That's Chinese Chrome and I also needed sunglasses watching it from home. For this type of money sorry GWM, rather get a Toyota Landcruiser Prado TX or VX-R or First Edition. Always professional and comprehensive. Thank you. Cool Car Chick.

Interesting car. Looks nice. But we wait to see what the long term durability of the these vehicles will be like when compared to Toyota especially. This looks like a Dodge RAM up front and Nissan Patrol out back

For people who are spending that sort of money they want capability, not bling. You didn’t actually test the vehicle, there is no real 4x4 test here, you used the manufacturers figures for fuel consumption and tow rating is only as good as a Freelander 2. This wasn’t a good review for a “disruptor” brand. If GWM were serious about it they would let you tow a caravan from Jhb to Lesotho and offroad it in the berg and give us the figures. I’ll bet you there is no way you can get 8.5ltrs /100km even as a daily in and around Jhb. Real world, it will suck petrol at a V8 rate and you will always feel like it is struggling. 600 plus nm on paper isn’t applied in real traction. This is for the posers. For R1mil + no one who wants to know they are getting back home after overlanding will be walking to GWM for this over a Everest, Prado, Fortuner, MUX, and my personal favourite is the Pajero sport or Pajero. Sorry but this is not a review but a GWM sales pitch. Bad review ignition.

I agree that the review was useless but the car is actually pretty good, I know a guy who bought one and he's used it a bit off road and is very happy. I also have seen some off-roading comparisons from China, Russia and other countries with this car and it does fairly well. The 8.5l/100 figure is unrealistic, the person I know who has one has the top spec hybrid and he says it's usually at around 9.5-10 but it still isn't too bad all things considered, fuel consumption figures are usually higher than the advertised consumption because the advertised consumption is basicay the best case scenario. My uncle has the latest Prado and quite frankly it's disappointing, the ride quality was okay when I drove it but not great, the interior is lackluster for the price but it feels relatively well put together to be fair, some of the driver aides didn't work very well, fuel consumption was sitting at 13l/100, they cut some weird corners such as gluing the front camera in place with a hot glue gun instead of using mounting screws (I was very disappointed by this because it indicates that they are reducing their quality), some of the interior pieces have some wiggle in them but it isn't too bad. I saw a comparison video with the new Prado compared to other cars in it's class and it did poorly, the fortuner managed to go through some parts that the new Prado just couldn't probably due to the fact that the fortuner has more power. From what I've seen the tank 500s off-roading capabilities are on par with Toyota or better, it's a shame that this review never showed that. The towing capacity isn't great, I totally agree, it's probably due to the fact that it's a hybrid, most hybrids don't have good towing capacities. The interior, tech, perceived build quality, warranty and performance are reasons to consider a tank over a Prado though, it's good to have more options and I'm convinced that this car is a good contender. I watched a teardown video from "value cars australia" done by a Russian guy and underneath the skin the car seems to be well put together and simplistic, I think it's going to last a while and sell well 😎👌

Sean Fenwick, this is not so much a review more than a Product description. You are 'marking' the wrong paper.
You may be thinking that i am taking it a bit personal, (she is my daughter by the way) one cannot do a full review of a vehicle by spending a couple of hours, determined by circumstances beyond one's control.
I share one thing with you though, i am a vociferous defender of locally based Car Manufacturers. If i had my way, no one would be allowed to buy an imported product when a similar vehicle produced by a locally based Manufacturer is available.

Worst presente ever, she speaks very unclear.
Just a tip, let a male review a rugged man's vehicle.

This is such an insensitive comment that is very unfair. Such comments are not progressive. I am sorry.
