  • Khakassia is a region in Russia. The Khakas people are Turkic, and their culture, including music, has some similarities to the culture of Tuva, a neighboring region in Central Asia. Like Tuva, throat-singing is practiced in Khakassia, often accompanied by a two-stringed instrument called the khomys.
    Traditional Music Channel is for everyone who has a passion for music.
    Music is an expression of human creativity. UNESCO reports that among all the performing arts, music is the most universal and is found in every society, most often as an integral part of other performing art forms and other domains of intangible cultural heritage.
    Traditional forms of music are considered carriers of cultural heritage because they represent expressions and traditions transferred through generations of a community.
    With recordings from more than hundred nations our collection of traditional music offers a staggering diversity of our humanity.

      @Joshua Hickman True, Indigenous Americans crossed into N/S America from Northeast Siberia thousands of years ago, Ainu descended from Siberians thousands of years ago as well, however Turkic people didn't all descend from the same Siberians (Siberians are diverse, they split into Ural-West Siberia, Northeast Siberia, & South Siberia-Mongol region), while Native Americans came from Northeast Siberians, Turkic people came from South Siberians who are culturally closer to Central Asians than present day Indigenous Ural/Siberians. In my family's case, we have East Slavic roots & indigenous [Finno-Ugrian & Turkic] roots from Volga/Ural/West Siberia.

    • @StopFear
      @StopFear 3 года назад

      @kret akont Not sure what you mean by “Turks created Rus’”. I don’t mind if they actually did. I am aware that mongols and Tatars ruled it for a period of time, which is not a problem with me. But by “created” people can interpret anything. I also think, at least in the area of the world where Russia and near east is, these people are known specifically as Tatar, and/or Mongol. Not because Russians called them that, but because people identified themselves as such. they are “turkic”, but Tyurks with a capital T, also known as Osmans/Osmanli are specifically the Turks who migrated to Anatolia region and controlled it afterward as Muslims. Of course there are different ethnic minorities living in Turkey, but they are “Turks” in reference to their citizenship. It doesn’t make them ethnic Turk. If they have mixed families then it’s whichever they choose to identify as. You can call them Greek/Armenian/Kurdish/Persian/Arab Turkish. Ethnic Turks are Turkish Turks. One is ethnicity, another is nationality. They can can use the same word “Turk” but mean very different things.

    • @sampokhan6067
      @sampokhan6067 3 года назад +2

      Well, it is true that Russia and Ukraine have had contact with Turkic peoples *at least* since the Golden Horde times (wouldn’t surprise me if there were contacts here and there before then though), but even then they largely remained separated. I don’t really get what similarities you’re hearing, since they sound way different to me. Throat signing, for one, is non-existent in russian/ukrainain folk music (the closest you could possibly argue is that “white noise” singing but that’s unrelated). And typically the folk songs are similar to the beats similar to other European countries, in contrast to what we would consider more irregular time signatures used in Turkic cultures (not even to mention different scales). Some folk instruments, namely the domra, might derive from turkic ones, but even then it’s not entirely clear. Just curious what similarities you’re hearing? As for the rus state, very few claim Turks created it (in fact, this random internet comment is the first claim I’ve seen of this); in the end we can’t know that one for sure, but honestly idgaf about that either.
