Timeless modern slick smooth high-flight exquisite sound & voice, Me relistening to Scritti Politti every few years or so, Their sound is simply aging very well!
Fabulous album both lyrically and sonically! Psyche is pronounced /ˈsaɪkiː/ as in 'sigh-key". Arif Mardin was responsible for the production. Green was inspired by Chaka Khan's 'I Feel For You' album, on which Arif Mardin created all the sounds.
i bought "cupid et psyche 85" in 1985 and still have it and other scritti politti records in my collection so i have(and countless others have) heard of and listened to them
STILL listen to this album… and its underrated follow-up Provision. Deceptive luxury: he was always saying something very interesting with the lyrics, as the music washes over you. In the mid-Eighties Money took over, and this album could’ve been titled Penthouse and Pavement, if another band hadn’t got there first.
One of my favourite albums of album. Green is a genius! David Gamson's keyboards, Fred Maher on drums for some of the tracks, Paul Jackson Jr amongst the session guitarists, and Arif Mardin's production. Cupid and Psyche 85 was a perfect way! 😉
Masterpiece!!💚💚💚🎶🔥👏🏽

Saw them a couple of years ago in London opening for OMD. Fantastic show. Green Gartside forever!

One of my favourite albums in high school!
Yes our co-host Kelly loves this album. Our co-host Dave is a fan of Provision.
I love both!!🔥

Genius pop album
It’s almost as if Yamaha commissioned them to make an advert extolling the virtues of the DX7 - 80’s digital personified
“Sykey”
DAVID Gamson and Fred Maher, NOT Fred Gamson.
