Using remnants from my last painting, a tonal scene which will really come in handy for a future painting. Once my palette had dried there are fabulous greys that appear quite accidentally. Use them for little pieces like this, a great quick exercise and a great way to cleanse ones palette

This is a lovely painting and very evocative of the fens. Big, brooding skies, earthy colours and ever so slightly menacing. But there’s quite a lot of brightness as well. Beautiful. And I know this artist not by name but definitely his style.
