Imagine the guilt Jax must've felt after Opie died. Remember that Opie at one point wanted out of SAMCRO but it was Jax who talked him into staying and as a result Donna gets killed and Opie gets killed. Jax never saw things from Opies perspective because he didn't have a family. The irony is that once Jax had a family of his own, Tara and the kids, he wanted out as well.
