      My son's Trigger 7 pro lasted 2 games and 1 practice. He also broke the Trigger 6 pro he had prior. He like how it felt but if you've got a heavy shot in any way, you're playing with fire. They aren't very durable. The second Trigger he got (he's broken 3 so far) was broken after the ref stepped on it so that one I can't blame on CCM but damn. Sh.t happens out there right? What about different levels of trigger sticks? Trigger 7 pro vs. Trigger platinum, etc? TONS of youth and young adult players can't afford the high end sticks and buy the next level down, so how do those compare? Is there any relationship at all between high end and next level down sticks? A couple shorter comparisons (hyperlite vs. shift pro or 3x, trigger 7pro vs trigger platinum, etc) and maybe one longer video comparing multiple second-level sticks would be amazing for all of us hockey parents with kids who outgrow their sticks at least every year.

Backup stick was not very good and he was in an important tournament so he ended up getting the Trigger 7 pro that had just been released. It lasted 2 games and 1 practice before it too snapped. Never again will I be forking out the $$ for any CCM Triggers. The one good thing is that CCM was good about the warrantee. Got credit for a new stick at the store.

      That's totally personal preference. There's no answer except going out to try it yourself. Borrow someone else's low and mid/hybrid kick sticks and give them a try. My son (USA 14U AA) loves his low kick sticks, and with a mid-kick it looks and feels like he's waving around a piece of construction lumber. But some of his teammates love their hybrid and mid kick sticks. So that is 100% personal. Everything I've ever heard about the FT sticks point to them being very good all-around sticks so just give them a try with a loaner, or buy a low-end version of the same stick so you can give the different kickpoint a try without spending $400.

    • @surlycrosscheck1
      @surlycrosscheck1 Год назад +1

      @@seanlong9049 My son also plays U14 AA here in Canada and you're right. They are now getting to an age where they are figuring out what they like and don't like in their equipment. Unfortunately for my kid, he's having to make an adjustment because he keeps blowing sticks up (the trigger 7pro being the latest). He had a pretty big growth spirt and is now far too big for his preferred flex and low kick stuff. I obviously can't keep buying $400 sticks so on Friday we're headed out to look for something completely new. Going to a Senior, 75 flex, mid kick, P28........that's all I know. He'll be in the store shooting a while before he decides I'm sure but I dread the first couple of practices and games. His passing and shooting will likely be a disaster for a bit. 😂

    I would like to know if you buy one of these expensive ass sticks how long would the “flex” last? I’ve always been curious if you buy a stick at the “flex” you love and play a few games… does that flex last, or how much that stick weakens.

    • @TheTBull8
      @TheTBull8 Год назад

      The flex never changes over time. What you might noticed is the change in blade “pop”. Brand new sticks always have that pop but eventually that starts to fade. Which can be very frustrating if you’re always wanting top performance. I personally prefer to drop down one price level to the $200 tier. Usually has a lot of the same tech, but slightly heavier. That way I don’t feel bad if I decide to buy another one in a couple months once the pop starts to fade or if anything else happens to the stick

    • @noly2685

      Hi there, I work at a hockey store and can directly speak to this specifically based on experience. The Trigger 7 Pro and FT5Pro from CCM both have insane durability issues. I have never seen so many of the same sticks break like these two. People bring us back their broken sticks for warranties, and the amount of Trig 7 Pros we’ve had to exchange is absurd. Stay away if that’s something that concerns you.

    • @Colbyw74
      @Colbyw74 Год назад

      it depends on how she plays/how the flex is, if you’re someone who uses a very low flex in comparison to strength like a phil kessel with your stick flexing like plastic then its going to break very easily of course because of its weight. someone like me who uses a slightly higher flex in comparison to strength/weight ratio then it will be fine for months years maybe if you treat it well dont slam on things dont try to flex it and see how flexxy it is etc personally i love my sling and geo used my geo all last year looks almost brand new aside from some paint chipping and a couple minor chips on the blade from the puck ive had my sling for about a month and its the best stick i’ve ever used. if she likes slappers one tees and QUICK of thr blade hard shots id say get the sling or sync/geo if she’s someone who scores goals on the rush and is looking for the fastest maybe not the hardest but something that gets off the blade ASAP when theres an opening then go with a trigger 7 or ag5nt/hyperlite. if shes someone like a defensman or grinder who’s battling and trying to get the most velocity and power on her shots especially slappers and hard wristers id suggest the supreme adv/supersonic or like an as4 pro or something like a warrior alpha. hopefully this helps if you haven’t made a purchase yet!

  • @seanlong9049

    How about an educational video (not comparison) about matching stick curve to kickpoint? P88 vs. P28 vs P92 vs P29 for style when using various kickpoint sticks? Also, some brands use completely different blade profiles and the descriptions on store websites are useless. So how about an educational vid on blade curves?

    • @noly2685
      @noly2685 Год назад +1

      The two things are entirely different and have nothing to do with each other. There is no curve that you’d be better off using corresponding to your kick point, it’s a complete preference. Also P29 and P92 are the same thing.

    • @seanlong9049
      @seanlong9049 Год назад

      @@noly2685 They kind of do apply... My younger kid (who doesn't over-think anything) consistently yeets it over the net if he has a low kick stick and the p28 curve, while with a hybrid or mid kick stick he needs the p28 curve just to get it off the ice without dipping his shoulder to scoop it. Technique? Yea of course. But that fits in with play style. Are you banging in front of the net or like fast quick releases, or are you shooting from farther out? A really twisty curve can help lift the puck but do you really want that if you're looking for powerful shots from farther out? And your comment about p29 and p92 being the same thing very precisely supports my point that an educational video would really help explain the dozen or so blade curves on the market. My younger kid plays either center or is an "active" defenseman (meaning he usually ends up leading at least one 4-man rush per game) and so far I've been picking his gear based entirely on how he looks in the game. When he spent 2 months playing closer to the net and was having to dip his shoulder to scoop the puck, it was obvious that he needed a curve that would help him get the puck up so we switched from p29 to P28 and it was all good. But he's been playing D all season and he's starting to send it high. So for his next stick, I'm wondering if a low kick instead of mid kick stick might help when he's in close, but use a less twisty curve to help him put all his effort into the shot without constantly sending it over the net. Yes, he has a shooting coach and the coach says his form is ok and helping him dial in his accuracy by matching his stick to his *actual* technique (not some imaginary ideal technique) is the right way to approach it. So... How about an educational video discussing blade profiles and kick points, matching *both* of them to play style?

    Bauer loses for me just because their stick is so short. 335g... yeah, cuz you chopped 2 inches off the damn shaft. Sucks because I really did want to use it, but returned it and got the Trigger 7 Pro. Super happy with it so far so it's whatever. I like purple better than green anywho lol.

      Let me know how many games you get out of that 7pro. I know of 3 people who broke them in under 30 days. My kid's lasted 2 games and 1 practice. Broke 3 minutes into his second practice.

    Ag5nt over the Trigger 7 pro Anyday. Anything that’s not an Ag5nt might as well be a Wood stick cause that’s what they feel like. . .
    p.s. The stick isn’t inconsistent, you are
    i played AAA all my life so our experience is the same but in my opinion the stick is perfect it shoots flawless, every shot.

    My son had to go back to his old Tigger 6 because he broke 2 Ag5nt sticks in 3 weeks, 2nd stick only lasted 2 games.....Bauer won't stand behind and warranty the 2nd stick. Very poor quality.

    the agent is brittle junk, the reviews don't lie on that. Although I wasn't very impressed with the durability of my first trigger 7 pro either.

    Sticks are so ridiculously expensive nowadays. I remember a time when decent wooden sticks were about 20 euros a piece. Now you have to pay 300 euros for some carbon sticks.

    I think you should get a player who is of higher calibre to actually give a solid review the reason he says it’s a hit or miss when shooting cause you have to be a solid player and know how to shoot perfect every time he’s just not the player to benefit from the technology find a better player do another review

    • @HockeyTutorialOfficial

      Lol. We’ll get right on that 😂. I guess all the perfect robot players that shoot perfectly every single time will really benefit from this stick.

      If they are selling $350 sticks to the public, then the public should test it...that way if a bad shot rings you up, the avg player wants to know that...in softball, we call that the sweet spot and bad hits can ring you up too and all users should know that
