- A Watercolour tutorial of a Norfolk scene, Scenes made famous by the great Edward Seago, using very few materials and about 30 minutes in total, painted from photos and sketches from a past visit, part 1 of 3
This is a lovely painting and very evocative of the fens. Big, brooding skies, earthy colours and ever so slightly menacing. But there’s quite a lot of brightness as well. Beautiful. And I know this artist not by name but definitely his style.
A wonderful video Steven. I'm looking forward to seeing more. Best wishes & I hope life is spoiling you. 🙏
Thank you Andre. So glad that you enjoyed the video. Best regards, Steve.
Hello Steve, I enjoyed you bold demo. Breathtaking stuff. I had to smile at your palette. I thought Charles Evans palette was a mess but yours is pretty close if not more so. I wish I could be more relaxed about my painting and tools as you are. Quite a good lesson learnt there. Thank You.
Thanks John, Very kind of you, perplexes me when i see people scrubbing away cleaning their palettes after completing a piece of work and insist on using clean water for mixes. Thanks again for your kind comments, best regards, Steve
I thought I ran my brushes ragged. haha Wow! Beautiful and inspirational. Totally making me rethink my paint application and skies. Thanks for this.
Thanks very much Jared, Glad you enjoyed the video
I would very much like to know what brand of paints and paper you use . Thanks for this.
Hi Momchil, I use Winsor and newton artists quality paints, i only use 4 or 5 colours though, Ultramarine Blue, Cobalt Blue, Yellow ochre and Brown madder. I'll add other colours every now and then (a bright yellow when doing a landscape) etc but i use these 4 in every painting i do and possibly add a touch of white at the end. the paper i always use is Saunders rough paper, hope this helps, Steve
@@stevenrigby453 Thanks
Filming at times is a bit blurry I dont know if seago done a scrub by type style at least it doesn't look like it to me
Hi, This was was one of the 1st ones videos i did, trying to get the set up right. The Seago reference is more aimed at the sort of scene from one of my painting trips, thanks for the comment,
Well you are doing very well and good luck with your venture and adventure 👍👍👍
