Opponent could have won. Instead of plus Liliana, he could minus 2 to kill the last token, attack for 3. Cgb would have been at 2 and couldn't deluge. His next draw step was a land and no answer for trespasser

It feels like an ethically good deck that doesn't cause harm but only prevents it to the point at which it can't be dealt anymore
UW control with no win con is the most evil deck archetype ever to exist. Even dedicated prison decks at least let you know at some point that you are done. But being given the false hope that you can somehow draw your way out up until you draw your last card is just pure torture. A similar deck made top 8 of a GP back in 2018 using the 5 mana Teferi to tuck itself back into the deck with its -3 so you never decked out. Peace but at what cost?

Been thinking a lot about my favorite colors and what my favorite combo would or could be, and I am sure it's bant. Then last night I saw a bant tokens deck that looked alright but I've been enjoying mono blue and want something more controlly than a tokens deck.
Today I find this video... I can't afford to craft it all I'm sure, but this made me very happy. I've only been playing a couple of months but I've come to love the game after a rough start (I adore the aesthetics top to bottom, everything is beautiful, but I wasn't sure I wanted to play a card game again in my life lol. It requires a certain mental acceptance of some tough things. But we got there.)

My personal Standard Bant control list has the Shigeki/Skyturtle loop and Kairi. I like being able to get the opponent dead eventually without having to deck them, and I think Skyturtle is just better than Bant Charm a lot of the time.
I also like Tamiyo. It's really really easy to get the Tamiyo ultimate, and when opponents don't immediately scoop to it you get to enjoy playing six spells a turn and discarding to hand size.

The problem with the skyturtle is that you can play it and kill the opponent, and we don't do that here
I play an azorius devious cover up pile that is pretty similar but ramps with 3 celestus and 2 honored heirloom. I can't really exile artifacts because of that, but I've found the only artifact I see regularly that I would want to exile anyway is bankbuster. 2 heirlooms because I only have 3 celestus and the targeted exile comes in clutch at times when you don't want to exile your own GY with farewell but have to hit a key card in theirs.
Recently I had someone play out the entire game, place a stop on their upkeep at 0 cards in the library, and rope until they had no more. I don't know if it was meant to annoy me but if so they failed miserably at that. That was the most fun game I've had in a while.
That last game was epic. Classic CGB-style win against a hated and exhausted net deck. Awesome stuff! Top 10 video of the year 🔥

I have been always Mythic top 500 in 3 consecutive months (with Azorius control) but since rotation I gave up completely because I see no sense in frustrating myself by starting every month from Tier4 Platinum rank.. especially since cards like Study Break (tapping 2 aggro cards, getting card draw engine) into Doomskar and so on is completely missing.. no Devestating Mastery, or any other cards like Planar Cleansing.. not my type of meta, sry.

Can I please suggest a recommendation to your vids?
Can you perhaps advise some of the 'core, must have' cards vs 'replacable and whats a good replacement' for your decks?
for example after explaining the deck, you identify what is the core cards to how the deck works, such as endless detour, farewell and devious cover up
then perhaps teferi can be replaced, with other mana generation card maybe? like celestus perhaps
this allows ppl who may not have one specific card, or maybe only have 3/4 of the copies to know what are good options to work with
hopefully this thought can be implemented. thanks!

I have given you a like even though this deck is the same thing as the epiphany decks that ended up making people rage until it got a ban. If you cause this strategy to go rampant on arena I'm going to be one of those ragers. You basically built your own epiphany.

i started playing a deck like this pre rotation to prep for it but i got like shegaki and a couple of win cons in the deck like hullbreaker and warden alot of fun tefari seems alot better though

How would board wipe tribal hold up in the current standard?
Not really, especially if the opponent is playing blue. Reason is so many cards come with added bonuses it’s really hard to keep up.
The reason for why you’d struggled with blue is they can have you dead on board and with counter magic. Make disappear may seem like a poor mana leak but when the opponents ahead, it counter unless you pay four and spread over two copies.
Doesn’t matter if you can counter one of them, the other still gets that board wipe.
I know CGB showed off how to play a deck like this and play it well but a couple of games were very very close and he is a master with this style of deck.
