    You could use a centre-finder! Many moons ago when I was a school workshop technician a pupil made a circular table about a metre across. She needed to find the centre to fit a lazy Susan. KI showed her a small metal centre finder. She made a large copy with a long straight edge made from a piece of laminated mdf shelving. We kept it as a teaching aid!

    I like the tap guides, also useful as drill guides .😊

      Yes they do keep twist drills in line too, but they would start to show signs of wear quickly I think }:-)))

    If the pain of running the tap through your hand doesn’t give you the clue, the presence of blood should tip you off for certain. Those tap guides are a great idea.
    You also stay safe and extremely healthy!
