The person being interviewed is an editor of the Times of India she is not a expert. First of all the killing of Gandhi happened because she told the Indian army to use weapons within the Golden Temple which is one of the most sacred places on earth for Sikh people. I understand that they were looking for individuals that were part of the Khalistan movement however using weaponry to damage a sacred temple was the wrong political decision and she was able to do this because Sikh's only make up one percent of the population in India. That would have never happened to to a hindu temple of faith. She also suggests that Trudeau is close with people that are part of the Khalistan movement and that is not true. Just because he has a few people of Punjabi descent within his cabinet that does not mean he is close to the Khalistan movement. The editor is generalizing the facts. In fact only a very small percentage of Sikhs in India or abroad support the Khalistan movement

I am an Indian and I would have been happy if India had agreed to buy Canadian Oil during Mr Trudeau's trip to India. Hell, India is investing Billions of Dollars all around the world to secure supplies ( Russia, UAE, Iran, Burma, Vietnam, Even Israel) & now India I buying oil from USA too. But , Mr Trudeau blew it all. India will not tolerate attempts challenging it's territorial integrity. And let's face it the Khalistani nonsense exists only in Canada.

Fox Bat Khalistan is an ISI master work. During partition Sikhs chose the Hindu Punjab (Punjab Haryana Himachal) over the Muslim Punjab.
Even after creating a Sikh majority state of Punjab by separiting HP and Haryana Hindus are close to 40% in present Punjab. And they want a Sikh state there which is ridiculous. They should have stayed back in Pakistan.

Fox Bat you know the oils sands arent functional anymore right, why would we sell oil if the price of oil is only gurnateed to increase until a suitable alternative is found. Lol if it wasn't for Punjabis in Canada the India government, through other Indian companies, would lose a lot of money. There isn't any real tension between Sikhs and Hindus in Canada, but I can say for a fact there is alot of jealousy due to the widespread success of the majority of the Sikh community. Doesn't really matter if you acknowledge it I can see ur envy from the comments alone

hnb193 we moved all over the world there's cities across the world southall, surrey, brampton, Yuba city, Birmingham that are known within their countries due to the Punjabi population, not Hindus. Don't be upset we found success in our homeland and foreign lands. If anything your argument shows that Sikhs allowed Hindus to mingle with them without causing a problem, I can imagine the riots that would occur in Delhi if Sikhs tried moving in, in large quantities.

What specifically has changed policy-wise that would lead you to feel that freedom of speech and democracy have eroded? And when _were_ those good old days, specifically, wherein this was not the case, policy-wise? *I extend this question in sincere curiosity to anyone who feels similarly, as I'd like to understand the POV of people whose opinions differ from my own.*
_(Just to be clear: I'm not asking with tongue-in-cheek or attempting to be dismissive at all, I sincerely would like to know the details behind your point of view on this; unlike our American neighbours so often-and so unfortunately- do, I'm sure we can discuss without petty partisan jabs.)_

According yo my friend who lives in India, the key reason why the Indian government gave him such a tepid welcome is due to the fact that he has been seen with Sikh separatist leaders, and houses those who move to Canada. Apparently he also took the time to change his outfit no less than 3 times when he was there. You know it's bad when the rough equivalent of an undersecretary for agriculture is the person sent to meet a world leader.

"...it hasn't happened in the history of India!" Wow that is just horrible for Canada! Considering India goes back thousands of years, and in Canada's couple of hundred years of existence, no other country on Earth for thousands of years, until now, made such a fool of itself because of its leader. Sad and funny, but sad!

There is a difference between Freedom of Choice and Making Violent Claims out of nothing. If so much is there for Freedom to choose, Why not divide Canada into some more countries? India is not blessed when it comes to Neighbours like Canada is. Our neighbours are our biggest adversaries, and this extremist roots back to Pakistan and China.

I request you to tweet with hashtag #CAAgainstKhalistan (Canada Against Khalistan). We Indians are very much concerned about Canada's stand on Khalistan terrorists. Please show us that you do not support Khalistan. Trudeau as PM failed in India because he couldn't say that he was against Khalistan. Hope Canada people will show support for India by tweeting against Khalistan.

Trudeau should've listened to Ujjal Dosanjh and not Khalistani Sikhs. There are plenty of moderate Sikhs in Canada. didn't need to pander to Khalistani terrorists and he could've walked away with a free trade deal with India from this tour. Khalistani terrorism is the only reason why trade between our two countries is 8 billion not 80 billion.

HK Z You nailed it. Consider this Indian companies are investing Billions of Dollars in exploring Oil and Gas around the world (Russia, Burma, Iran, Iraq, Africa, UAE and even Israel) to secure supplies. Trudeau could have nailed this deal with India had he not abused Indian hospitality by pandering to Khalistani . FYI, India is also buying oil from USA.

Canadians are so Good People, India always respects and Love Canadians, And we are seriously apologetic towards our attitude for PM Trudeau, We never meant that attitude for Canadians, We or our PM only meant that for Trudeau and his policies or biasness.
He supported Khalistani Terrorists and that can be threat for India and Canada both, We would have welcomed him like a Hero, But he curbed that respect for particularly him when he made the chaos out of that sensitive part or relationship.
Respect and Love from India for Canadians, Also don't let Canada to be a home for Extremists or refugees, We Trust Canadians.

"Self-determination" is a vague term that can mean what ever anyone wants. Does anyone remember the trouble it put Woodrow Wilson? I don't think anyone in Trudeau entourage knows history. Canada has been properly shamed.
