I remember going to a few different Dragstrip’s and seeing Big Daddy Don race when I was a kid and I’m fairly sure that was at the time of his first Swamp Rat or just before! Maybe his first Sligshot??!! I even got to go to Beachbend ( Ky), to watch one of the Nationals ( don’t remember which one) just know they used to hold one or some? of the nationals there! But Big Daddy Don ran at that! Aww the good ole days!! Very good Doug, very good!!
Right On Replicas - I would have been luckier? if I would have thought of getting his John Hancock back then but I was pretty young at the time so I wasn’t thinking about it! We did get to go back in the pits and see all the Cool cars and drivers, at Beachbend, and I get a close look at Big Daddy but not close enough to meet him, that place was packed! I feel pretty lucky now, well, when I got a little older, when I was old enough to realize all the Cool cars and big name drivers of the day back then! A lot of well named racers came to Beachbend but also bluegrass Dragstrip ( Lex Ky) and Mountain parkway Dragstrip ( Clay City Ky), back in the late 60’s and through the 70’s. My Dad used to take us to one of the strips ( Lex or Clay City ) just about every weekend, from late spring through early fall! Yep, I would consider myself lucky now, after thinking about it and thinking about all the awesome cars and drivers we saw race, then! Thanks Doug!
LOL...I lived close to the Wynns place in LA , when I was a kid...East Los Angeles was very industrial...I lived in the San Gabriel valley , in Azusa....Now I live in North Ca , Above San Francisco....I like it here , No smog
Hi, Buddy. First of all, hope all is well. Once again, super nice job. Great work, whatta gem! .You probably could build a model of the Holy Grail and Jesus would be proud to display it, hehehe... Thanks for sharing your talent. All my best. Lou
-Doug
The kit was poorly made. Having all kinds of fitment issues. Engine details are lacking. Too much chrome plating and not matching with the original car. Also the blower intake should have 4 not 3 butterflies. Lots of extra plastic to cut off from the molding process.
I am glad they re issued this kit. I know it was going for crazy money on ebay if one appeared before it was re issued.
DC, You got that right! -Doug

Lou,
Thanks man, you're the best! -Doug
Nice Doug. You going to post this on Old School Drag Racers?
CS, No, this is my only review venue! -Doug
What do you use for plug wires?
Red, I use "wire wrapping wire" P/N B-30-1000. It comes in colors and one spool is enough for hundreds of models! I got mine from Amazon. -Doug
Can you maybe do a mongoose kit thanks
BH, You're in luck. Go otthe Playlist tab and look at the Automotive (Straight Line Racers) tab. There is a Mongoose dragster review there! -Doug
Thanks for telling me.
You're sure, it's a beautiful model.
Thanks JC! -Doug

72, Yep. It'll take a little extra work to finish right. I can hardly wait for Tamiya to come out with one! -Doug
