    Hey man, I'm an artist and have been a massive fan of yours for a long time now, you are by far the most hyperrealistic landscape artist I have ever seen. The one sort of scape I haven't seen you do so far though is an *underwater* seascape. Is that something you would like to paint? I think it would look *EPIC!!*

    一度にかける点も数が少ないことから…時間もかかるのと、筆先につける絵の具の量感がすごく難しいですね。
    これだけの細かいテクニックと手間がかかっているからこその、リアルで質感のある樹木の表現ができるのでしょうね…

    I am always amazed at your technique to make the painting so photo realistic. I have decided to move to oils from Acrylic and I am experiencing some challenges. I just can't seem to get the consistency right to use for tree details, using both your fan brushes (series 4 1 & 2) and both rigger brushes (series 1-0 and 1-1). Perhaps my choice of going with Winsor & Newton Artisan Water Mixable Paint is the problem. Would Winsor Newton - Griffin Alkyd Fast Drying Oil Colour be better? I chose not to go this route as I wish to stay away from using solvents. Any help on this would be greatly appreciated. Keep up the awesome tutorials and sharing your gift. Eric

    • @cvanscho
      @cvanscho Год назад

      I find your comment interesting. I think Michael uses Griffin quick drying oils. I suspect that they would have a slightly different response to mixing in diluting media to the water mixable ones. Having said that, I use the Griffin oils exclusively, I ALSO struggle to get the right consistency for trees! My main problem is that I cannot get enough "load" on the brush to last more than a couple of "leaves", and then I need to re-load! Michael carries on for ever with each "load". I just don't know how he does it!

    • @EricFinkelstein4851
      @EricFinkelstein4851 Год назад

      @@cvanscho Good day! Thank you so much for your comment regarding my inquiry to Michael regarding the fluidity of paints. It seems that I should move to Griffin oils from my current water-based oils. I don't know how Michael can go on for so long before refreshing his brush. I guess it just has to do with finding the right consistency. Practice makes perfect they say. Take care.

    • @cvanscho
      @cvanscho Год назад

      @@EricFinkelstein4851 Hi Eric! Yes, you've hit the nail on the head I think. Practice. Michael still drives me crazy though with his incredible brushwork. I stare at the screen as he applies those leaves, and my brain just doesn't compute! He's not normal! I have been using white spirits mostly to date with the Griffin paints as a medium. Liquin is also great, but I used to find the fact that it produces a more glossy finish made me put it to one side and stick to spirits. It just occurred to me today however that I now usually apply a gloss varnish after my pieces have dried, in order to give it more "pop" and contrast. So, I've just dug out my big bottle of Liquin! Gloss doesn't matter (with the exception though of when you want to photograph your work - then gloss can be a PITA for reflections...). (BTW white spirits and Liquin are both incredibly mild and almost odourless. I get them all over my hands all the time - for years now. Nothing to worry about).

    • @EricFinkelstein4851
      @EricFinkelstein4851 Год назад +1

      @@cvanscho Hi Chris, Sounds like we have some thoughts in common about "Michael's Magic". I was concerned about moving towards the use of spirits, but your comment about white spirits and that the oder is negligible is great to hear. I do use Liquid and agree that it gives off a shine but not a big issue with me. So when my supplies are used up I am going to move forward with getting Griffin alkyd fast drying oil and white spirits. Again, thank you for sharing your experiences. Ciao, Eric

    Don't You bother about that in the future the paint will oxydise more and become translusent and in a result the dark tree painted over the light sky will look faded? I saw this many times on old works where painters approached simmilar method.
