Making: Chinese Lion dance stop motion puppets for a new film :)

Hello everyone,
After coming back from China for the winter break I decided to make these two Chinese dancing lions for a new stop motion film idea I have. Hopefully I'll finish it before I return :) .
Chinese Lion dance wards off evil spirits and is said to bring good luck :)

I was trying to find a video on how to make a full body puppet suit (like the Chinese lion dance puppets), and I stumbled upon this video, I have modeling clay and been wanting to make a claymation animation for a while now. i don’t quite know how to make an armature, but this was very interesting and I have a few ideas from your video. Oh I am glad you found this video and could take inspiration from it! I simply use aluminium wire, twist it to the body I want and for the joints use milliput epoxy (it dries well and sticks to the wire) Thank you for leaving such a lovely comment!

What kind of clay is on the armature pieces? Is it also foam clay or something else?

I used miliput epoxy, which hardens nicely to create joints etc for movement. Then on top was foam clay to keep the piece nice and light :)
