Great video Cory u explain how a tree farm works very good 👍. I already knew most of how it goes but i still listened to the video just to learn some more things that i didn't know about and yes alot of people think u just plant the seedlings and just let them grow well after listening to this video they will have a way different outlook on tree farming lol. Keep up the good work all you guys and the trees u have r all beautiful trees u really take care and maintain ur trees
Ive begun to add Christmas trees to my farm. Im doing that very small scale hoping to at some point sell 100-200 trees to locals that want a place to cut their own. Each year Im planting roughly 200 trees. I have fraser fir, eastern red cedar and virginia pine right now. This spring I hope to plant roughly 200 grand fir. Im planting them as I read they grow really fast. Should I still expect 8 years or is there a chance they could be ready in 5-6? Central PA if that makes a difference.
The problem we found with grand fir is needle retention, they don’t hold up as long as Fraser’s. Also they are prone to winter burn(needles turn red in winter). As far as growth they are average, maybe slightly faster than Fraser but not much. They are one of the best smelling trees.
Fun video! Even from Sweden!!
Glad you enjoyed it!
Perfect explanation, thanks
You're welcome!
