Very helpful! Thank you very much for this video! I have two of these machines. One of them is in a terrible shape: the paint on it is gone in a lot of places. Question: what paint would you use and how would you go about the paintjob?
Would you be able to help me, my tab button got super stuck and I can't move the carriage to only one side. I can't tell if it's because of the tab button being stuck being pressed all the way down. Any help would be greatly appreciated 🙏🏼
@@katherinegarcia8150 take the ribbon cover off, and look back behind the buttons - you can reach the bottom of the tab key there, and GENTLY try to pop it back up. if that doesn’t work, lift the rear of the machine up about 1-2 inches off the table and drop it a few times - you won’t hurt the machine, but you might dislodge whatever is stuck. if neither of those things work, your best course of action will be to take it to a shop for repair; there is a list of shops at site.xavier.edu/polt/typewriters/tw-repair.html
I enjoy your videos so much 👍 Always makes me smile ☺️
Thanks. Your timing is perfect since I am working on one this week.
