@@carolyndalton7775 yes! When did you start? How much do you have now? I spent all my money for the year. I’m gonna find about $30 to invest this week.
You don’t have to have the full amount to invest in an EFT. You can buy what is called “fractional shares”. I would look up “dollar cost averaging” in terms of investing. So don’t focus on the stock price in total, just focus on a stable EFT. You can diversify with Growth EFTs, sector specific EFTs, US EFTs and International EFTs.
That’s so awesome you opened a brokerage account, I’m excited to watch your journey. All we can do is do the best with the circumstances that we have. You should do a portfolio update every month. I invest in index fund so VOO, SCHD, and QQQM.
Thank you! I’m excited to. Now the work of finding extra money to put into begins. I know, and it is very inspiring to see how far you have come. I will be updating🤗
Love that you are starting your brokerage investing! It's a great account to have in addition to the retirement based accounts, especially if early retirement is apart of your plan! You have some solid securities there, and Robinhood is very easy to use in my humble opinion. Every deposit, every dollar, and every fractional share adds up! I'm excited to watch you on your investing journey!! Be sure to track your portfolio often, especially those juicy dividends!! Keep up the good work 😊😊😊
Yes! Investor friends. What a great thing to build a community on. Keep me updated. For now, all my money has run out but next year is only a few months away, so I’m preparing for that
Interesting stuff. I have a feeling you'll end up on the more aggressive side of trading once you realize how slow the method of investing is that you've chosen. Get rid of coke and choose GLD. Get rid of chilis and choose NVDA. I'd rather have 50% of a stock that actually makes money instead of 100% of a stock going nowhere.
What I can promise is that I will research those funds that you suggested I buy! Thanks. Keep the suggestions coming as I need more funds to research 🧐
Thanks for sharing! You’re well on your way. This has been somewhat a tricky year for the market…rates were just cut and we have an upcoming election. However, the most important thing is to be consistent no matter what’s going on, believe in what you’ve invested in, and look at those red days/weeks/months as opportunities to buy low.
Great video, I started my investing journey just over a year ago and find it inspiring to watch others share their journeys no matter how far they are down the path.
@@QuitThatDayJob Both actually, I started with the brokerage and just started a Roth IRA both through Robinhood. I am keeping the retirement limited to a simple three fund portfolio but I am being more experimental with the brokerage account.
Mommy Trader sent me over. I started out with $25.

Good picks on the stocks - Index 500, ETFs and REITs with dividends is the way to go. Keep it up.
