  • The last 79 active was recently retired from service. 7941 finished its trip on the 40B Junction Dundas West at around 7:25 PM on March 4th, officially ending the era of these buses. These are clips of them in action during their last months of service from November to March. Enjoy!

I gotta chance to ride 7941 for the final time on March 4th. The driver was really nice, he allowed me to sit in the driver's seat. I will forever remember these beats 💪

The 7900 series have served in Toronto for 18 years which is the same year duration as the 2005 MiWay because the MiWay 05s also served in Mississauga for 18 years. TTC 7900 - 7979: 2006 - 2024 18 years of service and MiWay 0501 - 0572: 2005 - 2023 18 years of service MiWay 0601 - 0653: 2006 - 2023 17 years of service. I will always remember these beasts in Toronto and Mississauga.

For the longest time. I always thought the back vents on the Orion VII's looked like a person raising their eyebrows. 🤔 Like this Emoji for example. Since then. I've never been able to unsee it.
The 79xx's may be gone. But we still have the 80xx's until they're all gone.
Suffice to say. The Orion VII's have made an impact on public transportation in Toronto for the greater good.
It will be a damn shame once these beasts are fully retired. Im gonna miss em like many other transit enthusiasts.

The 79xx and 80xx are the best buses the TTC has, hands down. I'm actually doing a retirement compilation for them
