh yes!
Absolutely Dear Friend!
You really can't go wrong with any of these series!
sabians for me. absolute personality
Gui Schwertner I'm more zildjian I wouldn't use these exact zildjian cymbals together but Sabian makes nice cymbals too
+Lake SuttonButtons no doubt my dear. luckily, nearly every brand has great options :D
@@MathewxThexHuman It runs in through family, I suppose.
Yessir
Your wrong choice sabian .
Paiste 👍 very better awesome sound cymbals than sabian👎 or zildjian 👎
Holy crap the Meinl's sound beast!
aax all the way
this came in really handy for me. I couldn't find a decent sound comparison anywhere
Great comparison video, good work!!! Zildjian baby
Nice video I love the combination of the different manufacturers included all in one shot
Really helpful video, expertly edited. Thanks!
I'm a Zildjian fan, but I like it the Meinl sound too...
hi hat - A custom
crash 16/18 - Sabian hx
Ride - Meinl
I have A custom cymbal pack, and the sound of the hi hat is just amazing. The crashes are ok, but the ride (in my opinion) needs a little more power but still very very good. Nice video.

Great Playing........ really they all sounded great with a great drummer at the helm
What, no Paiste? Guranteed they would sound best!
That snare sounds sick...LOL
meinl all the way
I'm more of a sabian person myself, but that ride absolutely kills!
And they cost less
I'll take the Zildjian A Custom Hi Hats, the Sabian Crashes, and I'll buy a Meinl Byzance Brilliant Heavy Ride. Perfect.
same!

You should've also shown how all the rides sound when crashed. A lot of people do that, don't understand why you didn't show it.
I just picked up a set of Meinl Custom Classic Dark Demo cymbal pack 16,18,20,14HH $425.00. You can't beat them.
I talked to a lot people at a drum clinic and everyone had mixed opinions:

Zildjians I like more way more ring and bright but Sabian definitely has my attention maybe I use bought Sabian ride is wicked
not very fair starting Meinl off at a deficit. Classics Custom cymbals are a different alloy (i.e. cheaper) than the other two. but they held up pretty well in this context. i suspect a better job mixing would have made the other two shine a bit more.
Paiste 2002 is also B8 bronze like the classics custom and yet they are some of the best cymbals out there.
I liked the zildjians. I liked the sabian ride and the meinl hats
Zildjian A Customs for me! Peace everyone!
Zildjian A custom for me!
Nice post, I like the comparison...
Love the sound of the AAX's
Zildjian hat, Sabian 19" Crash, Meinl ride. The Sabian Ride is also sweet. That other crash.. I'll have to drink a couple beers while I think it over.
Zildjian & Meinl for me!
Sabian, really like the Xplosion crash cymbals.
I love forever Sabian AAX
Zildjian: Great hihats, good crashes, ride not so good. Sabian: Hihats ok, bad ride, great crashes. Meinl: Not very good, but Byzance would have won anytime.
Zdjian A custom hats, Sabian xplosion crashes and Meinl extreme ride for loud/metal.

hi. excuse me my english... i am searching a good and cheap interface audio, i like icom 1008 satelite... I saw you use it. what can you tell me about her ? it really is good ?
im a zildjian man and i still think zildjian wins

@@russelrenznerosa8969 You're absolutely right
@@russelrenznerosa8969because in this vid meinl hi-hats are more thick (heavy, medium), compared to thinner zildjian (medium, medium thin).
From personal experience. Ill take the sabians, not a huge fan of zildjians sound, and the classic customs will break relatively quick if you do any hard hitting. They shouldve compared to the byzance line.
Zildjian always
Very good vídeo
Good drumming....who is it?
Hi man!
I'm the guy playing here! Thanks!
I think for THIS song, the brightness of the sabians win it out. The Meinls kinda gave it a Budlight commercial vibe. Just wasn't the right song for the Zildjians
At 1.28 you dont hear the crash sound :P
Sorry, some video and audio was recorded separately!
I love sabian AAX
I'm a sabian guy and I like the sabian crashes and ride the best but the zildjian hats win in my books
Zildjian make some if not the best hi hat ever.
Agree, my kit is actually all AAX, except my hi hats are A custom.
Well they all have their qualities.

Esa es una de las razones por las cuales escogí SABIAN
Which one is better?? And what is the most expensive??
First price doesn't equal quality, second you decide which ones are right for the sound you're looking for based on what you hear from this video
+Brian Cole it was a joke dood 😂
Meinl
Låter fett Simen!
Zildjian a custom crash is not bright enough, while medium crash is too nright. Hence, a cust projection is the sweet spot
sabian will always be my favorite
Notice, no Paiste? That's because they are in a class of their own!
Sabian sounds so clean!
A CUSTOMS😎💪🔥🥵
Normally a Meinl fan because a lot of artists I like use them, but I have to go with Zildjian. Didn't really like Sabian. I think they're too loud.
Or overly loud. Meinl seems to be a bit too quiet, especially the hi-hats. At least to me.
Esteban Orantes that's what cymbals are made to be lol
Estaban Orantes this is an interesting video. The Meinls sound the loudest to my ears with the Sabians a close second, which shows the differences in how people hear things. Surprisingly the Zildjian sounded weakest?
Honestly I don't hate any of brands but for me it goes zildjian meinl and then Sabian
Music is way to loud ! Drowning out the cymbals!
A Customs are the clear winners here...I do prefer the K Series Hi-Hats. That said, if you were to compare the A Customs to the HHX Evolutions, now you'd have a whole different battle on your hands.
The backing track is too loud
Meinl, definitely. Now they are made of B12, so, even better
What song is it?
Bought=both
Meinl sounds good
BRUH b20, b20 vs b10? It's kinda wierd comparison
AAXs for the win
Play along tá muito alto kkk mas os pratos são top !
Sabian, nuff said
Meinl is my sound
Zildjian!
Meinl!
Meinl!!!
mienle sounds professional
i prefer a custom series
meinl
Z crash1 0:17
Z crash2 0:22
M crash1 1:02
M crash2 1:07
S crash1 1:47
S crash2 1:52
the 19 aax xplosion crash awesome. meinl crash isnt as good as with the music. zildjian rides are the best
Sabian the best!
It is not correct to compare 13" hh to 14" hh imho. I think Sabian will better at all, but not in this video.
Honestly, I personally think the Sabians are the best sounding out of the bunch shown in this video.
AAX
The winner is .. SABIAN !!!
Ride meinl Top!!!
Ziljian Sabian then Meinl
Zildjian...
Meinl actually wins here
Sabian by a longshot
Sabian
Meinl....

I’ve always been a Sabian guy, but with the exception of the 16” crash, the order goes:
1) Meinl
2)Sabian
3Zildjian
The Sabian 16” crash cuts better, but holy crap, the Meinl symbols sound amazing.
That meinl ride is second to none.
music is too loud
