This speaker is controversial. Her ex husband had done some videos on their marriage. Anyways, I watched his videos and I was very shocked . I m no one to judge . Allah knows best.

Try to make your question clear to receive accurate advice. But one advice, try to find a scholar in Indonesia someone who is trustworthy and ask him. I did this in the past while living in Belgium I managed to find one, and I never regretted taking advice from him and following it.

"Bid for connections" is total nonsense. The INTENTION behind why a spouses "bid for connection" is the important part. This assumes that a wife only wants a romantic connection which is usually not the case in today's world of hyper consumerism/materialism. This talk is based completely on a womans point of view and not Islam. It seems like half of our dawah folks today think the woman is in charge of the man instead of the other way around. Women simply don't want to accept the fact that Islam gives the HUSBAND the leading role and NOT the wife. It never ceases to amaze me that Allah himself (swt) says in the Quran that the plotting of women is great
    (إن كيدكن عظيم) [Yousef 28]
while the plotting of iblees is weak إن كيد الشيطان كان ضعيفا [an-nisaa 76]. I must assume our sister speaking here in this clip has good intentions but her words are certainly incorrect. Besides, why is she taking western 'studies' as a way to find what marital problems are?? It's actually very simple. We all have problems today, marital or otherwise, BECAUSE we placed our deen, which is the MOST IMPORTANT THING, on the sidelines. We treat it like it's an optional burdensome thing. In the Akhira we will undoubtedly see how important islam really is
