"The beads" are curtain tie backs. You use one for each panel. The little loops hook to the wall to pull the curtain to it in an attractive way instead of hanging.
The wooden rope is used to pull back your curtains...that's what the lopes are for. You have to have a curtain pull back (big hook basically) screwed into the side of your window and then you can pull them back. The rope is just a decorative way to do it.
