Thanks a lot to Joyce for this amazing masterclass! But I think that the student is not a soprano . May be she is the high mezzo and this kind of aria isn't sute for her.
Hi everybody! Does anyone know what Joice means by "spinning"? I'm from Germany and I do understand the meaning of the word, but I am not familiar with it as a term for the technicalities of singing. Could somebody explain?
I simply love you, Joyce. Thank you soooo much!!! And congratulations for the student!!! :D
Thank you for your comment. We're delighted to know that you enjoyed Joyce DiDonato's master classes.

The girl can sing in a great Italian 😍, I love this, I think that is the most important thing with the technique
Thanks for posting this video! My favorite Joyce tutorial. I think the student is more mezzo!
Thank you for watching, we're glad you enjoyed this video.

When most people say "spin" they mean an even flow of air that results in a spinning sensation at the soft palate. Hope that helps!
Watch at the end... she said "spin" is subdivision's tempo, active - light - energizing breath
keeping the breath active, alive, not fixed. Flowing
I can definitely see her on the operatic stage...
Great accompanist!
Interessante
She has a beautiful, rich voice that is way too big for this aria/role!
