Well...the first comment is by the guy that turned me on to them. He deserves credit for the find, I just said WOW. These guys are so varied, such good performers, nothing they do sounds quite the same. Not even on the same album. And they're all about their fans. How committed are they? For their album Homemade they cut down trees, made their own instruments, then used the leftover wood to make photo albums, with polaroids they took for people in their fundraiser. Metal Adjacent/Whiskey Stixx TV has one. Unfortunately the only thing they're not committed to is self promotion or getting better known. Decided I'd give them a hand. Great reaction!

I like the desperate funk too. It reminds me of the more out of control blues.
Handmaid there second album is brillant. Its peak metal on creativity to me. It has one or two metal funk songs.
The Ongoing Concept is an excellent band. If you like this check out this entire album. I discovered them by researching the tour schedule of another band and wondered what TOC sounded like. I looked them up and found this song first and was blown away. This is like what happens when you take the BGs from the late 70s, teleport them to modern times, make them listen to a bunch of metal core songs and then they start writing modern music. And if you liked this song? Check out the video of "Prisoner Again." And if you like "Prisoner Again?" Look for the audio of "You Will Go Again." And the CD is only $10.
