So many good skates out there. but none have THIS many selling points at THIS price. Agreed?
...do you think the Standard Omni skate will become the new 'easy choice?'

I can only agree to both points. The only thing I can be a little weary of, is the internal height of the Aeon. I still haven’t had the luxury of trying them on myself, but if they are similar internal height, I might have some issues like I did in my Shifts.
Skates like the 909, Mesmer and Carbons are fine for people with a higher instep, so I really hope Aeons are as well.

@@LeslieJones_RSTRCTDI’d say slightly more height than a shift but still lower than others

The only real downside is that the soulplates don’t slide that well due to the whole boot being one material. Apparently the 2.0 version will eliminate that problem by making a completely new mold.

      The standard is
more money than that aeon, and nobody even skated the standard yet, so I don't know how they are a good competitor. People are really trying to up sell skate they haven't even rode yet. You could get almost every brand of skate around $200 and up $330 for someone to start out with

I was going to grab the aeon basics but opted for the team xxi A60 nor the soft shoe option in the boot. Love the simplicity of their skate. After trying out so many different frame sets and boot options the Aeon is the “let’s just skate” type of set up I didn’t know I needed

Not sure, why this isn’t coming up enough, but:
    1. This is a great skate, and for someone who’s last skate was a Salomon about 25yrs ago, this skate is super light and virtually grinds by itself, both groove and sole.
    2. However, if your foot is „high-instep“ this boot will feel like a wrench to your feet. I know a few ppl who can’t wear it. 2 boot sizes for 4 shoe sizes might simply not be enough. I’d love to skate it, but tried 3 liners and all painful.

    • @Vervas59
      @Vervas59 3 месяца назад

I think I have this problem. I have the Aeon 60s. I'm trying to work through it, but so painful to skate on for long periods. Do you know of any skates that accommodate high instep? Will a different liner fix the problem or is it really the skate itself?

  • @treschlet

another thing I really like about my Aeons is that they have a fairly wide toe-box, which doesn't give me the nasty pressure that a lot of skates give, on the side of my foot

Have some intuition premiums, sliqx souls, 45 degree strap and some nice 60mm famus wheels and make sure you groove them in on a nice rough ledge. This is all I'm going to say.

I haven't skated in about 24 years, but recently bought second hand (almost new) Aeons 60 Basic for £70, so I'm very happy and hopefully will be able to to some tricks, like good old times. Last skates I used were Salomon St8 blue and I think the Aeons are not as flexible. Are they easy for topsides for example?

Aeons would be great to ride, but like all Powerslide skates, they're a bit narrow around the arch/inner ankle, and can be painful for some of us with flat feet or bony ankles. They're not as bad with that issue as other Powerslide skates, but I still couldnt skate them.😢

After first 30 minutes the wheels were so fucked up already just from T Stops... I feel so wiggly on them, I can power stop on them or anything 😓 is that normal on those normal skates ? Never tried any besides aggressive skates

Oldhead question: my knees are old but I miss skating. I'm more worried about a sticky soul plate than maybe a slicker grind. Is a Sway a better idea? Or is the Aeon stickiness blown out of proportion? Thanks to any who have insight.

What about for those with US size 13-14 feet? I have the Roces M12 Lo right now in size 13 and they are very painful on the outer tops of my feet. I used a heat gun to stretch it more but it’s unbearable to wear for more than 15 minutes. I live in Houston where you can’t try any of these brands out in a store so recommendations are appreciated. I also have a pair of Powerslide Next 90’s and they fit great in size 13. They feel perfect. Really really really hard to get on and off but once they are on I wouldn’t change a thing.
Anything similar to that boot for aggressive?

It's hard to get the backslide plate down on grinds and I find topsides litterly impossible.
It grinds awful, even with a sliqx slider and liberally applied wax, I often just instantly stop grinding on a soul based grind and go flying.
It's is good for virt stuff and basic grove grinds though, frontside and backsides are super smooth all day long
