    Here’s hoping 1995 Honda odyssey belt system will be set up the same.
    Update: it was exactly the same as hoped for. Best mechanic RUclips video I’ve come across. That 12mm is a pain with out a leverage extension for your ratchet. Awesome video and I think it’s safe to assume this is pretty accurate for most Hondas of this generation.

    My 97 Accord 2.2 power steering belt rubs on the car a little bit, is this normal?

    I feel like I'm missing something. I replaced both but the power steering pump was leaking and I replaced it and tried to clean the pulleys but the AC belt keeps loosening up. You did what I did, just wondering how the belt can stretch five times in a row

      Appreciate it man I had just a little squeak on start up on my 95 accord and I put some belt dressing on it yesterday which caused it to stop but later on in the night now my car is making a very nasty sound continuously from what I’ve read that built dress and stuff, contaminates a belt and ruined them so now I’m going to have to do a change on both of them I was just trying to get the part numbers correct? You know but thanks for your help man.

    Hey can you tell me what types of nuts & bolts you're loosening here please? I need to replace a few broken ones(the first & Third you removed in this video)but I'm totally oblivious as to what I'm looking for, I'm far from a mechanic.

    • @tongo117
      @tongo117  3 года назад +1

      Can't tell you more than what's in the video.. First is 12mm nut, third is 10mm bolt.. My advice would be to try and find what you need at a salvage yard.. Or, Honda dealership parts dept. Take pics so you can show them exactly what you're looking for..

    • @Honeey98
      @Honeey98 2 года назад

      Yeah the cheapest idea would be a pick n pull and you can just go under the hood of the same vehicle and take the nuts and bolts you need it’ll probably cost around 5 bucks

    Dang 10mm bolt broke , do you know what thread and length is it for the power steering bolts

      @tongo117  3 года назад

      Sorry.. No I don't.. I would head to the salvage yard if you have access to one..

    Hello sir, just to confirm... the 2 new belts you used are the ones posted in your video.. i just copied the brand and the id numbers written on it..

    • @tongo117
      @tongo117  4 года назад +1

      Bando belts used in video are 4PK1070B and 6PK1115B.. I should have put the belt numbers in the description when I posted the video.. They are there now.. And the link in the description takes you to the page where I bought them..

      Not sure.. Wherever I bought the belts I would look for a list of compatible vehicles..

  • @johnremcastro

    Is it the same belt part numbers for the vtec version of this engine?

    • @tongo117
      @tongo117  3 года назад +1

      List of compatible on this page does not distinguish between vtec and non vtec so I would think these belts would fit.. If it's a 4cyl 2.2 litre... www.ebay.com/itm/152181959843

      So here I am already removed the old belts. Great video, by the way. Everything was exactly how I removed it. But for some reason, what was installed for my Power Steering was the 4PK1050 not the 4PK1070 you used.. This is not the original Honda part, and is 20mm shorter than the 4PK1070. I'm guessing the previous owner had these installed at some point. I am wondering if I should install the Bando 4PK1070 (I already have it on hand), or find a 4PK1050 instead. By the way, the reason I am replacing is because the belts have become squeaky on cold start. I could mess around with the tension to try and fix the squeals, but I thought replacing the belts can be worth the effort since they are cheap enough, and just require few more extra steps. I realized that it (wrong spec belt) may be the reason for premature wear on the belts. Your thoughts?

    • @tongo117
      @tongo117  3 года назад

      The link below shows a list of 225 compatible vehicles for 4PK1050.. None of them are Honda.. Mostly Toyota.. So that's the wrong belt for your Accord.. I would install the 4PK1070.. www.ebay.com/itm/Serpentine-Belt-Rib-Ace-Precision-Engineered-V-Ribbed-Belt-Bando-4PK1050-/313450990847#vi-ilComp

    • @tongo117
      @tongo117  3 года назад

      Also, not sure if it makes a difference but the belt I installed was Bando 4PK1070B

    • @johnremcastro
      @johnremcastro 3 года назад +1

      Thanks for helping out a guy commenting on one of your old videos. I'll go ahead and install the 4PK1070, that's also I what I found on my own research to be correct for this engine. I believe the difference of the 'B' designation is just the manufacturing origin. Those are not available in my country. The Bando belts sold here are all without the B suffix. While I notice the B ones are all made in the USA. But that's just a guess, of course.

    Tip when removing old belts. Just cut them.
