Motion to allow keffiyehs in Ontario legislature fails for a second time

- A few Ontario government members have voted again today to uphold a ban on keffiyehs in the legislature, prompting some people watching question period from the public galleries to put on the scarves.
politicians who try to please everyone; please no one in the long run.
So you’re saying Trudeau who pleases no one pleases everyone in the long run?
The scarf upsets those who support the genocide that has killed so far 15 thousand children in 6 months. That’s why the house speaker was asked to ban it. Also this ban is rooted in anti-Palestinian racism, because if those 15k children were not Palestinians, no one would have bothered if something was wearing something to stand in solidarity with them.

@@koalabrownie- Enough with that. You obviously fall for whatever propaganda is thrown your way, be it the indigenous or HAMAS...
No and no this is Canada
You're saying that you don't want anyone coming to Canada to bring their own clothing styles to Canada because you find it terrifying when you see people wearing clothing that looks different than your clothing?
So then you want everyone to dress the same way as the Indigenous people who were here many thousands of years before anyone else?
You're not going to be very popular with that demand.
Not everyone wants to wear traditional Indigenous clothing and in fact when settlers casually wear some Indigenous clothing it can be seen as cultural appropriation.
I don't know if you were of aware of this but in Canada we have a concept called freedom and don't have clothing police tightly monitoring what everyone is wearing.
Though if you want to have that then you could always move to Afghanistan.
Perhaps you would be happier there.

This is Canada. We know what that scarf represents..
It's amazing how many people went online today to show off by telling the world that they figured out that this is Canada.
And then inevitably they mess that small triumph up by showing that they have got Canada all mixed up with Afghanistan as they demand that the clothing police do something about people who are dressing differently than other people.
If you want clothing police so much then Afghanistan is the country for you and the Taliban are the government you want.
Think that Canada is not the place for you.
In Canada we don't order everyone to dress the same way.
So, the garment does have a political message.
The garment is upsetting to those in Canada who support the genocide in Gaza, in which 15 Thousand children were killed within the last 6 months. That’s why the house speaker was asked to ban it.
It is a political statement! It wasn’t always but it has been used as such for some time, now.
Also Hijab should be banned as a sign of an ideology
I'd argue it's a political symbol against women and girls suffering in Iran and Afghanistan, amongst others. Until it is a choice for all, it is a choice for none and thus conflicts with Canadian values.

No to keffiyeh!!!! I wrote my MPP who answered my letter and said he was uncertain. I said in no uncertain terms it wasn’t right. Notice that there are no Christian or Jewish groups calling for the death of a whole group of people. Stop this in its tracks. no political leader has the balls to say what needs to be said.
there are times when muslims are allowed to grape women (written about in all their holy books) to spread the faith but they are not allowed to grape muslim women or it's a sin. The scarves help these men determine who is not a sin to grape. It identifies them as muslim and the scarves are their defense from grape. This issue seems to vie related to people wearing crosses etc but this is about jihadic moves that identify people as victims and non victims.
