2019 Peugeot 508 review: Style and Substance?

There’s a lot to commend in the 508. The exterior looks great, the interior is nicely put together and is a comfortable place in which to pass time. It’s as practical as many of its rivals and the Hybrid version not only represents the cutting edge in electrified vehicles, but is also a potentially very economical car to run.
All in all, it's a good overall package and a worthy alternative to some of the premium alternatives. But there’s nothing that is outstanding about the 508, nothing that offers a compelling reason to make a beeline for it, as opposed to a number of its rivals.
In terms of design, the Volkswagen Arteon, Audi A5 Sportback and Kia Stinger rock the same coupe-like saloon look just as well. The interior is good, but not as good as the Passat, BMW 3 Series or Audi A4. The Skoda Superb beats everything in the class in terms of space and practicality, and that car also has the iV plug-in hybrid that can match the 508 Hybrid.
That said, the 508 does a lot of things well and it’s worth adding to any shortlist of family saloons.

Absolutely stunning. I'd definitely take one over the ubiquitous German offerings 😍😍
I recently drove this car and the truth is once you change to the sport setting the feel of the wheel improves dramatically. Not that it gets better than a BMW 3 series but for example i found it better than that of a Mercedes CLA.

Still I don’t understand why There are so limited comments about the automatisms of these new générations of cars in all recent reviews !

After using that very well equipped car,
Some look very useful to me others ...I will Never use them !!!

@@RestlessFisher the car is almost in perfect conditions alter 4 years I say almost as the only Thing I mention is that the paint is quite fragile when it comes to little stones impacts on the road

I've just bought the hybrid 508 and it's much more affordable and a great price now. Buying new isn't great and very pricey

Once again think Peugeot UK have let tgevdide down by not offer the open pour wood trim they offer across Europe.

German cars are the ones with quality issues in real life. Don't ever trust the heard!
I use to be until I owned a Peugeot, I have owned cars from loads of manufacturers and Peugeot by far has been the most reliable. Jd power has also seen Peugeot come top in the reliability category.
I have had my citroen C5 2 liter diesel now for 12 years. It is still good to drive, mostly just regular maintenance, looks like new in and out. My next car could be Peugeot 508 but as my C5 works so well I dont want to change my car.
