Shows all the obvious stuff but not how to unplug the two connectors! Take out the shift indicator first, then the grey hoop has to be swung away from the wires which levers the connector out of the socket. BUT there’s a tiny black tab locking the grey hoop. You can’t easily turn the cluster to see it until it you’ve got the shift indicator off. Don’t force the hoop or it will snap. 😅
its the milage trip reset button people over time push too hard cracking the circuit board. push button in and up right toward 2 oclock for 5 seconds youll see. the button is electronic and should be pressed not pushed
Thank you so much for the instructive video. I had to laugh because I'm going through the exact same things including tapping on the lens. One difference is when my gauges go down, my power windows won't work. Just wondering, since I live in the van, can it be driven without the instruments? I'll be shipping it out to you soon.
It's common for the windows, radio, and dome lights to stop working as well so our repair will fix that issue! But with the instrument cluster removed, your van will not start because the immobilizer data is stored inside the cluster. Thanks for watching!

i have issue where with ignition on but engine off the cluster keeps turning off and on repeatedly. and when brake is pressed or turn signal is on it goes out too (flashes on/off with turn signal). and when engine is running it just says stuck off. also engine won't start without starting fluid and appears to run lean. there was a code for FPDM but i replaced that. now it seems to not start at all even with fluid. do you have any idea what's wrong?? does the cluster need repair or is there something else wrong?
Hello! Its really hard to diagnose an issue like this via text, would you be able to give us a call so we can see what options we have for you? 262-456-4147
Mine is 2005 E250 I hear sometimes 5 beeps there are some check lights on as well but I have been driving it like this since I bought it 8 years ago. If I change this cluster 5beeps might go away?
You know when removing the headlight switch if you reach behind it there is a black box it attaches to on the top of the box there is a button push th the button in and pull on the switch it will come right out.
Hey Demingo! We can't legally recommend you drive your vehicle without a gauge cluster as the DOT requires you have a way to actively monitor your vehicle's speed. So the only option would be to use another vehicle in the mean time - we have same-day repair options available so we can get it back ASAP!
Thanks for the vid ! Any idea if this (type of) Cluster can be retrofit in to an ‘03 ? I just got van, and want an OE Tach in my Cluster ..... Perhaps from other model (F-Series, Excursion, ....) ? Thanks !
In our experience, Ford is VERY picky with their part numbers and if they aren't an exact match, we can't guarantee they will work. But I'm sure with enough money, time, and patience - anything can be retrofitted to work into anything!
My speedo is bouncing / jumping around in my 04 e350 and my transmission shifts hard. I scanned and got a P0721 OSS. I changed the sensor but still same issue. Im being told it may be the cluster. Does this sound like a common issue with the cluster and could you fix it? Thanks
Thanks for reaching out! One question so that we can better advise you - is yours a digital cluster like shown in our video OR is it an analog cluster with the mechanical odometer in the middle?
Thanks! The repair service we offer for the digital clusters usually applies to intermittent power and loss to radio, dome lights, etc. Because the issues are not common for the digital clusters, we wouldn't be able to diagnose your cluster without having it here to test. Here is the repair service: bit.ly/2004-2008-ford-cluster-repair However, we can't guarantee our repair will solve your problems. We recommend sending your cluster in for diagnostics so our tech can bench test it and determine if our repair will help: bit.ly/general-diagnosis
you can remove the radio from the panel separately. There are 4 holes on the radio panel. Find a tool such as a straight pic ( you need 4 one in each hole) and push into hole. Angle the pic towards the middle of the radio Then pull the radio out. There are 2clips on eaxh side thar hold the radio in. To replace radio just push it back into the dash panel.
Hey Tom! It doesn't sound like you watched the entire video, but we showed common issues people are experiencing with this gauge cluster, as well as how to remove it if you're wanting to send it in to us for repair. If theres anything we missed that you'd like to see specifically, let me know and we'd be happy to take care of that for you!
Only the lcd is not working on mine , sometimes it lights up and displays weird caracters like all light at once looks like chinese , and most time just stays off , but when it come on it will sometimes work normalley for a few minutes.Any clues on how to fix this?
Hey Stephane! Can you send me a picture so I can get a better idea of the problem you're having? I'd be happy to tell you if its fixable with a new LCD or if its a bigger issue within the cluster itself. jax@taninauto.com
Give us a call at 262-456-4147 at your earliest convenience. We will be happy to help you out if you can get us more info on your cluster and what repair service will work for it. Thanks!
Incomplete INSTRUCTIONS on removing Cluster. You MUST remove the headlight Button. Then remove the bezel on the headlight switch. The Radio Must be removed unless you plan on damaging it. The Radio is Easy to Remove. It has 2 small holes on each side of the face. Insert a small flathead screwdriver into each hole and press in toward the Radio and Pull Gently. Repeat for both sides. As you pull out the radio disconnect the connector from the bottom and antenna. Disconnect the Power Port and Cigarette Lighter Socket. Then the Dash Bezel will come out. If you're replacing bulbs. The main 4 Bulbs (Large Black Holders) are 194. The indicator Lights (smaller than holder) are 74. Adios
Hey Danny, thanks for the comment! We appreciate anyone contributing information to help our customers in their DIY repairs, but there's more than one way to skin a cat! ;)
Its a vehicle I cant have down for more than a few days. Murphys law would come into play and the cluster would be stuck at the border or lost. Also, if you shipped by UPS they would hit me with a wonderful brokerage fee of $50-$100, they are famous for that.
We can ship back and forth express or overnight and have the repair done the same day we receive it. Also since it is a repair service there aren't any additional customs fees. There is a special tariff code for that.
There is a small slot on one side of the handle. I put a small screwdriver in it only to find out you really do have to pull Hard! Then grab the bezel and unscrew it. The switch is attached to the framing so it will not come out. Also, Don't forget to remove the Radio!

What would make a constant ringing noise? Like the same noise when the low fuel light comes on but its constant and annoying
whats your website again?

As a stop-gap measure there is a speedometer app for your phone that works via GPS.

Sounds like the airbag warning. Either the airbag light is burned out, or something similar

When removing the dashboard trim, you have to completely remove the radio, right? Is there a way to remove it without the tool? Thanks.
The radio should remain attached to the dash trim and pull out of the dash enough to remove the cluster.
you can remove the radio from the panel separately. There are 4 holes on the radio panel. Find a tool such as a straight pic ( you need 4 one in each hole) and push into hole. How do you remove the light switch knob?
You need to use enough force to take off the knob, it may seem like your going to break it but you wont.
Do you need to use a screwdriver to push on something or how do you release the clip?
The small metal clips pulls off of the shaft towards you.
There is a small slot on one side of the handle. I put a small screwdriver in it only to find out you really do have to pull Hard! Then grab the bezel and unscrew it. The switch is attached to the framing so it will not come out.
