      Ryu's fighting stule (and Ken, Gouki/Akuma, and Gouken) is based on Shotokan. In Fighting game universe, I see Ryo Sakazaki and Jin Kazama's fighting styles are both based on Kyokushin.

      @@MP-zt9yb Definitely not Shotokan, and by saying that you prove know nothing of martial arts beyond the surface.
      *Makoto* was made SPECIFICALLY to depict Shotokan Karate.
      Shotokan stance is wide, they are *outfighters* with an emphasis in measuring distance to blitz in lightning fast with mostly linear strikes.
      Traditional Karate schools don't even apply Gedan Mawashi Geri (low roundhouse kicks), whereas in Kyokushin it's encouraged.
      Ryu and Ken strikes are *textbook Kyokushin* like Jin Kazama. The abundance of body shots for closed in fighting, the advanced kicking in unusual angles, the prevalence of low kicks.
      The rivalry between Ryu and Sagat was an homage to the historic rivalry between Kyokushin and Muay Thai.
      You really don't know your stuff.

    call me crazy but i feel that Ryu now that he mastered satsui no hadou... he really needs to create a new tecnique worthy of this new power

    • @hectoraliegbe9609
      @hectoraliegbe9609 5 лет назад +1

      Ryu did not master the Satsui no Hado (Surge of Murderous Intent). He rejected it in favor of Mu no Ken (Fist of Nothingness). There is a manga where Ryu specifically created a technique for himself. That technique is known as the "Kaze no Kobushi" (Fist of the Wind). The move is performed by Ryu assuming a stance, collects a large amount of Ki energy, and releases it in a single blow.
      This move originated in the Street Fighter III: Ryu Final manga, and he utilized it to break Dudley's arm, wound Sagat, defeat Ken, and destroy Gouki (Akuma). The move was planned to be Ryu's Finishing Move in the cancelled Capcom Fighting All-Stars. Ryu can be seen using the attack in a promotional trailer for the game. Although the Kaze no Kobushi has never been featured in a Street Fighter game, the attack nonetheless served as a inspiration for many techniques Ryu uses after the cancellation of Capcom Fighting All-Stars. Ryu's Focus Attack in the Street Fighter IV series, the finishing strike of his Cross Art in Street Fighter X Tekken, the Hanagashi move's follow-ups (Tesshin and Isshin) in the Ultra Street Fighter IV OMEGA Mode, his finishing strike against Necalli, and in Street Fighter V: Arcade Edition his second V-Trigger known as the Kakko Fubatsu.

    Some of his normal moves like standing forward punch and fierce punch changed from left hand to right hand animation based on moves from 3rd strike. His parry animation changed from left arm extended to left arm retracted. Ansatsuken? All along i thought his fighting style was shotokan as game magazines of old frequently proclaim. I know there is a sf IV but ive been partial to 3rd strike.

      @tonitoniversus  7 лет назад

      His "new" cr.HP is the same, Ryu position is switched so that he's now facing the screen, that's it. I want to make a video with all the new moves from April's patch...or perhaps more videos with individual new moves for each character, what do you think?

    • @Toomnyusernae
      @Toomnyusernae 7 лет назад +1

      I think just do a small vid with the new stuff. Add the link in the description to the predecessor video like this one. Otherwise you're more prone to make mistakes and forget something who knows. It'll be cool to isolate and see what new tools were given to characters specifically after SFV has run its course.

    • @tonitoniversus
      @tonitoniversus  7 лет назад

      I was thinking to add cards to each character's move list video that sends to the exact same moment their new moves are showcased in my new vid, I don't know if it's possible though.

    • @Toomnyusernae
      @Toomnyusernae 7 лет назад

      Cards? Sounds like annotations or time stamps in the description to be exact. Helluva lot more work if you want to go down that route. The way you have it organised so far works. Movement, throws, normals, specials, ex, supers, end. Since they're only move lists, I don't think a time stamp is really necessary. Try doing an experiment and see how it works for you.

      +offthe dome37 Donkey Kick? :)) I think you may be refering to Joudan Sokutou Geri. I also want Chun-Li's moves back from the first build of the game. I think the only way for them to do so is to make an EX version of Ryu and an EX version of Chun-Li the same way Guilty Gear X2 has for all of its characters.

      +Cool Creeper Have you ever heard of SFVBeta? It's based on the second beta. Doesn't show damage or combos and the changes to the final game were not significant, other than Ryu's Airborne Tatsu can now only be performed after a Forward Jump, but I added an annotation.
