two weeks ago my theatre director at my high school announced we would be doing this play for our one-act this fall so naturally i searched for it and i am so thankful i found this recording. i am now very excited for the show this fall :) congrats on an amazing show!!
london h The play is very fun, and you'll get attached to it. I hope your school will enjoy it as much as ours did. This was so much fun to do, and hope you have the same fun, if not more.
same but ours was supposed to last Thursday but it got canceled due to weather but we still performed we all got the day off and treated it like it was still competition day we had a judge and everything, I was Frances btw
I would definitely say that Charlotte was the stand out performer here. The whole cast here is good, but Charlotte, wow. I just got cast as Charlotte in my school's production and I will 100% look her for inspiration on how to play her.
i'm tom in my high schools production... competition is 3 weeks away and i'm just now looking up what other schools have done: Watch Tom on what not to do. holy cow he sucked. hit all the wrong lines with all the wrong timing.
I’ve seen a few performances of this play and this is definitely my least favorite. Over exaggerated in some parts. No chemistry between Tom and Catherine. The only good performer here was Charlotte.
@@johnkladis4575 I agree, everyone except Charlotte did terrible. The blocking was terrible, the acting was way overdone in some parts, and not a lot of energy. Tom and Catherine were the worst.
Hello, I would like to also correct the pronunciation of "Donohue" Everyone here pronounced it extremely wrong, its not Dono who, its "hue" as in "Hugh" not "who". Whoever said otherwise, needs to either go back to first grade, or get special education training. Velocity, the girl who did not do well with her role, butchered it a bunch of times.
Yes that's probably because they needed to cut it in length to make it a one act play for the competition. Just judging on the title of the video. Whether this play should be cut down to make a one act play is open for debate.

that's what my director said too!

Newest addition to the boat but many many years later

Beautiful job! I was definitely in tears by the end. I didn't realize this was based off of a real play. Doing so research for an audition. Just wow.
I'm reading Radium Girls right now. I'll be watching your play later to supplement my understanding of the book.
My school’s performance for this is next weekend and I’m so glad I found this
How’d it go?
Went to Warren High School play in Gurnee, Il. They knocked it out of the park!
I'm auditioning for this tomorrow
Me too lol
i'm frances' alternate. super excited to compete even in this crazy year! :)
I am currently doing this play at my schools one act I’m going to be the news reporter
This is so funny I'm watching this one year later and I'm also gonna do the play and be the news reporter
My school is doing this and ummm nothing like this

I thought it was a bit camp.
The sad thing is he won honorable mention in our zone, which was completely misjudged.
How far did y'all advance

actually i think it was the best!
I agree with you Tom and Catherine were horrible. How they are actors is beyond me.
Why are you so hateful?
The amount of cuts they had, and they even added lines to make smooth transitions between cuts???
Im sorry, but I hate it when they do that!

she botched that first monologue
Skipped over a bunch of lines
My son played Tom in the play a few months ago, he couldn't cry. Lots of this was cut out.

i don’t know if this is true for everyone but for my school our play has to be cut to 30 minutes or else you are disqualified
@@feliciabuchanan9803see, that’s fair. When I was in school, I wanted Tom. I feel like the only reason I didn’t get him was coz I’m a girl
