I can confirm 100% . Whenever I PvP with 6ks with 3000 armor, they basically die as fast as someone with 3k res. That is why I always alternate every 1k res jump and make sure my armor/armor pen are within 1k of my resonance. If you just want pretty wings, go ahead and spend on reso, but if you do that you will end up dying a LOT more because you get matched with high res people who have high armor pen/armor, making you a pretty wet paper bag in PvP
Above 1k is doable in early stages of reso. When you reach hardwall normal gems lvl8 then you cant make that big jumps for secondaries or you need to spend hard, real hard

@@IndezYT thanks for reply, it is 80% on wiz dps channeling damage, and around 20% on dots ; i'm currently all on potency , from dummy test id did it is really not noticeable the difference from arm pen vs potency, so still not clear what to pick also if i may ask: for pets the lingering wounds would also work fine with a cat pet or better pick another type that makes offense area skill? thankyou very much!
Potency and Armor Pen work differently in PvP and PvE. VS dummy you won’t see much difference For lingering you need a pet that attacks, Broodtalin is the best

@@INF1NIT3SIN are you talking about the Terror Rift bonus? Well that will depend on your class. In general skill Magic attributes are better than Crit, specially in PvP but depending on how much important it is. In PvE well Crit is king so… maybe going a bit more dmg isn’t bad
If you are a whale can make sense, but for F2P/lower reso going with high CR is better for survivability and damage. Personally I tried going with just Fort+Will in my pieces and I felt much squishy compared to before - you just lose too much CR since my leg gems aren’t high rank
I hv a total of 11813 fortitude but my armour pent is just around 1700. Horadim is quite low ( working on it ) but some of my green sets are not using fortitude since it will drop my combat rating and cr is pretty important since im close to inf 2 difficulty so my question is do i dip my secondary gears that has no fortitude and keep those that has fortitude only or i keep the ones that are giving me high cr? Since its essential for me to go to the next difficulty

Preference you want to have always high CR and Fortitude, but since you are close the CR, go with the CR piece even if doesn’t have Fortitude. I hope it makes sense.
I prefer 3 Stats for higher CR for higher survivability+dmg, secundaries gives you duration on your dots/debuff and higher crit, but you are more "squishy" - so it depends on the class and your resonance. For F2P/low-mid spenders, I will say 3 Stats - Fort, Will, Str is best pick

Secondary stats are secondary, they are definitely not better than resonance. They are only useful if you have a higher stat than your opponent, so unless you are a whale, they are useless. If you have 7k arpen, and your opponent has 7k armor, then you get 100% crit dmg, now, if you have 0 arpen and your opponent has the same 7k armor, you crit 100% dmg still. On the other hand, dmg and life are not based on the opponent stats, so they will always be worth it, that's why resonance actually increase your dmg and life, that's the only thing that reso does. Secondary gems increase your item bonus (life and dmg again), and thats why those gems became really important, that's actually a "second reasonance", in other words, dmg and life are the most important thing on pvp.
I see where you coming from, but if you aren't focusing on Secundaries you will lose SO MUCH damage, tankiness - and of course, they are only useful when you higher stat, that's the whole propose of focusing on Secundaries so you will always have higher secundaries than the others, specially if they are at your own resonance or even slightly higher. Or how do you think that I can still pump so much damage and climb the ranks in PvP to Rank 1 even with 900 reso? xD it's because if I'm faced with someone with lower secundaries than me and even if they are 3K reso, they will just get destroyed. It's not only in BGs, in Conqueror, Tower War, Alley of Blood - secundaries will always take the advantage over resonance. I hope you understand where I'm coming from.
@@IndezYT pvp ranking on DI are not made on who's stronger or better, you are first cause you play a lot, that's all. You will mostly be facing low reso players, who's either new to the game or just casual players. That has nothing to do with secondary stats.

And well you may not now but after 3500 - reso and secondaries aren’t counted for the Matchmaking, everyone is considered high lvl legend, so all my matches are vs all the biggest whales in Europe 🤣 gladly I’m a Barb However Bronze to Legend is “easier” because of the lower reso/secondaries but after 3500, that’s where the game starts. Since then been clinching to 4700 still 71% WR even in whale matches, but PvP in this game is pretty brain dead let’s be honest xD If you reached rank 1 in WoW arenas in the past, this is like warming up Ahah
Ahah I'm very aware that Crit is King in PvE xD It also seen the Auroth's DPS guide months ago :D It's my High CR PvP set - I mainly use dots in it, so as a Barb I never have a issue critting inside the BG, so I give priority to other stats, works better for me. Set bonus complete is the priority because it isn't strife/nerfed inside the battleground so it's pretty powerful boost.
for necro with mobile wizs that do most of dps do you suggest to focus on potency as normal gem and arm pen ?
If you play with DotS only, go Potency. If not, Armor Pen

167 days is impressive. But in context, that is more than one league in PoE isnt it? Quite a lot of grind :(
