I bought a Husqvarna 2654 at Lowes. It was a returned mower. It had 98 hours on it from the previous owner and it was definitely abused. I love this mower. That was 4 years and today it's got 400 plus hours on it. Ive done nothing to tractor other routine maintenance and replaced the blades this past spring. Its a very reliable tractor ztill has the original battery in it. Now thats unheard of. When the time comes to replace it i will definitely buy another Husqvarna, just hope they still have the LGT 2652 model. It's a very good tractor.
Just received my 2014 Husqvarna LGT2654 today. Mine has a Kohler 7000 Series engine instead of the Courage engine. Still trying to determine which transmission I have. Hoping that I have the upgraded transmission to go with the upgraded engine. Rain forecast for the next few days, so it'll be a few days until I get to take it on it's maiden voyage. It was returned to the store (Lowe's) with 2 hours on the engine because the new owners wanted a smaller deck to maneuver around their landscaping. I picked it up at a "used price" of $1600.00... Can't beat that with a stick!
navyregrets The LGT 2654 has a K46 light duty transmission. The true GT's have the K66 series. $1600 is a good deal, but be ready for frame, & transmission issues in the future.
LGT2654 means it has the light junk transmission but great price for the look of the true GT2654. Guys...if this has the K40 or K46 tufftorq transmission research tufftorq website. The tires are to big for the max rating of that hydro unit from factory. Spend the money and get the GT version and not the LGT version if you plan on pulling and using ground engaging attachments. If your not using ground engaging attachments then go with lawn tractor. I really feel this video in my opinion is not getting the dirty information to the people.
Husqvarn does make a great riding mower. They make craftsman 3000 models and up riding lawn mowers. Love the metal hood. I look at a new Cub Cadet yesterday at Family Center and when I lifted the hood I thought that it was broke. I'm thinking of getting a craftsman YT4000 it has the turn tight and lifetime warranty on front end. Also has feet hydrostat controls 46inch deck and vtwin motor.
I have one of these also it bought 2014 used. My problems with it is high grass caused belt to vibrate breaking one of pulleys under chassis easy to replace. I leave my mower out in weather sun cracked the gas tank they are crazy hard to replace. Yeah it leaks oil from under OHV covers but no where else easy to reseal did that today. I actually haven't changed oil in 5 years I mow 3 lawns hour each all summer in Illinois. Deck wash is pointless. Headlight wiring slipped under hood and melted the connector so they dont work anymore. I ran in to hole striped teeth off steering plate gear. He says in video 3 pins to get deck off that is completely incorrect there are 6 connection from deck to chassis. All in all its been a good mower to me. I did change oil, replaces steering gear plate, replaced gas tank, resealed OHV cover, and sharpened blades today.
@@rieriec.36 no actually I bought it used. So it has exceeded my expectations. It's not the one I originally purchased because the yahoos at Lowe's sold the one I bought so they gave me this bigger one at the same price as it's 42" model.
I've got an '87 Ford LGT 18H. It's almost 30 years old, but still running strong. Then you see new ones that go to crap in the first 500 hours. Now that's pathetic.
I have the ltgt5426 with the Kohler 7000 series engine and upgraded transmission it’s a 2016 used it all summer mower 2 archers and no problems at all mows great and fast plenty of power I had the John Deere 216 for years as far as mowing this is just as good and mows faster the John Deere was heavier though
It's sad that folks actually buy the LGT series thinking that they're buying a garden tractor, when in fact they're getting an overpriced riding mower with bigger back tires, and then give Husqvarna a bad rep when stuff breaks because they misuse it, and don't read the operators manual, that clearly state that this riding lawn mower is limited on it's capabilities.
never wash your mower till it cools down. the deck wash is great but if you wash it when it's hot it will cause the bearings to go out. the seals are hot and the water can get past them when the seals are hot
Electronic Experiments No. It has the wrong transmission for ground engaging G implements. Get a GT instead. The K46 in these is too weak for this tractor. LGT means light duty, I.e. Mower only.
you'll be surprised how strong they are. I have a request. Ive only seen a couple reviews but I think if I needed at riding mower or garden tractor Id want to get a "Raven 46-in Hybrid Riding Lawn Mower" You can buy it at Lowes. Its a HYBRID with a built in generator. If you ever get a chance go take a look at it. I think we are alot a like and I think you guys would dig it. Thumbs up by the way (as always)
@@Toolsinaction thanks I was just curious it looks like a great lawn tractor and Husqvarna has always been a quality name remember back in the day their dirt bikes we're Bulletproof
I wish I had that 10 minutes back. Another video of guys that don't give us anything usable. Guys, that's NOT a serpentine belt, either! They are "V" belts. Go look at the belts on any new car. Those are serpentine belts!
DO NOT PURCHASE: 182 hours and have had to replace Hydro-static Drive (transmission) ($1378), PTO Clutch ($525) and head gasket leak ($175). Loading it up to take it into the shop again to have the deck lever replaced and deck mount welded. It sure did look pretty when it was sitting on the Lowes showroom floor though.
It's sad that folks that buy the LGT's think they're buying a garden tractor, when in fact they're getting an overpriced yard tractor with bigger back tires, and then give Husqvarna a bad rep when stuff breaks because they misused it, and didn't research the machines capabilities, or read the operators manual.
Finn Campeau How do you figure?? They're built in the same factory as the others. The LGT2654 is a riding lawnmower with bigger tires, not an actual garden tractor. Should've gotten the GT52XLS series if you were planning to do any heavy work with it.
the biggest problems are the thin frame that flexes under you and the junk kohler courage engine that uses plastic cam gears and your very luck to get 600 hrs out of it
I have the Gth2654 almost the same as this and i can tell you they are cheap to buy £4200, but very poor quality after 21 hours use back axle fell off, wrong bolts fitted at factory. Its 2012 model and now has 260 hours on it. Chassis has been welded up as split, i have fitted loads of front wheel bushes, steering joints worn out, stub axles bent upwards, deck hanger snapped, belts have snapped, deck roller wheels bolts snap off off plus lots of other things gone wrong, Heavy on fuel, poor for towing. I can say no problems with rear axle internals or engine as not made by Husqvrana!! the mulching kit was very cheap £80, and the cut is a nice finish but apart from that crap. My machine looks clean and well kept but is worn out.
We had a Husqvarna and it was a piece of crap. Nothing but problems with the engine and it vibrated terribly. The mower deck didn't move very well either. Had to go slow just to get an even cut. The two best riding mowers are Simplicity (formerly Allis Chalmers) and John Deere (according to consumer reports)

I moved here when I was very very young!
Mine is a 2017. I can not find OEM blades for replacement. Could you tell me which ones you use?
Yah it would and it has a great price at 1750.00 thanks dan and eric
I was looking at that this past weekend and I wanted to get it it is a very nice machine

Is that common with these?
Hmm, I have not heard that

im disappointed that the speed is not what it should be especially when backing or going uphill, even a little--how can I speed it up
you guys do awesome vids! love the channel. Anyway im looking in to getting this tractor!
450 yfz Thanks 450

You do not show how to replace belt.on gth2654.
did not say nothing about the 12V power port on the Left side
I own a bran new 2654. I'll swap you for that 4 wheeler thing you're towin around with yours. lol ? Whatever it is, I want one!

We want a RAVEN so bad!
All they could do is take air out of the tires to make cheaper the kohler is all full
HA! so true
If Dan is from England why does he have a midwestern accent?
I had a hard time hearing your conversations. My lap top volume was at it's highest. I think your camera needed to be closer.
i have a craftsman gt5000 (made by Husqvarna) and its junk, i love the husky name but they dropped the ball on thr gt5000

Looks like will never need one of those unfortunately
Forward & reverse stuck
The lawn is dead... There's snow on the ground...

Poor quality Video on the sound. You wasted your time on this one guys!
This mower is junk, terrible turning radius, frame is weak , and the mowing deck has to be adjusted alot. I do not recommend it at all.
Get better mics, sound sucks.
